It's renewal time!

Hey Nightscrawlers Crew! It's renewal time for our domain hosting. And since this site shows no sign of slowing down and Nightcrawler will be in the new film, I'm renewing for another 2 years. I'll go ahead and renew the domain as well while I'm at it. Last time I did this, it was in 2014 so it was ...

Re: this coffee tastes like ass

That may be the most terrible thing I've ever heard. Actually, even typing that seems like an inadequate way to express how I feel hearing news like that. I'm not even going to try for something better because sometimes, words just aren't enough.

I'm so sorry.

At least they got 473 comic book legends in before they started talking about this again. :LOL

Re: game of thrones-esque 'crawler!

I sort of love this. It makes me think about all the steampunk variations on a theme you see in costuming/cosplay. Steampunk Marvel heroes, steampunk DC heroes, steampunk star wars, steampunk My Little Pony... In 2010 at Dragoncon there was this amazing Steampunk X Men group that won the masquerade:...

Re: The New & Improved Book Club (Remastered in 3-D)

I am reading nothing but school books. However. Gwendolyn Brooks: THE POOL PLAYERS SEVEN AT THE GOLDEN SHOVEL The simplicity of this poem hit me like a ton of bricks, so to speak. I immediately could see everything from the pool players' perspective as well as an outsider's. It's so simple yet so e...

THe dracos mistakes and funny stuff.

[No wonder people got stressed out and didn't come back. At the risk of derailing the discussion completely, elfofdoom did create a moderation hassle for us. She had a tendency to issue challenges, post authoritative statements about X-men canon that were wrong, and make announcements on behalf of ...

This thread makes me miss elfofdoom. She drove me nuts, but at the same time, she was good for hours upon hours of entertainment.

Hell on Wheels

It's not you.

The story puts my husband to sleep every time. Even I've had to back up and re-watch things because I didn't understand what was going on the first time.

It does have a lot of promise, but I worry the writing may be lacking.

Hell on Wheels

So what happens? Do you turn the TV off after Walking Dead or do you keep it on and watch Hell on Wheels like I do? I was really excited about Hell on Wheels when they first announced it mainly because I love Civil War shit, I love westerns, and the story of the American railroad is cool. I was hopi...

The Walking Dead TV series

I'm still watching, but I still have mixed feelings. There is some interesting and even daring writing. For instance - giving Daryl is hero's journey story arc. They could have just kept him as stereotypical redneck muscle - good for fighting and not much else. The fact that he comes off as a rich a...

The Walking Dead TV series

I haven't watched last night's episode, so maybe I have to eat my words here, but ... are you guys saying you like this second season? I'm not loving it. It seems like a lot of talking and a lot of breaking their own rules (can the walkers smell living flesh or can't they?) while exploiting overused...

The Walking Dead - just the book

Story and character is all well and good, but I also love the art in these books. The choice to do this book in black and white is so bold. I love the modern take on what is really a very old school art comic look. I was drawn in as much or more by the artwork. We have a few Walking Dead original pa...

I'm saint kurt. I was a freelance costume designer from Seattle when you met me nearly 10 years ago, worked in Chicago playing Nightcrawler for the Museum of Science and Industry, and now I'm a veterinarian in New York. I was a very active exec administrator here during some tumultuous (and fun) tim...

The end of 'Don't ask, don't tell'?

I had to sign my contract as a reserve officer four times because of don't ask don't tell. I signed my original contract which had almost a whole page outlining what not asking and not telling entailed. A few weeks later I was called back, that contract was ripped up and I signed a new one without t...

I'm back from DragonCon and I caught one of those horrendous convention spread plague things. But that's not really bugging me because I had a really good time and I feel it was worth it. I'm worried about Kiley and Xander. I'm glad Kiley's okay, but I probably see a dog/kid adjustment case about on...

So far, close to $25,000 and we don't have all the bills in yet. It's crazy isn't it? The surgeon's fees alone (without anesthesia who bill separately) came close to that for my two surgeries (one of which was basically a spay). My fee for a spay of a dog my size is around $400 and that includes th...
