Authority: Revolution

My latest review ^_^

I submit that this is the very best superhero comic on the markets today. X-fans, DC fans, people who haven't read comics in years... I've yet to hear any negative responses. So what do you guys think? And how screwed is the Authority at the end of the last issue?

Tom goes to the Mayor

Ugh... I hate Tom Goes to the Mayor. The "animation" gives me a headache and on top of that, it's not funny. It's random, weird, and silly... but not funny. It's really hard to make a fifteen minute show feel like it drags quite so much, but somehow the creators have managed to do that. Ri...

The Empire Strikes Bush

God this is awesome. Now I want to see Bush in a robe fighting off yoda in the middle of the Capitol building. He uses the dark powers of the force to chuck chairs or unconverted Democrats at the furry little bastard until the Empire reigns for real! Though I gotta say that the article claiming that...

Reload: One year later

I went from loving the X-Men to hating them. Considering there isn't a "The Reload was a mistake" option, I'll just leave that blank. Astonishing: My thoughts on this title are that basically, true X-Men fans will love it, and that's cool. The stories aren't my cup of tea, but I thoroughly...

City of Heroes

God I love this game and everything about it. I just need a better video card for my laptop. Anyone know how much that'll cost me, or if I'll even be able to install it for that matter? I've just started though, level 10 Forcefield Defender named Emminance on the Protector server. People love me bub...

Will Eisner passes away

In March, I believe, DC is releasing a collection of Eisner's work on The Spirit, his most popular work. Certainly worth checking out if you want to learn more about what the man was capable of.

Jill, any Chuck Austen news ?? (no, I don't quit !)

Little but you have to take into account that both titles have been around since forever. It's harder to buy a newer title with such a derivative idea to make it even if the writer is willing to keep working on it.

Out of curiosity, what was the difference between World Watch and other titles that sound very similar to the premise pitched for WW (ie: The Authority or The Watchmen).

who would win?

Spiderman wins. He has arguably the fastest reaction time of any non-cosmic character in the Marvel Universe with his own enhanced agility on top of his Spider-Sense. Plus, Peter Parker has been a superhero longer than Nightcrawler, Marvel time or not, and he's beaten teleporters before. Granted, it...

Female Characters That We Hate???

Storm. In every appearance, she comes across as a stuck up holier-than-thou bitch, and it gets very tiring. And god help you if she's in a book that Claremont is writing. Suddenly she'll be the unbeatable warrior princess/queen team leading team destroying powerhouse with more "Goddesses" ...

So did he basically quit World Watch or what? I've yet to see anything about that book save a few preview images.

I'm hereby boycotting Toyfare.

*Tries not to laugh but can't help it*

Yeah, the joke's old and pointless as hell now that Austen's gone. But there's something about a toy Nightcrawler proclaiming his lack of sucking that will always make me laugh.

Free iPod thinger

My friend Kevin got his free I-Pod, and if i can find the site I'll link to the pics he posted on the web to prove it. I also helped my friend Jen with a similar offer to get a free TV out of this deal, and did the I-Pod thing for my bro by buying $30 worth of ink cartridges off a site (something I ...

Originally posted by Bamfette there was another post here by Winged Outlaw which said pretty much the same thing, but with a decidedly more frustrated tone, but it was deleted by mods because he stepped over the line a bit, but i wish i could put it at least partly back. X-Men General Discussion Reload

Please. I don’t like it so obviously it’s a low blow. Never mind the fact that I admit there are parts that I like and my only real complaint is it’s failure to gel together as a whole unit. But you’re right, unless a person loves 100% of what’s in the issue, he must be a little troll who doesn’t kn...

X-Men General Discussion Reload

Though almost laughably bad as a composition, Heroes and Villains admittedly had quite a few good moments. Sammy’s death was touching, and the second fight between the X-Men and Brotherhood (when they lost, and believably so) was really quite dramatic. Unfortunately, there was a lot of bad to go alo...

What price will prevent you picking up a comic?

Honestly, if its good, I'll buy it, with very little regard to price. The other day I put down $60 at a shop to pick up some trades, just because they were reviewed well. But this week it was less then $10. I'd be wary of paying over $3.00 for a single issue unless I heard some amazing things, howev...
