Timeline - Anywhere that fits really

Ju: Ju yawned, slurping her smoothie. It was...well, it was morning, and a weekend she was sure. No one was about, so it probably was, and she'd come down to the kitchen with her laptop and decided to make herself a smoothie before hitting Warcraft, not feeling hungry. She never felt hungry these days. Or tired.

Ju: Trailing out into the garden, shivering a little despite the warmth, she curled up in her blanket on one of the seats and booted up her laptop. Lessee, it was her hunter's turn to be leveled, right? Lei. Yawning again, Ju put the glass down and put her hands on her laptop, interfacing without a thought. It was so quick and easy these days....

Ju: Within seconds and with barely a thought she had the bright, fake and pixellated World of Warcraft around her. This was better then the DR. At least here she couldn't have people interrupting her and dragging her to the dull, lifeless Real World. Looking down, she stretched her Blood Elven hands and ran them through her fake hair. Weird, considering this was a male set of pixels....

Ju: Checking her pet was at her side, she headed off to the teleporter in the bright city, 'clicking' on it and feeling a moment's disorientation as it dumped her outside Undercity, a dank, gloomy place.

Viress: The Forsaken warlock who'd been sitting in the nice, quite alcove with the big shiney ball thing jumped up when the blood elf suddenly appeared out of no where, "Argh!" he yelled before peering intently at the elf, "Ah! One of the noble denzines of fairest Silvermoon, I do apologise sirrah," he gave a low bow, his imp minion fidgiting next to him, "you quite startled this poor sack of bones."

Lei: Ju blinked. Ah, RP. Right. And this was a 'srs' Rper obviously. Rubbing her head, she grinned, feeling the comfort of getting into character. "Oh, uh....I'm sorry. Hardly call myself noble though. Just passing through." She waved down the white lion that was her pet, and he stopped growling. "Didn't hurt you, did I?"

Viress: "Hurt? Hurt? There is not much, I fear, left in this world that can hurt me, what with being dead and all, but thank you most kindly for your concern young master elfling," the character gave another low bow, "but I am remenise in my manners, Viress Weathertoss at your service, in life naught but a humble conjurer and tumbler for a few meger coin, now in undeath gifted with the ability to channel the void it would seem, but hopfully still gifted with the ability to entertain ... not that anyone really smiles around here for fear that thier face might fall off."

Lei: Ju couldn't help the laugh, resisting the urge to pat the warlock on the head. "Lei Sunrunner, Ranger of Silvermoon, much good it does me these days. Are you waiting for anyone in particular or just lurking? Either way we should move before we get landed on." This was why she staying in WoW so much. Removed from reality, no need to think. Lei didn't have a dead mother.

Viress: "Oh no, no," Viress smiled a little sadly, "there is no one anymore who I would wait for, such is how the world turns alas, but it would seem that fair dame fortune hath brough us together, so perhaps I might walk with you a small while, perhaps there is something that we might converse about." He shrugged and eyed the lion warily, "Though I would be greatly relieved if you informed me that your most noble beast had feed recently," he added.

Lei: Ju waved a hand as she stroked the lion's mane. "Oh, he won't go for you unless you decide to harm me." She pointed. "Shall we?" She liked this guy already. "Unless you have pressing business, and even then I can act as escort if you need it...."

Viress: "No buisness have I, except entertainment. I came to the Undercity to see if perhaps her majesty the Lady Sylvannas required a court jester perhaps, alas her ladyship's humour has cooled with her flesh. But perhaps we might assist each other, Master Sunrunner, you might be able to give me an honest opinion of how the training of my infernal imp in the noble art of tumbling is progressing." He prodded the imp with one booted foot.

Lei: "Hah! Yes, Sylvannas has seemed to become a little - er - stiff." Ju chuckled. "You train your imp in entertainment?"

Viress: Viress chuckled, "Oh yes, very good there Master Sunrunner, I can see you are a wit. And yes, or at least I am attempting too, and fear I am failing misrably." He let out a deep sigh, "but, such is life, or un-life. So where are you headed?"

Lei: "Somewhere with sunlight. And possibly adventure. So, Kalimdor." Lei - no, Ju - waved her hand, looking up at the murky sky with distaste. "Echeyakee here has no love for darkness, do you?" The lion purred in response, shaking his mane. "I thought imps were willful little sods anyway?" She made a mental note to add Viress to his friends later. Finally, real RP!!

Viress: "They are, that is why I fear I fail," they made thier way to the zepline to the other continent, "So what is your purpose in life, what are you hoping to get out of it. It's a time of great turmoil in the world and some of us find ourselves floundering after all."

Lei: Ju shrugged. "I'm a wanderer. No fixed ideas as to how I'll spend my time yet, besides doing things for other people. That's all I seem to do these days. That or avoid them altogether." Okay, that was too close to Real Life. Stay in character, Lei. "And you? Besides being an entertainer."

Viress: "Avoiding people all together?" The warlock shook his head, "My dear elfling, no man ... or elf rather, is an island, have you not companions? Friends? Those who would ease your path through this life with good wine and good company?" Viress looked from side to side warily before leaning in closer, "As for myself ... well, there is a doom upon me, oh yes indeed," his burning yellow eyes seemed to dim slightly, "Im am forbidden from speaking of it, only in times like this am I even somewhat free of it, and remember the peril I am in, the rest of the time I am nothing more then an oddity, a strange little warlock who makes those around me smile."

Lei: Ju raised an eyebrow. Very shifty. "I don't need any companions besides my pets. I'm a hunter, a ranger, and I-I can survive on my own." Lei cleared his throat. "But perhaps I can help you with this...peril?"

Viress: The warlock laughed, "Perhaps you can, perhaps my little elf, you have a kind soul I can see, and brave too, but not just yet, but soon I hope, but that is enough for the nameless dangers that dog my steps through all worlds. Let us speak of you, lonely one-" he was cut off as the zeplin they'd boarded moved off and the loading screen appeared as the moved to the other continent of this virtual world and came to the harsh desert of Durotar, where the orc's made thier home.

Viress: "While I'm sure your feline makes a good hunting companion, perhaps he is not such a good coversationalist? He ... does not have a soul, he is not of flesh of blood like you and I think you will find that in the furture you will find him hollow companionship," he continued.

Lei: Lei looked down at his lion. "He's company enough. I don't need all that much conversation, really." Ju shrugged, before some part of her that was still attached to the outer world reminded her there was a smoothie still to be finished. She brought up the /w option. [brb]

Ju: Blinking as the bright, warm and real sunlight nearly blinded her after the virtual world, Ju tried to shake the baking heat of Durotar and make sense of things that were non-pixelated. Reaching for her smoothie, she didn't notice her hand start to shake badly. Finally, a real RP. Better then just levelling by far....but it was odd what the 'lock was saying. Almost like....

Ju: Pffft. Ju wasn't lonely. Plenty to do on WoW. Plenty of people that didn't tiptoe round her or remind her that h-her mum was gone, left her. People who didn't randomly strip off, too, though that was just her being petty. She refused to look at her stump as she took another sip, nearly dropping the glass.

Ju: Sinking back into the game after putting it down, she blinked as she saw Viress air-guitaring. She laughed. "Nice moves!"

Viress: The warlock cheered and gave another bow, "Heh, nice to know that I've still 'got it'," he cackled, "unfortunatly my imp has yet to pick up on it," he gestured to the demon, "Come on, show Master Lei your tumbling," he prompted.

Viress: The imp stood there, fidgiting and looking from side to side untill about a minute later when it performed it's idle animation of a forward flip followed by a back flip, "Hmm ... seems to be getting there slowly," Viress sighed.

Lei: Ju clapped at the imp. "It's progress." She grinned, leading the way off the zeppelin.

Viress: The warlock walked down the ramp and looked around, "I have to say I'm not too keen on deserts, the sand get's in very unpleasent places, anyway ... what was I saying ...?"

Lei: "Imp." Ju prompted, looking around. "I like deserts. Prefer forests, though."

Viress: He waved his hand, "No ... before the imp ... ah yes, I remember now," he stopped and turned to face the elf, "I think that maybe you have been hurt and are scared of forming bonds with others? Did you loose someone close to you in the war?" He asked sympathetically.

Lei: Ju pulled up short. No, this wasn't Real Life, this player didn't know her, didn't know what had happened. "....Maybe." Still. It caught her out. Oh well, she could make something up and say it was in character....

Viress: The zombie nodded, "I thought so, everyone says that this is war, you loose those close to you, but that doesn't change the fact that you're hurt and angry about it, and that it'll heal in time," he shook his head, "it doesn't, it just hurts less." Viress looked off into the distance, "My father was a soilder and he died when I was young, about nine, I remember when we heard the news I just climbed under the table and didn't come out for two days."

Viress: He smiled at Lei, "I am approaching my eighteenth year if you would believe it, so I am still young, but in all those years I have never forgotten him, I miss him every day, my mother and my sisters also, being what I am, I can't go home, but my father most. It never stops hurting, but it does become easier to cope with."

Viress: The warlock leaned heavily on his staff, "Perhaps this is how you feel, you're scared of letting your friends in, for fear of yet more hurt, that is understandable my friend, but foolish. You think that maybe they don't care, can't understand, but they do, far more then you could ever realise. Don't turn your back on them in your pain, it will cause nothing but more pain. Please think upon what I have said, and don't dismiss it out of hand for I speak from experiance. And remember, I am always avaliable to those I who need me."

Viress: He gave the elf a warm smile, "But I sense that perhaps I have disturbed you with this talk, so I shall leave you in peace to think upon these things. Farewell Lei, I'm sure our paths will cross again," the warlock bowed and waved goodbye to the elf before walking off slowly towards the main city.

Ju: Ju just stood there, watching the undead walk away. Faster then a thought, she had pulled out of the laptop, the machine dying with a kind of 'erk' sound, and was crying hard into her blanket, harder then she had when she'd been sat at her mother's bed and her world had ended.

Ju: It took a long time, far longer then it felt before she was able to stop, breath coming in hard sobs. It was only a player on a game, saying something in character. Nothing else. It just....oh god....

Awww, poor Ju. But really well played, you two. Ju needs more sake, and hugs.
