Re: AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser I

Nope. I don't see how anyone who could blithely say stuff about places to be and people to kill could possible be the same person as Kurt Wagner. Well, it depends on your definition of "same person". Their genetic potential is the same. The evolving story of Darkhölme vs. Wagner is one of...

What are you reading and why? (Comic recommendations!)

Irredeemable/Incorruptible are sister series. Irredeemable is basically what if a Superman type character (The Plutonian) reaches his breaking point and just SNAPS. He goes on a rampage, obliterating entire cities, and killing all his old teammates, who are at a loss as to how to stop him. Incorrup...

Characters that didn't interest you before, but are now growing on you.

Batman. I've been all over him for about a month now, when I never had much interest before. Every book he's been in, I liked. (Even JLI.)

The New 52: Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E

oh, and another thing that Lemire ahs said in interviews that has me really intrigued? Frank is made up of bits and pieces of lots of people right? well, Lemire said he'd be exploring the past lives of all of Frank's parts, and how they contribute the him as a whole. Whoa. The first issue was inter...

The Great 2011 DC Relaunch - 52 New #1's in September

I was less-enthused about the selection this week, not sure if that is just my mood or what. Good 1. Batman and Robin 2. Frankenstein 3. Red Lanterns Okay 4. Green Lantern 5. Batwoman - This book is just not my style. Feels flighty and unfocused. 6/7. Resurrection Man/Grifter - Honestly, I'm having ...

The New 52: Green Lantern

Okay long story short (too late!) Johns intriduced the ROYGBIV emotional spectrum, the corresponding lantern corps & their avatars. Krona a renegade guardian collected the avatars and used them to seize control of the guardians & the Green Lantern Corps. During the melee that followed Mogo ...

The New 52: Swamp Thing

Thanks guys! I think a big thing is that I am 100% new to Swamp Thing, so I don't know the mythos at all. But I'm willing to give it a try :). The first issue was interesting enough to keep me for at least the next few. All I knew was that there was some kind of mystical thing that lived in the swa...

The New 52: Animal Man

It's occurred to me that the sense of deja vu might have been partially due to reading Sweet Tooth 1-24 the day before Animal Man 1. Same writer, and maybe a similar feel.

The New 52: Red Lanterns

I liked everything about this, which surprised me after seeing Milligan's name on the cover. The vicious costumed kitty at the beginning set the tone. I don't really have much to say about it, but it was one of my favorites for the week. Interesting set-up and I want to see where it's going. I didn'...

The New 52: Batman and Robin

This was really well done, in a totally creepy skin-crawling way. There's a major sense of foreboding hanging over everything in this book. Damian comes off as a little psychopath, and Bruce is trying to teach him his own code of ethics. They have a really interesting dynamic. Is Damian a completely...

(Re-) Introduce Yourself!

I'm Spaz or Draz, 27 years old. I work in a university in South Korea as a language instructor. It's pretty sweet, but I'm looking forward to quitting and moving to Germany. I tried really hard to like teaching but I just don't. I like the students, I like my coworkers, and I like the English langua...

Has she ever played a character who wasn't a total bitch though? Maybe she just takes her job a little too seriously.

I'm hoping to get out of my English teacher rut and get a real job when I move to Germany so I joined a professional organization. I decided to do a practice run in Korea and go to one of their meet-ups. What the hell right. I was expecting the usual bores pretending to be professional (you know, li...

Why bother mourning when they know he's coming back soon? Oooooh.

I want to hear more about Amanda's coma. I can't stand that woman.

I actually took out a line about fanfic writers out of that post. I thought it might be a bit too mean, you know not showing sufficient respect for the hard work they do.

AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser Image

I thought it was just a joke meant to highlight the (somewhat inappropriate) closeness of AoA Mystique to her son. A way of saying, hey everybody this is a different universe where she DID NOT throw him off a cliff as a newborn.

What If Marvel Did a New 52?

The idea of Marvel attempting a universe-wide reboot makes me shiver. They should wait until they can get the little ones right before they go really crazy. I was stunned to check out a weeks worth of the New 52 from DC and find that a lot of it was actually really good. You mean reboot doesn't have...

If You Could Change Kurt...

I still think X2 Nightcrawler was gross. The problem with the accent is that it is entirely unnatural to have perfect American style grammar yet still have a ridiculous exaggerated accent. He sounded like an American pretending to be German as a joke. (VE HAF VAYS OFF MAKING YOU TOCK.) He uses uncom...

AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser Image

Maybe the tattoo mystery will finally be solved! Wolverine had one too, which is something he would normally heal. I still like my old idea about how bringing Kurt back from the dead would trigger a massive crisis of faith after which he would be a normal person again. Whether because of his half-de...

New Musicians -- WHO DO YOU LIKE?

I didn't start out seeking out German music specifically. I definitely do it now though. I'll check those out too, thanks. :)

I have lots of English-speaking German bands I could recommend too, but I haven't been listening to them so much lately.

AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser Image

You may be getting your Nightcrawler fix with Darkholme, but to me, he is Nightcrawler in look and code name only. Completely different character and in some instances even diametrically opposite. I feel like a kid whose parents try to pass off a lookalike with opposite personality as the dog they ...
