the official LOST on 'scrawlers thread *SPOILERS*

Netflicks. I've saved plenty of money renting up to 3 DVD's at a time, watching obsessively, getting them in the mail promptly, and thereby viewing a whole season of TV in a couple weeks. It's a LOT cheaper than buying most TV. If I know I'll watch it more than o nce (Firefly) I'll buy, but if I jus...

Hey! I own those pants! I use them as part of my pirate costume. :LOL

BTW - your Nighty looks fantastic. I love the shot of you with Sparrow.

NIGHTCRAWLER's best friend....

I agree - I've always thought they'd be a perfect pairing for a limited series.

Do people *know* that you're a Nightcrawler fan?

Most of my friends who are into comics are so defensive about still reading picture books at thier age, that they brush off the mainstream books (which of course they still secretly read) and brag about the indie ones. Once, when we were talking about good old fashioned spandex clad superhero fun, t...

X3 Casting

I hope someone more informed can help me out here. I thought it was long since confirmed Alan Cumming wouldn't be in X3. Now, a friend of mine assures me he's heard Nightcrawler was recast and will be in a few small X3 scenes. I hunted around on google and found plenty of information both confirming...

Kurt's love interest?

I re-read the Ultimate X-Men "Return of the King" TPB last night (TBP's are a perfect length for indulging in a nice, long, hot soak) and thought of this discussion. I think the writers portray him as different ages. It's a bit of a continuity glitch, but I enjoy the series enough to let i...

Comic Book Readers without the Y Chromosome

Kid Friendly Comic Moment: I was in the Good Comic Shop, the one that all comic store owners should intern in for a season to learn How To Do It Right. A young couple came in with their absolutely adorable toddler daughter. Mom looked for the DC titles, Dad looked for the Marvel titles, and the thre...

Comic Book Readers without the Y Chromosome

A friend of mine offered me a subscription to Uncanny for the holidays. She didn't understand when I thanked her profusely but said no, no, I NEED to go to the comic shops! If you just stick with the main titles, you'll miss all the mini-series and indy titles and wacky things (like the new Tick ser...

Kurt's love interest?

Let's see, they started publishing Ultimate X-Men in 2000, right? So if we weren't dealing with MarvelTime(TM) he'd be 19 by now. Barely legal. That's one of the fun things about reading comics. Nightcrawler was way too old for me when I first started reading. Now, he's way too young for me. ;) I st...

Nacht's super cool FV&TTT Fic challenge #1!!

Extending it for a little longer (at least until House of M is over) might be a good idea. With the shocking encouragment of my boyfriend, I'm trying NaNoWriMo...only a month early, and all by myself. If you haven't heard about it, National Novel Writing Month ( www.nanowrimo.org ) is a challenge to...

Kurt's love interest?

That's one of the issues I have with Ultimate!Kurt. I've always seen him as this basically good looking guy who happens to be blue and furry. The "monsterousness" was all in the most casual of perception, but anyone who stopped to look beyond the fur, hands and tail would see a real hunk. ...

Cartoons about Kurt as a kid

That's adorable! You do such a fantastic job of portraying how a normal kid would react to having Kurt's appearance and abilities. The strip is a great demonstration that realism does not necessarily have to equal angst. I love this lighter side of Kurt! :LOL

Uncanny X-Men General Discussion Reload

My local comic store didn't get in this week's Uncanny, Hulk, or a few other titles. I wouldn't normally care about the Hulk, but the HoM tie in has been pretty decent. I'm dying to know what's happening in Uncanny, though. I've got a soft spot for Nocturne and I'm really curious how they're going t...

House of M

I just read # 6. Kurt gets a line! Two whole words! And really, compared to the (lack of) action in the rest of the book, he's not doing badly. Pietro is apparently mute and poor Wanda (who the Hype Machine said would finally make an appearance in this issue) is hidden behind the Manchurian Headdres...

I'm glad to hear people have sent clothes! I just can't imagine losing my home, all my worldly goods, and literally being told to wear a garbage bag in 100+ degree heat down in Houston. It's insult to injury for people who have lost everything. I'm thrilled to hear you ladies could help. I think it'...

Comic circa Excalibur is my fave, though he's had some good moments. Any scene with a cheerful, Swashbuckling Kurt makes me a happy reader. I'm optimistic that he'll have some humorous appearances in the New Excalibur since Nocturne is on the team.

Astonishing X-Men General Discussion

I loved the first six issues of Astonishing, even though it was far from my choice of team. The second arc seemed a little contrived after the wonder that was the first, but the characterizations kept me picking it up time and again. The cliffhanger at the end of # 12 was great. It ensured I'll be p...

Any holiday where I can get a couple dozen adults to dress like a pirate on a random day in September is a good holiday. In fact, my boyfriend and I are throwing our second Annual TLAP party in a couple weeks. I was *amazed* last year by how much people loved it. Without any prompting on my part, ab...

Nacht's super cool FV&TTT Fic challenge #1!!

This Thursday is going to be HoM-O-Riffic, with House of M # 6 plus five tie-ins, including Uncanny. I'm really looking forward to it, as I am in serious need of some escapism right now. Hopefully, the M-Overdose will trigger something in my brain. :D And Nacht, I want to say Thank You for putting u...
