Anyone else think that the Decimation should be retconned?
The only plan with HoM and Decimation was "putting the genie back in the bottle" for Joe Q. He thought there were too many mutants, so whittling down the population to an unsustainable number that would die out in a generation if the remaining long-lived mutants got killed was the solution...

Anyone else think that the Decimation should be retconned?
Takin' this shit way too literally man. It's a comic book. Maybe they're purposely throwing you off? Maybe they want you to think Hope is the DEM? But she's not, and she's just a catalyst for something even bigger?? Also; Jamie's de-powered as well--I believe? Even if Hope isn't the DEM, she's a Mc...

Anyone else think that the Decimation should be retconned?
Hope + Second Coming Event/Decimation aftermath = DEUS ex machina. Dude, DEM's aren't BAD they're just annoying if they're insulting to the reader (in that there's a better way out [See "Clone Saga"]) or they are constructed frequently in a story. A DEM for a post-mutant race wipe out? No...

And I repeat: "They're going extinct until a deus ex machina changes the rules to allow for the passing of the X-gene." While a tool of the medium, I'm of the opinion that the DEM should be used sparingly. There's no drama to be had when the audience knows any major problem will be fixed b...

Anyone else think that the Decimation should be retconned?
Here's the problem: Mutants aren't a savable endangered species. They're going to die off, period. It doesn't matter if their enemies kill them faster; they're going extinct until a deus ex machina changes the rules to allow for the passing of the X-gene. That doesn't create fear. That creates despa...

Anyone else think that the Decimation should be retconned?
I think it was a desperately needed attempt to downsize a way too-large breed of people. Sixteen million, which is approximately how many mutants there were before Decimation, out of six billion isn't a very large group. That's 0.267% of the world's population, a tiny minority. To put that in persp...

X-Men: 2nd Coming (SAY WHAAAA)
I had completely forgotten that the original Nimrod had three fingers. Bastion, however, has always had five fingers on both hands. After Kurt teleported Bastion's left arm off, it grew back with a three-fingered hand. Bastion seemed rather surprised by that, if the art was an accurate indication. ...

Sorry for the confusion. The sentinels are Nimrods. That's actually what they're called. That name continues to amuse me far more than it probably should. :smirk I'm still pulling for Kurt's goodness to beat them from the inside. Alas, I fear it won't result in some grand deus ex machina move by Hop...

And in one issue it's the source of the other sphere trapping them on San Francisco (Even though I thought they were on Utopia, is that in SF?) Utopia is a couple miles off the coast of San Francisco, which is why it makes no logical sense for it to be recognized as an independent nation of any kin...

How should nightcrawler return?
From Brevoort's Formspring (one of my follow-up questions): Re: Needing to "make the best calls he can" in "the heat of the moment." - Ariel, Pixie, and Vanisher were still available and could've fetched Hope in seconds with 2 jumps. What made Kurt, who needed many exhausting jum...

How should nightcrawler return?
Is there a single character that has died and hasn't come back? Uncle Ben doesn't count as having been brought back, as he was only back in the House of M reality. So at the moment there is one character who's stayed dead. Mammomax. Did Maggot get temp-rezzed during Necrosha? I can't remember. If n...

How should nightcrawler return?
4. A reality-warper remakes him. 5. Somebody goes back in time and saves him. 6. The piece left in Bastion takes over, remakes Bastion's body in Kurt's image, and the Blue Fairy makes him into a real boy. {sigh} Where's Jamie Braddock when ya need him? It seems the Scarlet Witch is making her retur...

How should nightcrawler return?
Unfortunately, I really believe that Nightcrawler's death was one of the best comics we've seen for him in the past few years. It was rather well-written (except for the continuity errors and the issue with the way his teleporting works -- but that's never really been officially nailed down). It wa...

No, I'm right. He is a jackass. Here is one of his latest Q&A answers on Formspring: Question: I feel Nightcrawler's death harmed Kurt and Scott. Scott sent a short-range combat 'porter (Kurt) instead of a long-range transportation 'porter (Pixie) to get Hope. It hurts their credibility as lead...

What would really be bad is if Hope brings him back before the end, and he ends up sacrificing his life for her dumb butt again.

No problem.
I've sent a couple questions so far and am pondering another. He seems to answer around the same time of day everyday, so I wouldn't be surprised if timing plays a factor in what questions he answers first. Maybe he sees the most recent questions first?

Has she appeared with her powers after House of M? Even if she's alive, it's likely she's now powerless. Marvel needs to stop running simultaneous events because it's getting hard to tell when what happens. It seems Siege must have been before Second Coming since Scott, Emma, and Rogue appear at the...

From what I gather, the questions aren't supposed to appear right away. They go to him, and he can choose when/if to answer them. He mentioned in an answer to an older question that he gets something like 300 questions each day and that getting an answer to your question could take weeks.
