Do people *know* that you're a Nightcrawler fan?
Zam, if I may quote, "Impressive. Most impressive." :vader And yes, there are quite a few fencers on this board. I'm also a sabrist, but a bizarre condition that affects my hands has induced me to learn the other weapons. (More fun to be adaptable. And this hopefully means I'll be able to ...

the official LOST on 'scrawlers thread *SPOILERS*
Yes, it is. However, my husband and I took the less expensive option and taped every episode last season. And to officially celebrate on Wednesday, we broke open a new case of beer and blank VHS's.

Do people *know* that you're a Nightcrawler fan?
Well, it tends to come as a huge shock to absolutely no one that knows me when they find out I like Nightcrawler. Considering my husband and I march in parades as X-wing pilots, I once dressed my six month old baby up as "0.7 of 9" and took her to a Star Trek convention, and I designed my ...

ANNOUNCEMENT: Hurricane Rita
Well, it's that time of year. Last I heard, Rita got upgraded again. And while it looks like Louisiana will be spared Rita's worst (from my mouth to God's ear!), even the tropical storm force winds and rains on its fringes will be, I do believe, more than that place can handle right now.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Hurricane Rita
Rita's been upgraded to a Cat 3 and is anticipated to be a Cat 4 by landfall. The citizens of Galveston, TX, as well as the Louisianans who are finding themselves displaced yet again are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm getting hitched on Sunday (now with pics!)
You know, despite the fact that my wedding was a nice (and inexpensive) little Catholic ceremony that was all the more fun because we let family and friends handle all the stuff that professionals charge through the nose for, I was quite glad to have the wedding over with. Being married has proven t...

On to more pleasant things, thanks to not-so-Lovely Rita, my brother-in-law's plans to rescue his artwork and supplies before heading up here may be stymied.

Comic Book Readers without the Y Chromosome
My experiences have generally been very, very good in my area. The one I go to that is farthest from where I live is actually owned by some old friends of my in-laws. (And they had a big old dog named Chewbacca that my kids totally loved.) Another one a bit closer, where I have a club membership, is...

Introduce Yourselves!!
I guess I am lucky. The three comic book stores I frequent (one just five blocks away, one 50 miles, and the third 70 miles away) are all very friendly, family-owned and -operated places where I could even :surprise take my kids! Anyway, I know I've introduced myself on other threads, but here goes....

mysteries of the natural world (cryptozoology, new species,
A waterfall that can petrify objects left in it is not too far fetched. Nobody's allowed to do this anymore- bad for the ecosystem. But some of the springs at Yellowstone are so rich in minerals (and other things we really shouldn't mess with) that objects left in them could petrify overnight.

What do you think would be the craziest Danger Room combat simulation for a single mutant to take on? I have a scenario in my head in which Nightcrawler witnesses another mutant, with whose powers he is only vaguely familiar, attempting something so dangerous he thinks she's got a death wish. And, w...

The FV & TTT Social Thread
Thanks for putting my post in its rightful place. The cute kid quote was my four year old trying to impersonate Ben Grimm. As for the fencing, I had done a bit of sabre as a teenager, just for fun. Then with the onset of my illness, I couldn't even hold a pen to sign my medical forms, let alone hold...

This can only help me write better fic!
I finally joined up with our local fencing club today! I was just so excited to pick up my sabre again (and get whacked around a bit), I just had to share. Even better, I brought my husband, and he's already proven to be better with the sabre than me! (Not that that's saying much, but yeah, it was t...

12. Start an Orc sing-a-long.
Oh, man you had to remind me of that! Maybe I'm dating myself, but now that I'm reminded of the animated version of Return of the King, I'm going to have nightmares all over again about an orc chorus singing disco.

The Temporal Comedy - Love Enough for Time
Again, all characters except the Altheim family belong to Marvel. No money is made off my humble attempts at ficcing. Don't steal the Altheims, and please, I need feedback! (Particularly as I may need some help with chronology. This is setup for a story that I will finish in the future.) I also owe ...

Kurt's love interest?
Yeah, I really had no problem with the whole Nighty-as-priest deal. Truth is, the priesthood isn't just for socially inept, plain-looking guys who can't get a date. Funny thing is, I knew a guy in high school. He was easy to talk to, had a wonderfully zany sense of humor, was a generally happy-go-lu...

When Kurt Met Kassi (PG for a bit of language)
This is actually a flashback in a much longer and more complex story that is still in progress. But I liked this so much, I couldn't wait to post it. And of course, the usual Spiel. I don't own the characters Nightcrawler or Feuer Langhagen, though I wish I did. No money is being made off of my scri...
