Nightcrawler #1 - #4 disscussion

So, I just finished issue #4. And then I reread the first 4 issues in one sitting. [spoiler]Storm's words to Kurt at the end of the arc sum up Kurt's role perfectly...he couldn't save the kid on his own, but it was his knowledge of what all his friends were capable of and his quick thinking that did...

I doubt it will be anything that recent, especially since he's wearing the classic costume. Personally, I think Uncanny X-Men #204 would be an ideal choice, since it's basically a solo issue with him in Murderworld. Of course, they could always go the posterbook route instead...they seem to be doing...

Darick, WonderCon 2005?

Actually, this is the best spot to post this question, but you may get a quicker response by posting on Darick's forum: http://www.darickr.com/speak/

And then someone can post a follow-up here, because inquiring minds want to know.

The first pic of Series 9 has surfaced, and Nightcrawler is indeed in the classic costume:

And Mystique is supposedly in Series 11, I think...or she's in 10 and Scarlet Witch is in 11...can't remember at the moment.

All I did was ask for a picture of Wanda, TJ and Kurt in a "family portrait" style, with TJ looking like most teens would at a forced family picture. He added the idea of it being the Holiday card, and I think it's perfect. The only piece of art I got all year, but what a piece to get. :)

A Question of Storage

The best way to store comics are in specialty bags, boards and boxes. They are avaiable from most comic shops and sometimes card shops...every so often they'll pop up in dept stores, but the quality is usually much worse. A bag of 100 bags will usually be in the $4-$6 range, 100 boards $7-$10, and a...

UXM issue 455 preview.

Wolverine has to be in the three core X-Men books...it's like one of the Ten Commandments at Marvel. But really, he fits here, and he fits in Astonishing. And actually, Austen was able to put him to good use in the latest arc in adjectiveless X-Men (which also has Iceman in it, BTW).

Cannonball is also on the Uncanny team, but is still recouperating from their run in with the Fury a few issues back. I actually like the size of the team as it is...no one really gets lost between main plot and subplot (which has happened to Nightcrawler on several occassions). Besides, there are t...

I've always enjoyed Carlos D'Anda's stuff...I really wish he'd get more projects. And the Silver Banshee is one of my favoriter third-tier Supes villains. Is Chuck a closet Creeper fan? Just seems like his stories are the only ones that Jack Ryder even pokes his head into anymore...

Nightcrawler #1 - #4 disscussion

Considering how much Randy and Don have been dreading the X-Glut, to get 7s and 8s is stellar. I think the only Marvel books to get higher marks in recent memory have been Ultimate Spider-Man, The Pulse (both of which are by Bendis, and those two have a love of the Indy guy done good), Runaways and ...

I've got a Juggernaut sitting here, so I'm pretty sure he's part of this wave. ;) The variants are blue and tan Cable (aka Liefeld Cable aka New Mutants Cable) and Dark Phoenix. Deadpool and Phoenix are 1 per case, Juggernaut and Cable are 2 per case, and Wolverine and Movie Punisher are 3 per case,...

Random bits to fill in the gaps... In addition to Transmetropolitan, Born, and Wolverine, Darick also worked on New Warriors, taking over for Mark Bagley (who at that time went to Amazing Spider-Man, and has since gone on to Ultimate Spider-Man). I don't know why everyone skips over this...I mean......

See, for being done in 5 minutes, that's decent. Give Darick a few hours, and you end up with something like this: http://members.aol.com/nightcrawlerart/consketch/ncrobe1c.jpg Granted, this was done in San Diego 5 years ago...the one major difference I've noticed is that the 2004 Kurt is a bit thin...

Except that matter cannot be created nor destroyed, only transformed. Kurt doesn't actually discorporate and reform when he teleports...he remains intact. Theoretically, the molecules of whatever he 'ported into would be displaced by his body, and then violently snap back into place, effectively liq...

How much have you spent on Nightcrawler?

Pfft...the highest category is $100.00 or more? When I saw the topic, I thought there would at least be Gold ($500) and Platinum ($1000) levels. I've spent over $1000 on original art alone (it's pricey!). But I did turn around and sell two of the pieces for over $1000 each...does that mean I have to...

As long as it means monthly Kitty, I'm for it

I'm just hoping this means we get Kitty Pryde back on the scene on a regular basis. I enjoyed Mekanix (even though the ending seemed a lot rushed) and God Loves, Man Kills 2 (moreso for the Kitty/Stryker stuff than the mandatory Logan/Deathstrike). Kitty's one of the few characters in the Marvel Uni...

Can Kurt bamf in and out of water?

My theory is that he could teleport out of it, but he could only teleport into it if it was shallow. The problem with teleporting into solid matter is that there's no way to force the matter to displace. Air can be displaced. Theoretrically, if he was to teleport into like the upper 20 ft of water (...
