Who knew? 'White coat' history.

Since I actually wear a white coat... The pros: - It has my name on it. I could wear a name tag, but it's on my coat... so I don't have to. - It has pockets. My lab coat at school weighed about 8 pounds because we had to carry EVERYTHING we (or the attendings, residents, or interns) might need. Calc...

As it turns out, I am getting paid to play with puppies and kittens all day!

And here I'd been propagating the rumor that that's not what vets do. oops.

I would really really like a six week holiday in Europe, but it's not going to happen any time soon. However, I don't care because being a veterinarian is the most awesome fucking job on the planet! I was supposed to be there to hang with my mentor doctor in the morning on his surgery day. Except mo...

BullShit!!! Penn & Teller tell it as it is!

This is because their threads all consisted of posts calling the moderators bad names. So they were moved. Apparently, the subject of Penn & Teller is the only one in which JokeDiety could engage in civilized discussion. I like Penn & Teller too, but ... Oh well. Too bad. So sad. Buh-bye. :)...

I like Skottie Young's art quite a bit but the writing was very slow and so ... old school.

I'd almost like to see more of it just to figure out whether I like it. I almost couldn't generate an opinion from that preview.

Yikes. Kind of makes you wish he'd peed the bed doesn't it?

I don't normally have ass tasting coffee, but I will admit the move logistics thing is getting old. I'm coordinating two different truck companies at two different locations, I keep having to go back and forth to the different locations to deal with it, and I'm trying to pack and get things ready at...

My move appears to be proceeding on schedule. And my big kitty tattoo is finished and it looks cool. BIG KITTEH! I've been a doctor for a week and a half now and it's been pretty good so far. It's a lot like not being a doctor was actually. Though I expect that will change when I actually start work...

My Nightcrawler Costume!

I think you did great! I think that one of the toughest things to do when building a costuming is to mimic animated or drawn images with fabric. Comic book costumes don't have seams, aren't subject to gravity, and often are drawn on impossibly proportioned anatomy. So it's always impressive when I s...

Obama vetoes Mutant Registration Act; puts Claremont out of work

If only he'd adopted a shelter dog instead of going for the purebred - he wouldn't have ended up with a mutant for a dog.

LOL! Hilarious.

Why not just get an actual hula hoop?

(I can't figure out why people who love Guitar Hero don't just learn guitar either...)

I can't say I don't entirely disagree with Croc (it does seem like you are asking us to do your homework) but I would have said it nicer.

That's a polite hint to please say things nicely even if a ruder version is more true. Croc. ;)

Hand Creams (Cremes?) what do you use?

In the clinic I was washing my hands around 10 - 20 times per day so dryness was a problem. The Body Shop's Hemp Hand Protector was very popular at the vet school. Most of us (including me) had a tube of it hanging around. It completely fixes chapped hands from over washing. I used to have terrible ...

I like your blog.

I had no idea you knew so much about Golden Age comics. I'm trying to write something coherent about why I think blogging about comics from this era is cool and it's just not happening.

So - please keep blogging and I will continue to collect my thoughts.

The GUTHRIE Family

The Guthries were featured in Chuck Austen's Uncanny arc (#437-#441): "She Lies with Angels" which is based (very loosely) on Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet". In this case it's the Guthries (a lot of mutants) vs. the Cabots (anti-mutant white supremacists). The Guthrie's are jus...
