I wish I could go....

My daughter had a slumber party for her 13th birthday. We all survived.

Furthermore, regarding this most important book that I've started... I finished! Now it's just a matter of hurrying up and waiting for the artists to finish working their magic. And so far, the pages look beautiful!

I'm exhausted for the best possible reasons. Over the past four days, between work, getting the kids to school, running in the annual 343 Miles for 343 Brothers, and such, I finished twelve pages for what may be the most important book yet of my writing career. Saturday, one of my good friends broke his leg. Sunday, his five year old daughter passed away.

I'm gutted.

Well, the good news is that my cat Crookshanks is home from the vet, made it through surgery okay, and is responding well to his pain medication and antibiotics. Bad news is that the starlings that swarmed him, pecked and bit him, and got him into this mess still won't leave my back yard.

Scummy, it sounds like you did brilliantly. If it were me, I would have skipped right to screaming like a berzerker and employing the same amount of force right at the ass grab- my tolerance for sexual battery being nonexistent. I hope you got proper treatment and are resting your hand.

My daughter's got a head start on her teenage years. It will take a miracle if we both survive to her thirteenth birthday.
