Avengers general discussion

I'm not a fan of this line-up. It just doesn't feel like the Avengers anymore and I'm not interested in Marvel's version of the JLA. So, I'll be dropping this book after the last of Disassembled is over.

X-Men General Discussion Reload

I agree that JP, given his history and past characterization, would have been the ideal choice to play antagonist and hard-ass on the team, much the same way Emma worked in Morrison's New X-Men run. It worked because it made sense with past continuity. And Emma became perhaps the most popular charac...

X-Men General Discussion Reload

Frankly, there is a considerably larger amount of support going AGAINST his current characterization than IN FAVOR of it. Both in canon and among the masses of fans who have followed the character intimately. And I am not asking for the old Iceman back. I am asking for an Iceman that makes sense. Wh...

Crawler, please don't read into my statement. I know you are super-defensive of Austen's work and assume that people are intending to insult him. I never implied this Iceman wasn't real, though, so that's a really poor word choice, on your part. The fact of the matter is simply that I prefer the way...

X-Men General Discussion Reload

So, any characters people want to see Milligan keep/drop/bring in to the book? Personally, I'm hoping he wants to keep Iceman around and correct his personality. he's been quite a chore to read for a while now. Otherwise, I kind of don't care, though I'd like to see Havok, Juggernaut and Polaris han...

Astonishing X-Men General Discussion

I liked this third issue a lot. I'm very happy with the last two issues of this series and have a lot of hope for the direction Whedon is taking this team in.

I didn't know Green was off the book, but his work thus far had been below his own average.

And is Micheal Ryan the guy who did Cable and Iron Man back in the day, because that guy's stuff was cool. I love the style, so I hope it is the same guy.

Did anyone else think the Impossible Man's stuffed versions of the Exiles in #49 were just cuter than life? Namora was my favorite, with her little frown and her little crossed arms...:LOL

Introduce Yourselves!!

How rude of me to be here so long and never once introduce myself. Hi, I'm KurtnMeggan. If it easy obvious, I fell in love with Kurt during his Excalibur days (though reading back issues only strengthened that love) and think Brian should have let Meggan have a real man all that time ago;) I also li...

Spidey, The Musical?

I do NOT have a good feeling about this. Now, if years from now, I stumble out of this show onto Broadway in sheer joy, I'll happily eat my words.

Until then, I've thought about this and the superhero genre is not meant for the stage.

Next villain Spider-Man 3

I kinda hope Raimi and Co. stick to just Harry as the "bad guy" in the third movie just because the Batman franchise proves that having too many bad guys in each movie can detract from the overall product and lead the franchise (and movie) astray. That said, I think now would be a fine tim...

I'm sorry, but I'm still unclear what you're with me on...that Chuck gets baited in his interviews or that the person conducting the interview (Erik?) intentionally (seemingly) avoided using the term "troll?"

I thought this issue was superb and respond in kind with others that this has been perhaps the most enjoyable story on this book in years, thus far. And yes, Alan Davis DOES love Kurt and CAN carry a mood. He and his colorist did amazing things this issue that really made the story stunning, without...

That's a good point. In many cases, Austen's stories would make more sense in his interviews when he discussed them than in print month to month (or week to week, as shipping dates were so flexible during his run).

The Lightning Rod: Austen Interview Gen. Discussion

Bamfette, I agree to a point that Chuck does constantly get baited in his interviews about "the trolls," but the interviewer seemed to avoid the term intentionally. And oh yes, many were pissed about the Disney-fying of Beast! I hate it still and want him back to being Wolverine-looking ag...

The Lightning Rod: Austen Interview Gen. Discussion

I think Chuck always gives terrible interviews, personally. This one is yet another one. It's not an attack against him, but he seems incapable of doing anything with his detractors but further alienating them by insulting them or their arguments against him. I'm not a big fan of Chuck's work on X-M...

I'd have to reread X-Treme #3 to see exactly, but I seem to recall it as having been a secondary mutation, like Emma's.

I liked the second issue much better myself. Everything just seemed to click better. And Lockheed's return was great!

And as for Beast, I'm just glad he's being sort of included. He's seemed lost in the background a lot in recent years.

I wasn't aware Austen would be departing so soon. I mean, 164 is only six months away.

I wonder if the incoming writer plans to keep the same cast?
