Dave Cockrum has passed away
I know I haven’t posted in quite a while, but I do pop in to read when I can find the time. The news of Dave's passing saddens me more than words can say. There is a longing in many of use to do something that will make a difference in this world, but few of us ever realize that dream. Whether or ...

How can you tell that the 80's are back?
Gotta love MC Hammer, his videos where the best. Here's a tamer view of parachute pants . Apparently they must be back, or maybe they've always been available. And roller discos were still around in the eighties, popularized by the movie Xanadu, which came out in 1980. I know because some of my firs...

Not only does he get to be in just about every X-book at once, but now Wolverine gets all the women too?
Unbelievable.

I believe that was Academy X, but I don't get that book so I'm not sure. I did see a preview that he was said to be the drama teacher fairly recently, but I don't remember which issue.

I live in Florida. Air plants grow everywhere for the taking down here, and they still sell them in giftshops and yes, even Walmarts. I don't think they ever went out of vogue in this state. ;) I think you're right about the 80's. I hear Rubik Cubes are back. Next we'll be seeing parachute pants, pa...

Talking about odd cats, here's a link a friend of mine posted in her LJ the other day - Cyclops kitten Although there is a question that this picture is legit, these things do happen occasionally. The college where I teach has a fairly large collection of preserved zoological samples. One of these s...

The fact that Claremont is leaving doesn’t surprise me in the least, considering where the X-Universe in general is heading. For more than six months the stories Claremont intended have been hijacked by micromanaging group of dictators that think they can write the stories better. And if you donâ€...

Oh rats, I was going to post that story about glow-in-the-dark pigs but Garble beat me to it.
Don't ask me about the usefullness of flourescent green pigs. Sheep would have been more interesting. I'd love to have a glow-in-the-dark sweater.

Thanks Rowena! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I snagged the idea for judging time travel through the positions of the stars from the Dragonriders of Pern series. From what I know about astronomy, it seemed feasible. I am already outlining ideas for telling Kurt’s story in a series of vignettes, if I find ...

Very sweet, and I'm glad you reposted it, because I've never read it before.
Rowena, you should post more of your Kurt/Ororo stories over at Kuroro faith LJ community. It might help renew interest. Heaven knows we shippers are starving for some new material.

Storm's future (SPOILERS)
This idea is so unoriginal it's pathetic. And I'm not just upset because I'm a Kuroro fan. Storm has always been my favorite female X-man, but I don't like Black Panther and I really resent having to buy another comic that I would never have purchased just to see what's happening to her. After Excal...

Thanks, I'm so glad you enjoyed the story. I had a lot of fun with this one and I have considered writing a couple of tales of swashbuckling Kurt in the 1600's. Angelique, I'm always up for improving my German, although I will admit that a couple of things I used were classic comic Kurt. U2U me wher...

I think there was a court-type scene with Juggy and She-Hulk towards the end of Austen's run on Uncanny, issue #435 or 436? I believe She-Hulk acted as Cain's attorney. Hope that helps.

The movie was surprisingly wonderful. I was a little suspicious when I found out that Disney was producing this movie. They have the propensity to make major revisions in their screenplays. To my delight, they didn’t change anything major. To be honest, I think the White Witch could have been more f...

Awesome Christmas/Chanuka gifts
Hubby got an extra big Christmas bonus this year, so he got me something I always wanted but couldn't afford, a HP pocket computer and a one gig card to go with it. Now I can write when we are traveling and I don't have to retype it on my computer, plus I can use it as an ipod as well. XD
