5/23 Game: Destruction Cometh

Post by Slarti »

Timelined Thursday, April 14

Miranda: "Okay, so do we have to do that, like, all the time? I mean, I like theater as much as the next girl, but all in bear costumes? That's crazy!" Miranda shook her head, closing the door of the van behind her as everyone got out.

Anna: Anna giggled, "I think it's brilliant, makes a nice change from classess."

Jason: "It brought a whole new level to 'exit, pursued by bear." Jason's eyes rolled. "But yes, I feel as if I've lost more than a few brain cells even walking into the doors to that. I can only hope the next time I see a bear it will be a real one."

Miranda: "Well, Professor Howlett said he wanted us to have a 'cultural experience,'" she made air quotes. "Guess that qualifies."

Anna: "Ah it was fun," Anna grinned, "We can only assume I have no braincells to lose." She poked her tongue out.

Miranda: Miranda stopped when she got to the door and turned around. She so didn't want to be the one to set off whatever creepy-ass rocket launcher security system they had wired to the door knob.

Jason: "That simply must be the case." he snorted. "Oh, I feel terribly culturally enriched now. Perhaps I shall go 'frolicking' in the woods and see if I can't find Winnie." His eyes rolled and stepped up to enter the password of the night...only. "Did we forget to lock up on our way out?"

Selene: "That certainly was an enlightening experience." Selene commented. "Although, bears in the wild are definitely more interesting. And considerably less scary."

Miranda: "Oh, bother." Miranda giggled, then wrinkled her nose and looked up at Jason. "What?"

Anna: Anna looked at the door, "Er... don't know... must've done..." she shrugged, "oh well maybe no one'll notice...?"

Kyle: "I liked it." Kyle admitted, "To me the bears were the sense of all savagery writhing each man trying to break free in an institutionalized society that punished those who did not live up to their standards within modern day life."

Jason: "No, I kno-" Jason cut off, turning to look at Kyle. "...where in the hell did you get the LSD in intermission?"

Miranda: Miranda hadn't known Kyle for long, but that made her look away from the door.

Anna: Anna turned her head to stare at Kyle, "Who are you and what have you done with Kyle?"

Miranda: "What's 'institutionalized' mean?"

Selene: Selene frowned at the open door, before she glanced to the side and instead frowned at Kyle. "Did you eat the real Kyle?" She asked. "And I'm absolutely sure that I got no bears inside me, in any way."

Kyle: Kyle looked up from the pamphlet he held, "Huh?" he held up the booklet he was reading outloud.

Hepzibah: Hepzibah turned around and stared at Kyle for several seconds. "You save up all your smarts for those flashes of brillance don't you?" She tilted his head to the side to try and look in his ear.

Jason: "What we are." Jason supplied, looking back to the security pad, giving it a poke. Not only was it on but it wasn't turning on. "Okay...that's not a good thing."

Selene: "It's wasn't me." Selene tossed in quickly, looking at Jason.

Anna: Anna looked at Jason again, "What's not good?"

Miranda: That just confused her more as she looked at Jason, then realized he seemed distracted and looked at the door. "Maybe Brainiac over there can fix it?" She pointed at Kyle.

Selene: "As much as I appreciate a cerebral discussion, such braininess is not what I like you for." Selene remarked, giving Kyle a sideways glance as a smirk curled her lips.

Hepzibah: Frowning, Hepz stared at Jason. "What exactly is wrong? Can't we get inside?"

Kyle: Kyle just looked confused around, "Huh?" he repeated.

Jason: "I know this thing was on when we left." Jason looked up at the school. Lights were on, so it wasn't that the power was out and even then they had back ups. "Well, if we can then absolutely everyone can."

Anna: Anna frowned, "Maybe we should just try going in and telling someone it's broken?"

Hepzibah: "Wait...you're saying anyone could have just waltz right in while we were gone? Is that what you're saying??" Hepz was always one to assume the worst.

Kyle: "...maybe someone inside turned it off?" Kyle suggested.

Jason: "That is exactly what I'm saying." Jason was right along with Hepzibah in assuming the worst.

Miranda: "...I thought everybody was at the play?" Miranda looked back at the driveway, but no other cars were back.

Hepzibah: "What if someone got in and they're still there??" The fur on her neck started rising and she sniffed the air, trying to scent out a stranger.

Miranda: With Graydon acting crazy now, Miranda found herself edging away from the door to hide behind Jason.

Jason: "Yeah, we're the first ones back I think" Jason looked back to the driveway as well and glanced towards the garage.

Anna: Anna rolled her eyes, "Well then why don't we just go in and look instead of talking about it?"

Hepzibah: Hepz stopped short and her claws unsheathed. "You smell that Fido??"

Jason: "Because I don't want to die a horrible and sticky death?"

Anna: "Sticky? What the hell do you think is in there?" Anna raised an eyebrow at Jason.

Kyle: "Blood," he replied to Hepz, sniffing the air coming from inside the mansion.

Hepzibah: "You two, shut it!!" she snapped at Jason and Anna.

Anna: Anna blinked at Kyle and Hepz, "Rude..." she muttered.

Jason: Jason didn't feel he needed to say anything. He just pointed at Kyle to aid Anna in catching up with what he just said he smelt.

Miranda: Miranda looked around Jason to blink at Kyle and Hepzibah's reactions. "They can go first."

Hepzibah: "I know I didn't sign on for this..." Still, Hepzibah crouched down approached the door. She wished to Hell she had a better vantage point to enter from.

Anna: Anna frowned, "We should still go and see what's going on...."

Jason: "Well, out of all of us you've got the best chances." Jason pointed out helpfully.

Kyle: Kyle pushed his way past the group, sniffing around. His clawed hand was placed on Hepz's shoulder pushing her back so he could walk in first.

Hepzibah: "No, Anna. You should stay here in case Kyle or I - " Wait, Kyle coule heal - "In case I need you in few seconds." She whispered, falling in behind Kyle.

Anna: Anna sighed and folded her arms, "I hate being a healer.... someone's gonna stay with me right?"

Kyle: Kyle peeked his head in, smelling around. Not just blood, but other kinds of fluids that was in a body....a familiar kind of body. A small body of a rabbit, completely cut open, splayed out on the table in the foyer.

Selene: "Maybe we have bears now." Selene suggested as she poked her head inside and looked around suspiciously. "That, or hobos."

Hepzibah: Silently, the feline followed Kyle. "What the Hell??" She stared, open mouthed at the butchered rabbit.

Kyle: Kyle walked in completely towards the table, staring down at the rabbit. First thing that came to his mind was Why cut it like that. All the good parts are spoiled like that. The second thought was. The table cloth's not white anymore. Won't be white again.

Selene: Selene turned her head and narrowed her eyes, giving the same suspicious look to Kyle and Hepzibah. "Is that bunny familiar to you?" She asked.

Miranda: "Oh my God!" Miranda took a few steps in to look, then backed up. "OhmiGod! Poor bunny!"

Hepzibah: This didn't feel like a practical joke, if felt much sicker. She turned to the others. "Are you sure there were not other students here??"

Anna: Anna shuffled towards the door and peered in, "Awww that poor rabbit!"

Kyle: Kyle shook his head at Selene, "Not mine...most of it still here."

Selene: Selene frowned and tilted her head to the side. "I'm not sure. Perhaps that Ronnie person is still in the medlab." She nodded slowly. "That's why I'm suspecting hobos."

Jason: "I'm much less 'poor rabbit' and more 'what the fuck who the hell did this'." Jason did not step towards the rabbit, instead looking around the room trying to make sure they were alone. "Everyone was at the theater...and I'm pretty sure this is beyond most everyone's idea of a good time. We've got most of the wild game hunters right here anyway."

Hepzibah: "I don't kill...not animals anyway." Hepz snarled and covered the rabbit with the edge of the table cloth. No sense in frightening the next round of student to head in the door.

Anna: "But.... who knows this place is here? I thought it was meant to be a secret?" Anna looked at the others, "We're safe here... right?"

Miranda: "I thought that was the whole idea, but Remy's told me about some stuff... and wow..."

Jason: "Don't bother it. Evidence." Jason warned. "Do you smell anything else?" he just looked over at Anna, fighting the desire to roll his eyes. "Shit happens sometimes. This is looking like some of that."

Selene: Selene stepped into the foyer, looked around, and grabbed an umbrella from the metal basket near the door. "No one is safe, no matter where they might be." Selene remarked, not looking up. Instead, she curiously poked the dead, covered rabbit with the end of the umbrella.

Miranda: "Real comforting, Sel," Miranda made a grossed out noise at the poking. "Um... so what do we do?"

Selene: "It doesn't seem to mind being bothered." She tossed in. "I'd say it's really dead, then." Selene took a step back, looking around some more.

Anna: Anna looked around, "Can't see anyone... maybe they left already? When they found no one home...?"

Hepzibah: "Evidence? What we supposed to do call the police??" Hepz circled around as if the person responisble might still be nearby. "Where are the teachers?"

Selene: "Maybe it's their doing?" Selene mused. "Perhaps it's meant as a kind of extreme lesson on the nature of life. Or on the contents of bunnies. Or they just wanted to mess with us..." She shrugged casually.

Kyle: Kyle stared at Selene, then pointed at a little bit of red meat, "That's the heart. It's really dead."
Anna: Anna looked at Selene, "Why? Why would anyone do that?"

Jason: "We can do our own investigation you know." Jason sighed. Getting snippy probably wasn't going to help matters though. "We need to call some of the others perhaps? Warn them that something's up? Then try to make sure the place is clear and put the security back online."

Selene: "Why's everyone looking at me now?" Selene wondered, furrowing her brow. "I already said I got nothing to do with it. And even though it might not seem so, I'm not the resident specialist on psychopaths."

Hepzibah: "To scare us and to send a message, Anna." Hepz frowned darkly. "Question is what is the message and who is it directed at?"

Kraven: They would have found the first of his little surprises by now. They wouldn't be nervous yet, but something primeval would be crawling up their spines by now. And that was good. The more distracted they were, the mre time he had to prepare...things...

Miranda: "That sounds sensible." Miranda nodded and straightened up, rummaging in her purse for her cell.

Anna: "Whatever it is I'm happy not knowing..." Anna muttered, "And if we're going to look around can we get a move on..." She shivered a little glancing at the covered rabbit.

Selene: "In all seriousness, though, I'd assume someone wanted to play us a very mean prank." Selene said and gave a nod. "We should be careful. Maybe other things were done to the mansion while we were away."

Anna: Anna was suddenly reminded of the field trip to the forest and she shuffled closer to Selene, "Other things?" she whimpered a little.

Jason: "Feel around too. Who knows, whoever might be able to pull off invisibility." Just because the ferals hadn't smelt him yet doesn't mean he's not here. Jason knew that well enough.

Kyle: Kyle just walked around the room, smelling. There were droplets of the rabbit's blood splattered here and there on the walls, making all he could smell ans focus on was just the blood.

Hepzibah: "I agree. Who know how long 'they' had in here." She gave Kyle an unhappy look. "Probably the two ferals got the best shot at sniffing anything out."

Hepzibah: "So, where do we go first?" she asked the group in general. Suddenly this school seemed impossibly large.

Kraven: He had to admit that he was kind of curious how they were managing right now, but a house, no matter how big, wasn't a good place for him to hide. Especially not with the load on his back that grew colder and colder by the minute, the still pulsating heart he felt vibrating into his own body growing fainter too.

Anna: Anna shrugged, "Anywhere there's not a dead thing laying on the table would be a start."

Jason: "Clear the first floor. We might have to split up to get the basements and the upper floors. Otherwise whoever it is could slip out without us knowing it."

Anna: Anna didn't like the sound of splitting up one bit, "Do we have to?"

Hepzibah: "Selene stays with Anna?" Hepz didn't want to treat her like a child, but if she got injured, she wanted Anna to be able to patch her up.

Miranda: Miranda looked up from her call to Remy. "Um... we're splitting up?"

Kyle: Kyle was trying to think of all the rooms and how far the the buildin and wings went. Off the top of his head from one side of the mansion to the other it was recroom, kitchen, study hall, library, classroom, lockerroom, indoor swimming pool...and then there was the outside too.

Jason: "Not just yet. Hopefully we won't have to. I'm just worried about whatever this is getting out if we all go to the wrong floor." Jason paused for a moment from feeling the perimeter of the room. "If we could get security back online we could watch from the control room though."

Anna: Anna chewed her lip, "I don't want to split up..." She couldn't help thinking of the forest, there had been so many traps and only two people here could heal themselves if they got hurt.

Hepzibah: "Where would we need to go to get security back online?" Hepz nodded. That seemed likek a good idea. There was no way for the five of them to cover the whole school.

Kyle: For a second Kyle had the idea of just starting to run through the rooms, getting it all done himself, making sure no-one gets hurt, but then again, what if whatever did the bunnie in would come back to te group, and looking at them, he was probably the only one who could defend himself.....him and Hepz.

Miranda: "Yeah, okay, see you in a bit." Miranda put her phone away, chewing on her lip. "There was a wreck on the highway and they're stuck in traffic, so it's just us for a while. He said getting the security back on would be a good plan."

Anna: Anna was suddenly very conscious of the open door behind her and went to close it.

Selene: "Now I regret that actually go by the rules and didn't take a knife along." Selene mused, carefully pacing around the room. "At least I still have my hairpins."

Jason: "First basement." Jason supplied. "I think this room is clear so we might as well head that way."

Anna: Anna nodded, "Yeah... basement... probably safer down there too..." she didn't know why she thought that but it seemed like it would be.

Selene: "To the basement." Selene repeated quietly. "Those strike me as famous last words."

Jason: "Funny, the idea of being underground with someone who's already mutiliated a bunny doesn't strike me as all that much safer. At least here we can run back outside."

Miranda: "I've seen movies that start this way..." Miranda started to follow them, then heard a sound from the kitchen.

Anna: "In movies they go to the basement alone. Hence my not being in favour of splitting up."

Hepzibah: Hepzibah nodded and started towards the elevator, then stopped. Maybe the stairs were safer...or maybe not. "We'll be all right so long as the lights don't go out and we're not going to go down there to make out." She tried to joke.

Jason: "You know, never before have I thought of a situation like this were I wasn't the biggest coward of the group." Jason winced a bit at Hepzibah's joke. Maybe he was going to be one of the first on the chopping block.

Miranda: She hadn't meant to go in there, but something caught her eye as she leaned around the corner to check it out.

Kyle: Kyle turned and looked up, two words hitting his brain, "Who's making out?" he asked.

Anna: Anna stopped, "Wait where's she going?" Anna looked after Miri, "Oi!"

Selene: "The first one who kisses is as good as dead." Selene reminded them. "Definite movie law." She glanced at Miranda. "I've seen films that ended this way. Usually not in a happy end."

Hepzibah: "Nobody tonight, Fido." Hepz patted his back and headed for the basement stairs.

Anna: Anna decided to follow Miranda, "Where are you going? Basement's the other way..."

Miranda: "Oh my God... what the fuck does that mean?!" Miranda found herself in the kitchen doorway staring at a red scrawl across the cabinets. For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?

Anna: Anna saw what Miri had found and paled, "What the hell...? Hey... everyone.... come see...."

Kyle: Kyle twisted around at the calling, pointing back to the voices, "I think we should go there."

Jason: "What?" Jason doubled back into the kitchen. "...okay, creepy Bible quotes are somehow worse than the rabbit for me."

Selene: Selene stood still for moment and looked back and forth between the two groups, before she decided to scurry after Miranda and Anna. "This looks like religious nonsense." Selene commented, blinking at the smeared cabinets. "Probably not hobos, then."

Miranda: More than a little hysterical, she looked around the kitchen and then went in. "Is that blood?!" She moved to touch the dripping words and the cabinet door opened with a pop, spilling something out onto the counter. "Oh my God!" It was animals, or what was left of them.

Hepzibah: Hepz twisted her head and frowned. "See what?" Hepz turned and headed back towards her. "Did you find something - oh my God..." She turned even paler as she stared at the bloody scrawls. "What does it say?"
Jason: "So...who's for taking the kitchen knives with us?"

Selene: Selene stepped over to one of the cabinets, took a closer look at the red colour, then dipped her fingertip into it and licked it. "Mmm, yes, definitely blood." She said, sampling the taste and not caring about hygiene. She raised a hand. "I'm all for knives."

Miranda: Miranda screamed and jumped back, slipping in the blood and falling on her ass, which made her scream more. "Oh my God! Is that a brain?!" She scrambled backward, leaving a smear of blood on the floor.

Anna: Anna shrieked as the things fell out of the cupboard, "What the hell is going on?!" she was starting to feel as freaked out as she had in the woods... no wait she was already that freaked out.

Selene: "This is like anatomy class." Selene commented, turning around to take all the body parts in, then added: "From Hell."

Anna: Anna leaned to help pull Miranda to her feet.

Jason: Jason, having been in the midst of arming himself with the kitchen knives, stabbed the brain and pulled it up to look. "It's a lemon."

Miranda: Miranda flailed a little, still screeching whenever she touched something else sticky or slimy.
Selene: Selene glanced up and looked shiftily around when lemons were mentioned. Silently, she armed herself with a large kitchen knife.

Anna: Anna thought about pulling a glove off and using her healing to calm Miri down, "It's alright as long as there are no people parts in there." She'd seen dead animals before. This was still creepy as hell but still...

Hepzibah: Instinctivley, Hepzibah jumped up on the kitchen island. Higher ground. "Ok! What the Hell is going on here?!" At this point, she didn't feel like her claws were not going to sheath any time soon.

Selene: She stepped over to Jason and looked over his shoulder, then reached out to swiftly grab the stabbed lemon. "Thank you." She said. "I've been looking for this everywhere."

Jason: "...you're welcome."

Miranda: "There's no part of this that's all right!!!" Miranda gaped at the lemon stabbing and took Anna's assistance, slipping just a little as she got up.

Hepzibah: "Jason, should be try to get to the basement? Is there security camera or something useful down there??" Hepz flexed her claws.

Anna: "I've seen worse..." Anna replied to Miri, "Calm down, getting hysterical won't help... we still need to find out who did this and if they're still here..."

Kyle: Kyle just took it in as he saw it all unfold in front of him, still trying to pick up anything that didn't smell like blood.....and now lemon.

Selene: She wiped some of the blood that had spilled on the lemon on her clothes, then began to peel the fruit with her knife. "I guess I'm not the only one who's starting to feel a tad restless." She said. "That's definitely a very profound prank."

Jason: "Yes...basement. Basement is the best bet." He nodded. "And, depending on what we see when we get everything going, Danger Room." It served against a not quite zombie invasion, it could do the same against whatever this was...hopefully.

Hepzibah: "Let's go then. Whoever it was made their point in this room. Doubt there's anything else to see here...I hope." Hepz leaped off the island to the doorway to avoid getting blood and body parts in her fur.

Anna: "Wait... what if there's more stuff like this on this floor? Shouldn't we... clean it up?"

Kyle: Kyle watched Hepz walk past him, cocking his head at the bloody foot print from one foot that she left as she walked.
Miranda: Miranda found herself weeping more for her pants than for the animals as she tried to wipe the blood off her hands.

Selene: "Personally, I'd prefer if we cleaned up when we're sure that there are no psychopathic murderers with axes and chainsaws hiding in the dark." Selene remarked.

Selene: "Do you need help with that?" Selene asked Miranda, stepping over to her. "I have some cloth, if you need it."

Anna: Anna glanced out of the window, "I don't like it... feels too familiar..."

Mayhem: Mayhem muttered something incoherant as he trudged up to the entrance of the school, hands jammed in pockets. He'd lagged behind the others and, inevitably, got lost. Stupid cities. He sidled through the doors and caught a whiff of something that made his stomach growl. His eyes were drawn down...to a dismembered rabbit in the foyer. Oh ew.

Miranda: She sniffled. "Thank you." Her nose wrinkled again. "Chainsaws?"

Hepzibah: Hepz opened the door to the basement, the one to use in case of emergencies. This definately qualified as and emergency in her book. "Guys, I hate ruining my clothes as much as the next guy...but can't that wait??" she started to speak further when the front door started to open.

Anna: Anna looked to the front door when she heard it open and grabbed for the nearest person, just in case.

Mayhem: "Um. Anyone here? I think Kyle left a dead rabbit in the hall..." Mayhem called, sniffing and trying to pick up scents, but he couldn't smell anything over the dead rabbit. Wait. Rabbits didn't smell that much, did they?

Kyle: "Ack.." Kyle gasped when he was pulled aside by Anna.

Miranda: Miranda screamed again at an unfamiliar voice.

Selene: Selee shrugged. "That, or axes. Personally, I'd stick with knives. But as I've said before, this is not my doing." She followed the others back through the foyer, when she spotted someone else walking in. She narrowed her eyes at Mayhem. "Hello?"
Anna: Anna relaxed a little when she saw who it was, "Good God I thought you were the mad bunny killer!"

Jason: Jason's hand tightened on the knife he had had. Mayhem. Just Mayhem. He caught his breath. "In here."

Miranda: "OhmiGod! Is he the bunny killer?! I mean, where the hell did he come from?!"

Selene: "Maybe he has returned to the crime scene." Selene whispered, keeping an eye on Mayhem as she leaned towards the others. Her hand had closed tightly around the knife handle. "Or he just came home, too. We can never be sure."

Selene: "Possibly." Selene told Miranda.

Mayhem: Mayhem jumped visibly at the scream, staring wide-eyed to the kitchen. Screw this. He looked in - and had to put a hand over his nose. "Oh gods! What happened?" He tried to will his stomach to stop growling and his mouth to stop watering at the smell. "Miri, it's me - May. I just got - hey, why're you all staring at me like that?" He picked his way gingerly into the kitchen.

Hepzibah: Hepz felt herself relax a tiny bit. She leaned against the door and took a steadying breath. "No, Kyle is the bunny killer - just not THAT bunny's killer." she called to them.

Jason: They did have a point. "Didn't you come back with anyone else?"

Anna: "It's just May," Anna rolled her eyes.

Miranda: "But...but... Remy said everybody was stuck in traffic!" Maybe she needed a knife too. Miranda started scrounging for one.

Kyle: Kyle shifted away from Anna when her grasp let him go. He went over to accompany Hepz.

Mayhem: "Um. No...I got lost." Mayhem looked around, pulling a face at the scrawled words and strangely unaffected by the carnage, save feeling hungry. "I uh...I didn't do this, I promise."

Jason: There was an easy way to solve this, Jason realized. "Just hold still and let Kyle or Hep sniff you?"

Mayhem: "Uh...sure?"

Anna: "I believe you, May." Anna told him, "You're too nice to do all this..."

Selene: Selene decided that she didn't want to stand around in the open like this when there was the possibility of a wacko killer of fluffy bunnies still hiding in the mansion somewhere, and so took a few steps toward Kyle and Hepz.

Miranda: People already had the best knives, so Miranda ended up with a long pointy fork. She whipped it around experimentally.

Hepzibah: Hepz was already on her way to act on Jason's suggestion, "No offense, May. But, lets just rule you out." She leaned in and inhaled, withholding judgement till Kyle could do the same. But he smelled clean to her.

Mayhem: Mayhem blinked at Miri and then snorted, trying not to laugh, hand still covering his nose, much good that did. "Beware the fork? Um..." He nudged one of the corpses with the toe of a boot. "I guess dinner's out then..."

Mayhem: "No offence taken. But I uh...grew up in a city. The closest I've seen a rabbit is roadkill."
Anna: Anna wrinkled her nose, "We still wanna go to the basement?"

Selene: "Well, he was with us in the theater, and his clothes are clean." Selene remarked, looking over her shoulder back at Mayhem. "As suspicious as his arrival might be, I doubt he had time to do all this, then leave, change into new clothes, and come back here. I don't think it was him."

Jason: "Very true, and yes, we're still going to the basement."

Anna: Anna was keen to be far away from the dead things before they started to smell.

Kraven: Now that they were all together they only needed to get out of his way for a bit, so he could leave them the grande finale...
Hepzibah: "Ok, he smells clean to me. To the basement." Hepz walked back to the basement door for the second time. This time taking a few steps down it. She kept her eyes and ears and nose open to anything out of the ordinary.

Selene: Selene turned to follow Hepzibah this time, keeping her knife ready. "Maybe I should go first." She whispered, leaning close to the feline's ear.

Mayhem: Mayhem sniffed, stomach growling again and making his cheeks turn red, reminded a little too strongly of The Shining. "Um. What's so special about the basement?"

Anna: "Security system." Anna told Mayhem, "Need to turn it back on again."

Miranda: Miranda gave Mayhem a half-hearted, watery-eyed smile of apology and fell in with the others heading down the steps. "I think we have to turn the security thingie back on. The bunny slayer disabled it."

Mayhem: "We have a security system?" He realised as soon as he said it that it sounded stupid. Of course they did. Xavier was loaded to own a place like this.

Kyle: Kyle gave a growl, too many people were talking at the same time and he couldn't follow them all, instead he left them and stood at the basement door, "Hepz, sure don't wan't me in first?" he asked her, watching her go down the steps.

Hepzibah: "You both heal. Smart idea." Hepz nodded, letting Selene and Kyle pass her. This was no time to play hero. Not that she ever played hero.

Selene: Selene nodded and proceeded down the flight of stair together with Kyle. "If anything nasty waits down there for us, it's better if it gets us first." She said. "Just make sure Anna is nearby."

Jason: "We actually have a damned good security system but you'd never know it half the time." Jason grumbled quietly but not quitely enough to keep that to himself.

Anna: Anna followed the others down to the basement feeling more safe in the confined space, "Right behind you folks..." she said to Selene's comment.

Mayhem: "So...why don't we tell the people in charge of security...?" Mayhem drifted after the others, looking back to the corpses. "And what's with the bible verses? Kinda random, ain't it?"

Kyle: Kyle glanced at Selene as they walked, "You heal as fast as me?" he asked.

Anna: Anna nodded, "Yeah it's a little creepy," she said to Miranda.

Miranda: "We did....but they're still on the way back..."

Mayhem: "Wait. Students are security?"

Selene: "Depends entirely on my reserves." Selene explained.

Kyle: "Oh," and then pushed himself in front of her to take the lead into the large basement.

Selene: Selene shrugged and let Kyle lead the way. She wouldn't complain about having some eager fuzzy cannon fodder in front of her.

Hepzibah: "Fat lot of good they're doing stuck in traffic." Hepz growled. "And, yes, that was my reaction to May. Seems Xavier give us on the job training around here." She felt her heart beating faster as they neared the bottom of the steps.

Jason: "We all are security." They didn't have teams anymore after all. "You've just not been put on duty yet but when we did have teams I was on security." And he was probably not going to be leaving watches early anymore. At least he hadn't been on duty this week. "Down the hall, three doors and then the left one."

Miranda: Miranda noticed her fork hand was shaking. "This is all creepy."

Mayhem: "...Duty? I thought this was just a school..." Mayhem blinked as he followed the others, dropping a hand, all his senses on high alert, ears up and picking up the slightest sound.

Anna: "I want to know how the person or persons disabled it in the first place... think we need to have a word with Forge...." Anna muttered.

Jason: "With any luck? We'll be finding out."

Selene: "Usually I live up to my responsibility of keeping everyone around here safe." Selene told them and nodded. "I don't even trust all those security cameras, but always made sure personally that everyones room was safe and secure." She held up a finger. "I'm watchful even when the rest of you sleeps." She reminded them.

Miranda: Miranda wasn't sure if she was reassured or more creeped out by that.

Anna: Anna raised an eyebrow at Selene, "I'm not sure that's as reassurring as you think..."

Selene: "Of course, that doesn't help us at all while we were all forced to watch dancing bears on stage." Selene added.

Kyle: The deeper into the basement they went the more it began to stink. Something else than a rabbit was in there. Definately not alive either. The corridors had bloody streeks on it, more writing too. The DR room was coming up next, and the bloody trail lead to that.

Hepzibah: "I know. I've seen you going through the halls...and other places." She gave her and Kyle a sidelong look as the emptied into the basement. It seemed darker and more oppresive now. "Oh no..." she stared at the blood trail. "Please be more animals."
Anna: Anna saw the blood and slowed down, "Er... that's a lot of blood....."

Jason: "...okay, we might have to rethink where we're going to bunker down if whoever did this is has made it in the Danger Room..."

Mayhem: Mayhem sniffed. "Mmm. More blood." He pulled a face. That was going to be a pain to clean.

Selene: Selene cautiously paced next to Hepzibah as they followed Kyle into the basement. "Whoever did that, they didn't do a halfhearted job." She whispered.

Anna: Anna chewed her lip, "Should we... er... find out what that is....?" she gestured at the blood. She didn;t want to find out but they were the only ones here...

Miranda: Miranda stopped to read the bloody scrawl on another wall. It was barely visible in the dim emergency lighting. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

Kyle: Kyle peeked at the half open door, and could see something lying on the floor in the otherwise empt room of the DR. His curiousity got the better of him and pushed the door more open. Turning back to the rest he asked, "Is the DR on? Doesn't look on."

Hepzibah: "No shit. They sick bastard loves his work." She agreed with Selene as they made their way to the DR.
Selene: Selene reached out with her psychic senses, just in case, but didn't detect anything unusual. "If it makes you feel safer, whatever is down here, it's dead." She told the others. "So, we're only going to find more corpses. No killers." She paused, frowning. "Unless they're undead killers, of course."

Anna: Anna crept to the door behind Kyle and Hepzibah.

Selene: Selene poked her head around the corner. "I think it's offline." She replied.

Mayhem: Mayhem shuddered. "Undead religious wackos. I've been watching too much Hellsing for this shit." He came to the door. "Yeah, smells dead."

Miranda: This couldn't be Graydon, could it? Miranda moved a little closer to the group again.

Hepzibah: "Guys...is that a person?" Hepz felt herself go stoney and cold as she looked at the corpse on the DR floor.

Anna: Anna froze, "What?"

Jason: "Also very much not good." Jason stared up at the writings on the wall. As it turned out personally only having the use of a Bible as a coaster did not make the words any less creepy. "You never know. It could be zombie priests after all..." Jason turned to look into the DR at Hepzibah's question, taking a few tentative steps in. "Surely not." He stepped closer.

Kyle: Kyle nudged the door with a foot, and then pushed it open, watching the corpse of somthing that was skinned. And probably gutted by the smell of it. "Dog." he said.

Anna: Anna visibly relaxed at Kyles reply, "Thank God." she breathed a sigh of relief.

Mayhem: "...A person?" That would make two dead bodies. Mayhem blinked at Kyle. "Oh. That's better then. Right?"

Hepzibah: "Oh, Thank God." She couldn't believe she actually found something to be grateful about. "Just a dog." Then she turned to Kyle. "No offense. Not a relative of your is it??"

Anna: Anna giggled at little at Hepzibah's question. Humour was helpful.

Miranda: "Awww, not a doggie!" Miranda found herself more pissed off that somebody would kill a dog than creeped out for the moment.

Jason: Jason made a face at the carcas, backing away back into the hall. "Okay, need to get to the security room."

Anna: Anna nodded at Jason, "Yeah..." she turned to go into the corridor again.

Selene: "At least it's not a kitty." Selene remarked. "No offence, Kyle."

Kyle: Kyle stepped into the DR, coming closer to the corpse. With most if not all it's skin gone, it had a constant baring teeth lok to it. It was a large dog. Something just looked funny about it. Kyle squatted down to it and reached a hand to touch it.
Mayhem: Mayhem's stomach reminded him he was hungry again as he stared at the dog, then at the blood. "Yeah...security. So. What's this about duty?" The blood was starting to bother him for a wholly different reason.

Hepzibah: Hepz was about to follow Jason when Kyle caught her attention. "Fido, what is it?"

Selene: "Kyle, you're coming?" Selene asked, turning to look at him. She made a face. "You're not going to make friends with it now, are you? It's dead."

Jason: What was with these people and disturbing what could be evidence? "Best leave it alone, Kyle."

Mayhem: Mayhem looked down at his boot, realising he'd got it covered in blood as he backed from the room. "Yeah..."

Selene: "I'm sure there's be enough time to poke and bother the corpses later." Selene said. "They're not running away, after all."

Kyle: Kyle stood up, "Where to now?" He asked.

Miranda: Miranda wasn't going anywhere near it, so she backed away and looked down the hall toward the security room.

Hepzibah: She cocked her head at him. "Security room." she studied him a moment longer, then turned around to follow Jason.

Jason: Jason didn't know how he had managed to end up in the lead but he didn't like being there. His hand stiffened on the liberated knife though and he kept walking.

Anna: Anna followed closely behind Jason, despite the dead thing she still felt safer down here than she had up in the main part of the building.

Selene: Selene turned to follow the others to the security room. "Do we actually have a groundskeeper who can clean that up for us?" She wondered.

Kyle: Watching everyone walk away, Kyle turned back to the carcass. Something really did look odd abou it. It just layed wrong. Like it was propped up. He squatted back down again, and reached out, pulling the dog to roll it over to see what was under it. Lat thing he hear was a *Click* before the *Boom* and hit the wall of the room with his back.

Miranda: Miranda screamed at the explosion behind them.

Anna: Anna turned quickly, "What the hell was that?!"

Jason: "...Please tell me we don't have two dog carcasses in there now."

Hepzibah: Hepzibah spun around. Kyle! Was he still in - "Oh God! Kyle!!" She sprung towards the DR again.

Selene: A shockwave hit Selene's back and pushed her off her feet, causing her to faceplant in the corridor. She didn't hear the explosion, just a ringing in her ears.

Mayhem: Mayhem spun, dropping into a crouch, ears back and fangs bared as he snarled, tail whipping. " Pyth yw henna?!" He slipped into Cornish automatically, claws out before following Hepz on instinct.

Miranda: She scrambled for her dropped fork and spun around just in time to see Hepzibah go back into the DR.

Anna: Anna saw Hepz run for the DR and realised why, she followed quickly.

Selene: Selene pushed herself off the floor and shook her head. The ringing subsided as her hearing quickly recuperated from the loud sound. Turning her head to look over her shoulder, still on all fours on the floor, she saw a cloud of smoke coming from the DR door, and several others running inside.

Hepzibah: She couldn't hear or see or smell anything other than smoke and fire. "KYLE!!" She screamed again, then started coughing and choking. Where was that damned dog?!?

Kyle: Kyle layed still. He couldn't see anything, and the pain was excruciating. Atleast he was still breathing. Just not moving, just lying on the floor, and waiting for the healing to kick in, which felt like an eternity.

Selene: She got to her feet and followed them, still shaking her head to get rid of the groggy feeling. The shock had messed up her sense of balance.

Miranda: Miranda reluctantly followed, gasping at the destruction.... and the smell!

Anna: Anna pulled off her gloves, and layed a hand on Selene - she'd caught the edge of the blast from the look of her and it was better to be on the safe side.

Mayhem: Mayhem staggered, rubbing at an ear. "Hepz!" He called, though it sounded underwater. "Wait for me!" The hell am I doing?!

Selene: Selene shook her head and brushed Anna's hand off. "I'm fine." She said. "Go look for Kyle instead."

Jason: "Sweet Jesus." Jason now found himself glad he was the furthest away from that but found himself stepping towards where he had just been. Well, they found another reason not to be poking at bodies. "Now would be a good time to answer, Kyle."

Selene: She stumbled into the DR along with the others. Slowly, her sense of balance sorted itself out again, just as the ringing vanished completely.

Hepzibah: Hepz dropped to all fours and crawled under the smoke. "Kyle!!" She screamed again, coughing out more smoke. She saw a form against the far wall. "Oh no, oh please no..." She ignored everyone else and made her way to the form. "ANNA!!" she screamed when she came up on Kyle...or what was left of him.

Anna: Anna looked around, trying to figure out where Kyle was, then heard Hepz shout and ran for the sound. "Hepz, can't see! keep yelling!"

Mayhem: Mayhem caught the shout and passed it on, choking on the smoke, reaching out and grabbing Anna's hand. "This way."

Selene: "He's alive." Selene called through the smoke. She didn't see his body yet, but could sense his vitality across the room, close to Hepzibah's.

Hepzibah: "Over here! He's over here!!" Hepz kept screaming. Mostly because she couldn't do anything else.

Selene: She relied on her supernatural senses to navigate the smoke filled DR, closing in on Hepz and Kyle.

Anna: Anna pulled her hand out of Mayhem's quickly making sure she didn't activate her powers, "Careful!" she told him, then hurrried towards Hepz's voice.

Mayhem: Mayhem couldn't see all that good, but he bet it was better then Anna's as he shrugged and led her on. "Suit yourself."

Hepzibah: "Come on Fido..." She put his head in her lap. "Anna! Mayhem!! Anybody!!"

Kyle: Any minute now the healing should kick in. Or maybe it's busy working. Boy it's taking long. Was someone next to him. He couldn't hear anything, just a horrible ringing sound in one ear, and nothing in the other.

Anna: Kneeling beside Kyle she looked him over, "Bloody Hell, you need to think before you poke things..." She put a hand on him and released her block on her powers.

Selene: "Let me try to clear the vision somewhat." Selene said and tried to focus on her powers. She did her best to get the air moving by applying some broad force with her telekinesis, simply to get the smoke to dissipate.

Selene: Selene stood next to Kyle and those who knelt by his side, watching them take care of him. All her power was good for was taking someones vitality, not add to it.

Jason: "...it seems like yesterday we just got this room fixed up." Jason couldn't help but comment.

Hepzibah: Hepzibah watch Anna laying her hands on her friend. She'd never felt so helpless in her life. Well, once but this was worse. "Anna..." She wasn't seeing anything yet. She kept his head in her lap, his blood and bits of burnt skin getting all over her.

Kyle: Burning pain....a really weird burning feeling, no pain anymore, and the ringing stopped. Then came sound back on, and total blackness turned to total light, blindingly bright and things started blurred into focus.

Anna: Anna looked at Hepz, "He’ll be fine - it's working." She'd felt the heal leave her.

Miranda: Now feeling useless since he was alive, Miranda realized she wasn't really hearing properly and shook her head to clear the ringing, brushing dust off her bloody clothes. As soon as this was over, she was so heading saight to Remy's hot tub.

Mayhem: Mayhem stuck his hands in his pockets, feeling a little spare as he looked around, the scent of cooked meat filling the air as he watched Kyle, feeling strangely displaced.

Selene: What she could do, however, was helping get rid of any non-living object still stuck in his body. Her senses felt for all inanimate objects inside his skin, then Selene held a hand over his chest and channeled her energy into them, allowing her to pull the splinters and shrapnel out with her telekinesis. "I'm not totally useless, after all." She remarked.

Kyle: Feeling came back into parts of his body, especially the parts that hurt...not hurt anymore. He slowly blinked and felt like he breathed in blood. He coughed a felt better. He smiled up at the faces above him "Hey."

Selene: "Hey." Selene replied, smirking wryly. "I told you to not make friends with dead dogs."

Hepzibah: "Oh, thank God...thank God..." She watched as he slowly began to heal up. She hardly noticed she was crying when he spoke. "Hey, Fido." she answered back.

Anna: "Gave us a fright there, Kyle." Anna smiled at him, "Now what did we learn? Don't play with dead things."

Kyle: "But they go boom..." he said in his defence. "That's fun."

Mayhem: Mayhem grinned at Kyle at that. "Only if you don't end up in several pieces, man."

Anna: Anna laughed, "Yeah, maybe for you..." she patted him then pulled her gloves back on again.

Hepzibah: "Fun?" Hepz pushed him off her lap. "FUN??"

Miranda: Miranda shifted her weight nervously. "Um, guys.... security? And what if there're more doggie bombs?"

Selene: "Well, that's true." Selene remarked and chuckled. "I'm not sure I could have resisted the temptation of a good explosion, Though, they tend to ruin ones clothing."

Jason: "Yeah...everything good here then?" Jason pointed towards the security room. "We should be getting to work."

Kyle: Kyle's head knocked on the floor. "Ow."

Anna: "If there are more dead thing bombs we can ask a telekinetic to move the dead thing when they're a safe distance away." Anna said to Miranda, "Then we can avoid this..."

Hepzibah: "You blow yourself up, you scare me-us half to death." She flustered, wiping her hands through her soot covered fur. "You stupid, stupid dog!!"

Selene: "I guess that means me." Selene tossed in. "Apparently I've just been promoted to telekinetic corpse-plow."

Jason: "Just as long as movement doesn't set anything off that's all well and good." Jason nodded, stepping back towards the security room.

Mayhem: "Yeah, that fills me with confidence." Mayhem muttered, running a hand through smoke-stained dreads.

Kyle: Kyle looked down at himself. "Where's my fur?" Skipping the part about the disappearances of the front of his clothes.

Selene: "Everywhere." Selene stated casually.

Anna: Anna grinned at Selene, "I'm a telekinetic too you know... that's how I stopped that log before..." she looked at Kyle then blused deeply and averted her eyes.

Kyle: Kyle sat up, staring down at himself. "Was my best pants." he said.

Selene: "Really?" Selene raised her eyebrows at Anna. "That's intriguing. In that case, we can haul corpses together." She grinned. "Now, isn't that fun?"

Hepzibah: "Where's your fur?? Up in smoke. Like the rest of you should be!" Hepz stalked out of the DR, muttering darkly. "And get some clothes on!" she hollered behind her.

Miranda: Miranda paused to take in Kyle's naked, raising an eyebrow. Wow. Then she followed Jason to the security room. "So..."

Anna: "Yeah it's great...." Anna muttered not without a bit of sarcasm, "And I second the clothes idea...." she tried not to look at Kyle.

Mayhem: Mayhem shrugged at Kyle, ducking back out quickly and blushing furiously.

Jason: Jason looked over to Miranda, silently asking how he had managed to get in the lead again. "Well...at least there's no blood trail into here." he muttered, testing the door. "And it's not locked."

Miranda: "Yay!" She said it quietly, and then peered inside when the door swung open. It was dark.

Hepzibah: Is it supposed to be locked?" Hepz stood behind them.

Jason: "The whole school's supposed to be locked." Jason pointed out, stepping in cautiously.

Kyle: This semester was definately not a good semester for hairstyles, or for his matter, furstyles. Twisting and checking his sides he could see and feel fur on his back, so it was just some of his front that got burned off. He growled and got up. Grabbing what was left of his pants on the floor and tying it around his waist like a makeshift loincloth until he got some pants.

Mayhem: "I still don't get why students are in charge of their own security. Is Xavier that cheap?"

Selene: "Usually, yes." Selene said. "Considering that all the security data is stored in here. Surveillance cameras and all that."

Selene: "I believe it's more a matter of secrecy." Selene speculated. "The less people know about the school, the better. Besides, there's also the teachers."

Selene: Selene glanced at Mayhem. "Personally, I agree with that position. Taking care of your own protection is the only way to learn how to survive on your own."

Mayhem: "...But this is a school..." Mayhem shook his head, not understanding.

Jason: "And do you really want Joe the security guy wandering home to tell everything he's seen?" Jason took a seat, looking over the monitors to see if anything at all was up. No such luck. "Whoever this is must have cut the power supply."

Jason: "It's a school for mutants. The last part's pretty important there."

Hepzibah: Hepz leaned in the doorway, her night vision looking for anything out of the ordinary in the darkened room.

Anna: "I thought there was a backup power supply?"

Mayhem: Mayhem said nothing, hugging himself, feeling paranoid as he looked over the room. No one knew they were here...surely people didn't hate them that much? Don't kid yourself.

Selene: "Perhaps that has been cut, too." Selene remarked.

Jason: "There are a few. He's cut most of the ones that route security it would seem." Jason ducked under the panel, switching a few things around in hopes to get some power going.

Selene: "Shall I kick it a few times?" Selene offered.

Jason: "Not while I'm under here, thank you."

Selene: Selene shrugged. "Tell me when I need to be violent to something."

Anna: "You like violence, huh?" Anna said conversationally.

Jason: "Will do." Jason finished with what he was trying. "Anything come on?"

Hepzibah: Hepz climbed up on the control panel and stuck her head up under where Jason was working. "Nothing yet. Try that green wire. I'm partial to green"

Jason: "If it turns out to be a bomb I'll have to hurt you." Maybe it was too soon for that joke but Jason went there anyway. He switched that cord around and tried again. He heard a familiar buzz of electronics. "Excellent." He got back up as the monitors started turning back on, giving them a few cameras throughout the school.

Selene: "If it's a bomb, I'm sure we'll all be pretty much hurt." Selene tossed in, then eyed Hepzibah on the panel. "A tech savvy kitty, who would have thought that?"

Hepzibah: Hepz grinned. "Even a broken clock is right twice a day." She waggled her eyes and climbed off the panel.

Miranda: Miranda jumped when the monitors flickered to life and then blinked when she realized what she was seeing on the screen. It was the front door closing.

Selene: "Did some of the others just come back?" Selene asked, looking at one of the monitors. "I think there was someone at the front door. We should meet with them."

Jason: Jason claimed his seat again, going through camera views room by room. "It's all the time they spend batting cords...hell." Jason stared at foyer monitor. Yeah, that was the front door closing. "Knew we should have had some people up there." He flipped angles, hoping to see it was the others coming in but nothing was there. "Not them. I think we just missed our guest."

Anna: Anna blinked up at the monitors, "They were here this whole time?!"

Kyle: Kyle was still in the DR looking at the bits and pieces al over the floor and walls. He nudged something sticky on the floor. Was that his ear?

Hepzibah: "If we hurry, we can catch them..." Hepz offered. After a night like this, she wanted to kill someone.

Miranda: "Oh my God!" Miranda pointed at the corner of the screen, at something just barely out of sight. "What is that? It looks like an arm?"

Mayhem: "We did? And they couldn't stay for dinner?" Mayhem scrubbed his face. "Maybe he cleaned up for us too- wait what?"

Jason: He turned the camera back to the door. "...what's that?" He squinted at the image. Something was against the door but he couldn't quite make out what it was no matter how he tried to clear up the feed. Low power didn't make for the best images.

Jason: "Shit, arm?" He flipped back, trying to get an outdoor view to see if they could see anything.

Selene: "I'd say we go up there and see for ourselves." Selene said and twirled her knife.

Hepzibah: "Let's go check it out." Hepz started towards the door. "The other student will be here soon." Her claws was back out.

Anna: Anna stared at the monitors, "Arm?!"

Jason: "I'm not seeing anything outside. I think whoever this is is long gone." Jason put the feed back to the foyer.

Mayhem: Mayhem nodded, the weird displacement settling on him as he stepped out of the door. "Still. Someone could be hurt..."

Jason: "Security is back up, anyway." Jason felt a bit better about that. "I say we go out and wait for the others, meet them there since they won't be able to get back in."

Hepzibah: "Yeah, just in time." Hepz answered sarcastically. "How did he get inside in the first place?" She was half was to the door.

Selene: "Yes." Selene nodded. "Aside from that, I'd prefer to not be trapped underground in case something else goes wrong again." She turned to leave the room. "Since Kyle already took one for the team, I guess it's now my turn to lead the way."

Miranda: "Yeah..." She was wondering if there maybe was better security in the boat house and if Remy wanted a roommate, but she steadied her grip on her fork and followed the others to the stairs.

Jason: "We'll find out, hopefully." Jason got up. "The lead's all yours."

Selene: "You all get to buy me new clothes in case I blow up." Selene reminded them, before walking down the corridor and back up the stairs. Just in case, she held the knife ready.

Hepzibah: "I'll turn my head while you raid Cess's closet." Hepz offered, following behind Selene.

Anna: Anna was most concerned about the arm-like thing they'd seen. She hoped the person it belonged to was alright.

Selene: "Thanks for the offer, but I'm not much into hippie clothes." Selene replied. "Way too brightly coloured for my taste, as well." She slowed down when she reached the ground floor, cautiously peeking around the corner.

Mayhem: Mayhem followed the others, chewing a lip and running a hand through his dreads, sneezing when a bit of soot caught his nose.

Selene: "Hello?" She called. No answer.
Jason: "I doubt anyone's going to answer, you know."

Kyle: Kyle was busy comparing the severed finger he picked up with his finger on his hand when he heard everyone pass by behind him down the corridor. "Wait, I'm coming!" he said.

Hepzibah: "Haven't you had enough fun for one day, Kyle?" Hepz growled behind her and started across the foyer.

Selene: "I can't sense anyone." Selene told the others. "At least, no one thinking any thoughts or showing signs of life." She slowly paced down the hallway and turned the corner leading into the foyer. Selene stopped and stared. "Jesus?" She asked, blinking wide-eyed at the bloody, crucified mess.

Miranda: Miranda heard the tone of Selene's voice as she rounded the corner and stopped, her fork falling from her fingers. She screamed again.

Anna: Anna covered her mouth with her hands.

Jason: "Je-what?" Jason stopped a bit behind Selene, staring at...whatever it was...he wasn't sure if it was an animal or not. He really hoped it was an animal or else someone got ahold of a mutant he wasn't recognizing.

Mayhem: Mayhem nearly walked into Selene's back, looking up and feeling himself go...just...blank as he stared. "I...don't think...that's Jesus."

Miranda: It hung suspended in front of the door, and Miranda backed up, gagging noisily.

Miranda: "Where's its head?!"

Jason: "I'm...not positive?"

Anna: Anna shook her head, hands still over her mouth, staring at the figure unable to move her gaze.

Hepzibah: "Oh my God..." Hepzibah went completely numb and stumbled a bit at the sight on their front door.

Mayhem: "I honestly...really don't want to know." He couldn't stop staring at it, tail almost completely still and eyes almost black his pupils were so wide.

Selene: Selene tilted her head sideways as she watched the corpse. "Are you sure it ever had a head?" She asked, trying to make out what that thing had been before being cut up and nailed to the wall. "I certainly won't sleep tonight."

Hepzibah: "I may never sleep under this roof again." Hepz couldn't take her eyes off the bloody, mangled corpse.

Mayhem: "I think...we should probably clean it...before anyone gets back..." Mayhem murmured, face white. "And maybe...work out...what it was...?" He swayed a little.

Jason: "No, we don't clean it. We leave everything as is."

Mayhem: "But..."

Anna: "For who? The authorities aren't supposed to know about this place, we can't exactly call the police!" Anna found her voice again.

Jason: "We don't touch it. We investigate ourselves."

Selene: "Personally, I' advise against sleeping outside." Selene told Hepzibah. "At least, at the moment."

Hepzibah: "It doesn't matter. Inside, outside. The police can't help us. Nobody can help us." She kept her eyes on the corpse.

Mayhem: Mayhem couldn't pull his eyes away from the corpse, blood-scent painting his world in hot colours. He needed Monet here. Or someone. "This...I was told this place was safe..." He said faintly.

Anna: "Yeah... so was I..." Anna told Mayhem, "Not so safe anymore..."

Jason: "Would you rather live in the sewers and get massacred?"

Selene: "That wasn't here before earlier, either, was it?" Selene remarked and pointed at smeared blood, higher up the wall. After a moment, she noticed that those were more letters: Destruction cometh' and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.
