9/20 Game - "Secret Agent Escapade"

Post by JSherlock »

April 19th

SinJin: St. John pushed his sunglasses onto the top of his head and re-read the instructions. "Well, it says Acme Offices, in the middle of the city. Where the hell is it?" He looked around again, then passed the paper over to Rachel.

Benjamin: "Man, the I don't know what the heck part of the city we're even in." Ben said, scratching the back of his head. "All my concerts are like... not in this area. I'm so used to SoHo and East Side..."

rachel: Looking around, Rachel took the instructions from Ginny and glanced over them. She sighed, wishing Cess was here. Cess was so much better at this than she was. "Um, that way... I think..." she nodded in a direction.

SinJin: "Ok. Off we go." He turned down the corner Rachel had pointed to, and there it was - it looked like a normal office building. People in casual friday dress were leaving en masse for lunch. "Brilliant! Japh said we're to go right in, and pretend we're the mail runners.”

Benjamin: "So we're going to infiltrate a building... by delivering mail?" Ben asked quizzically. "All of us?" This is going to be a stretch, Ben thought to himself.

rachel: "Well, one of us could pretend to deliver and cause a distraction while the other two sneak in..." she suggested with a shrug.

Lorna: "How are things up here?" Lorna closed the distance between her and the rest of the group, having been playing at rear-guard for a while. "We about to get this thing rolling?"

SinJin: "Yeah." He was grateful Lorna was here - he was the newest member and still had no clue what to do. "We're supposed to just go in like we work there."

Lorna: "Heh, bold as brass and all that." She chuckled slightly. "Delivery, right? Well, if we have enough official looking boxes nobody'll probably ask any questions."

Benjamin: "What if they have uniforms?" Ben asked. "Or mustaches? I've never seen a guy who delivers mail who did not have some form of mustache."

SinJin: "Messengers can look like anything. Just have a few packages under your arm and look like you know where you're going. I can distract the person at the front desk, if you want." He winked with a grin.

rachel: "I think we'll survive without using something that looks like it died on our faces..."

Lorna: "Flirting to get the job done? Should we just start calling you Ginny Bond now?"

SinJin: He shrugged. "Do what you’re good at, you know?"

Benjamin: Ben pointed to a UPS truck which appeared to be sitting out with no one looking.

Benjamin: "Dude, let's grab some of those packages!" he suggested. "No one's looking!""

rachel: Rachel looked around just to make sure no one was staring at them before heading toward the truck, "Let's go, then."

Lorna: "Right then, let's get this show on the road." Lorna took a swift look around and decided that everyone was much too busy with thoughts of lunch and cellphones to notice them.

SinJin: He followed, rubbing his suddenly sweaty hands over his hair to make it look that though he'd been riding a bicycle. He was really doing something...illegal in another country.

Benjamin: Ben swiped a small box and shook it vigorously. It instantly broke. "Whoops." Putting it under his arm he handed a long box with holes in each end to Rachel.

Lorna: Taking watch, Lorna winced as she heard something break. "And let's try to leave things as we left them...aside for the taking of course."

Benjamin: "Sorry." Ben mumbled. He handed her a package that was rather flat, probably some kind of porno DVD for some tip-top CEO guy.

rachel: She took the box from Ben and looked around, "Try and hurry up. I don't wanna get caught by the UPS guy. Plus, going through people's mail is kinda a huge deal if you get caught..."

Lorna: "Yeah, nothing like breaking federal law. Let's go people." Lorna scooped up a box for herself and got out of the way for the others to get out.

SinJin: He took a few smaller ones and stuck them under his arm, and started ambling purposefully over to the large glass doors.

Benjamin: "One more thing!" Ben swiped a blank clip board from the back of the bus with an empty sheet of paper that had dates and small boxes for numbers and signatures. "Okay." He walked behind them, trying to look as inconspicuous as possible.

rachel: Taking a breath, she looked around before following the boys.

SinJin: He gave the hassled-looking receptionist a big smile as he went over to her. He started up some small talk with light flirting.

Lorna: Lorna brought up the rear, walking a quick clip to get inside in time to see Ginny at work. Probably making that woman's day judging by how she looks.

SinJin: He noticed his package indicated that it was supposed to be delivered directly to the person, so he got a key card from the girl, signing in as John Bond. He nochantly walked over to the keycard door, subtly nodding at the other to follow as he opened the door, and KAthy the receptionist got bombarded with calls.

Lorna: Lorna flashed Ginny a quick smile and mouthed 'Well done' as she followed.

Benjamin: Ben snorted as he followed behind Rachel. "I think the whole of New York City just called that poor girl."

SinJin: 'My pleasure - I got her number, too.' He mouthed back, then asked, "where now?"

Lorna: "Basement, so stairs or elevator?" Lorna wasn't sure which would be more conspicuous.

Benjamin: "I say elevator. Anyone with packages doesn't take stairs at this time, they've been delivering all day. Legs are probably tired."

rachel: Rachel held the box under an arm while she pulled the instructions out of her pocket. "Not as many people on the stairs, and we could ditch the packages there if we had to."

SinJin: "The packages give us license to walk around, so keep them." I say elevator, too."

Benjamin: Ben pushed the button and waited, tapping his foot. "Are we being timed?" He asked Ginny.

rachel: "I hope not. Pretty sure our time already sucks."

SinJin: "No?" He ventured a guess, looking at Lorna and Rachel to see if they knew.

Lorna: "Not my team so I'm not exactly sure. I just came along in case there was any trouble really." Lorna shrugged.

Benjamin: Ben watched doors slide open. Stepping in he held it open for everyone. A fat woman with a bucket from KFC came in behind them and stood in the middle. "Six." She grumbled. Ben shot a glance to Ginny.

SinJin: He shot a glance back that clearly said 'hell no'.

Benjamin: "Um...." Ben's hand shot out and hit "B".

Benjamin: "Sorry, going down." He looked away as the woman harrumphed and went back to her chicken.

rachel: Rachel just shrugged as she stepped into the elevator, eyeing the woman. Well, she kinda got in the way of things. <That was smart...> she glanced over at Ben and decided that telepathy would be safer for all of them at the moment.

Benjamin: <I panicked! At least I didn't put a stinger in her!"> He replied.

rachel: <Well, if you did, we'd just have to make sure no one found the stinger. Could be passed off as a heart attack, maybe... judging from all that chicken...>

Benjamin: Ben contemplated. <Take a mental vote....> He offered, still not sure if she was serious, but secretly hoping she was.

SinJin: He got off, squirming around the lady, and held the door open for his friends.

Lorna: Lorna gladly slipped out of the elevator, finding herself wondering if the infiltration team did approve of secretive stinger attacks.

rachel: She glanced over at Ben and shook her head, quickly following Ginny out of the elevator. The woman was like a female Farouk...

SinJin: "Who's got the paper?" once the elevator doors had closed behind them and the carriage had started up.

rachel: "I do," she handed them over him, glad she could breathe again.

Benjamin: Ben shrugged at Rachel and squeezed by the woman, his box breaking slightly more as it wedged between himself and the woman's bulk. Escaping the elevator he waved to her and surprisingly, she waved back.

SinJin: "Ok, so we’ve made it to the basement, then we're supposed to find a sub level and then what? Break in?"

Benjamin: "Oh.... that sounds bad." Ben shook his head and thanked the heavens, if they were there, that he had left his I.D. at home.

Lorna: "Were you expecting for this to sound good? Sounds like a plan to me."

rachel: "Yeah, break in," she nodded.

SinJin: "If I get caught, I hope I can pull off American. Or is that worse?"

Benjamin: Ben shook his head. <This is the stuff that makes my I.D. a problem.> Ben said to Rachel.

Lorna: "Considering things, probably worse." Lorna hurried along, looking for the room they were meant to break into. "This it?" she asked, pointing to one a bit down the hallway.

rachel: <Well, then, you should've thought about that before you got one.> Rachel looked to where Lorna was pointing, "We should check for security or anything. Cameras, alarms, and all that."

SinJin: "We probably should have that done that, first thing." He looked around, but could see nothing.

Benjamin: Ben mimicked Rachel behind her as she talked to Lorna and then looked around at the ceilings. "I can probably just touch the door handle and tell you if there's nothing good in there. Booby traps, or what not. Then Rachel should do a mind check."

Lorna: "Well, there is a use for my powers as far as cameras and alarms go." Lorna look a bit sheepish.

SinJin: "Well, I got us in, so I guess my job is done? Let's see what you guys can do." He saluted Lorna. "Well done. Thinking ahead."

Benjamin: "Okay, so.... everyone just do your thing." Ben said with a shrug. He went to the door and gripped the handle as if he were to open it. "Not.... sensing anything." He closed his eyes and imagined him to be sitting in the center of a web, waiting for a tingling sensation. "Nothing at all."

rachel: Rachel resisted the urge to reach back and smack Ben. Though she supposed she could always do that later since he'd probably give her another reason to. "Is the door to the room unlocked?" She glanced around, lowering her shields to check for people.

Benjamin: "Lorna could just pull it apart if need be, right?" He offered. "If it's locked?"

SinJin: "That'll leave a mess."

rachel: "Or I could just pick it with my teke."

Lorna: "Yeah, best if I don't mess with things too terrible much." Lorna kept back, letting them work their mojo.

Benjamin: Ben shrugged, slipped a credit card out of his pocket and slid it through the door. "Not locked." He said. Putting it back he looked to the others. "Open?"

SinJin: "That was too easy."

Lorna: "Makes you suspect something bad behind the door."

Benjamin: "So no open?" Ben asked, becoming impatient.

Lorna: "Scan first, then open."

SinJin: "Rachel, that's you, love. Anything?"

rachel: Rachel chewed on her lip as she searched for any minds that could be behind the door. She shook her head, "Nope. Nothing."

Lorna: "Right then, let's go for it."

Benjamin: Ben opened the door and held his wrists out, ready to web shoot anyone who popped in front of them.

SinJin: Peering in, he saw nothing. "Well, that was a big nothing." He turned around, just in case someone was lurking that way, and attempted to push them in and lock the door

Benjamin: Ben walked around the room. "I think we went the wrong way." He turned to Rachel and the map in her hand. "You sure this is it?"

rachel: Rachel followed the others in and looked around, "Yeah, this is kinda disappointing."

Lorna: "There has to be something in there." Lorna stayed at the door, keeping guard.

SinJin: He prowled around, happening upon a speaker. He bent down and asked, "hello?"

SinJin: It crackled to life, and blasted, "Hello? Can you hear me?" There was giggling somewhere behind the main speaker.

Lorna: "If office shenanigans finding is our goal I think that might be it."

Benjamin: Ben nearly leapt out of his skin as the voiced crackled through. "I... I know that voice... Who is that?"

SinJin: "Japh - is that you?" He rolled his eyes as Cessily obviously fell off something, laughing madly. "Oh, smooth - what a hunt."

Lorna: "So we've basically made our way in here to hear something we could have just walking down the hall?"

rachel: Moving over to where Ginny and the speaker were, she sighed. "Guess so."

SinJin: "Sod this - let's go get lunch somewhere."

Benjamin: Ben laughed nervously and shook his head. "Oh man... thank God this is all it was."

rachel: "Lunch sounds awesome," she grinned and headed back toward the door.

SinJin: He followed, punching the button for the elevator.

Lorna: "And coffee." Lorna nodded adamantly as she headed towards the elevator. "Got the speaker though, yes? Pretty sure we don't want to leave something like that behind...might make the office worker's lives more interesting though."

Benjamin: Ben waved to them as he ran to the elevator, hauling the speaker over his shoulders. "Okay so we're gonna go get lunch now right? Who's got all the packages?" Ben looked at each of them and then around the otherwise empty elevator. "...Did anyone get them?"

SinJin: "I still have mine,"

rachel: "Yeah, I still have mine, too..." she held the box up.

Benjamin: Ben looked at the speaker on his shoulder. "Oh shit."

Lorna: "Just carry it like it's your package and let's go. Hurrying is probably a good idea at the moment."

SinJin: "Yeah..." He held the doors open for the others, and punched the button for the main floor.

Benjamin: As the elevator doors slid back open Ben poked his head out and turned to the others. "Let's get the hell out of here." He rasped to them. "Before someone says, hey what are you four kids doing in the basement?" With that, strolled out, carrying the speaker like he was Moses coming down Sinai with the tablets themselves.

rachel: Rachel made her way out of the elevator and frowned. "Shit," she muttered, spotting the woman at the front desk talking to a couple guys that looked a lot like security guards.

Lorna: "I think we might be needing a distraction soon." Lorna eyed the security guards, deciding that she could take them but didn't really want it to get to that. That would just be peachy.

SinJin: "Uh oh. I guess she didn't quite believe my line." He looked around, and spied a fire sprinkler through an open door. "Get ready to blend in, folks." He sauntered over to the door and slipped into the stairwell. A few minutes later, the fire alarm went off, and the sprinklers went off.

Benjamin: Holding the speaker over his head, Ben didn't have to try hard to act surprised or alarmed. The security guards began to run about in an unorganized fashion, half trying to help people out, the other half trying to figure out why the alarms and sprinklers went off.

Lorna: Ditching the package, Lorna did her best to blend in, really glad she had thought to wear a hat today. Hats were handy things when it came to her having to blend in more at least. It really was time to seriously consider doing something about her hair she supposed.

SinJin: He grinned as he pocketed his lighter and ducked into the main lobby, looked a bit pissed, dazed and generally like he'd had his whole day ruined. He grabbed Lorna's arm. "Let's go before they do a head count of employees."

rachel: Rachel dropped the package and kicked it away from her, making her way through the crowd toward the doors they came in. <Meet where we started this little trip?> she sent to the others.

Benjamin: <I can't get through the revolving door!> Ben replied. He was trying to squeeze the speaker through but it wouldn't make it. "Gah!" Finally with a punch he sent the speaker flying onto the side walk. Running over, he grabbed it and jogged a little ways down the sidewalk.

Lorna: That was definitely not stealthy. <You'd best hurry. I imagine they'll assume you're looting or something.> Lorna kept a fairly calm pace to match with everyone around her and was quite glad to be outside. <Yes, meet up and head back to the school.>

SinJin: He shook his head, dispersing water all over. "Well, that was fun." He grinned and ambled off, checking to see if his cell phone was all right. <Good idea.> It was, and he took the opportunity to give Japh a piece of his mind.
"... Pirates just kidnapped the bride and everyone is laughing. God I wish I spoke Finnish."
