timeline: after Pass the Scandals
Jessica: Jess sat curled up on her bed, reading her book. It was one of her few possessions and her favourite book.
Johnny: Johnny knocked on Jess' door before walking in and stating, "Come on."
Jessica: Jess's eyebrows rose as she looked up, "Huh?"
Johnny: "I need your help, so come on?" he tried again, shifting his weight from one foot to the other impatiently.
Jessica: "With what?" She shifted a little.
Johnny: "Shopping."
Jessica: "Uh.... are you sure I'm the right person for that?"
Johnny: He shook his head, "No, but I'm not really friends with any other girls... At least none that came to mind before you..."
Jessica: Jess gave him an incredulous look, "You've known me less than a week."
Johnny: "So?"
Jessica: "You really aren't more friends with some of the other women around here than you are with me? Really?"
Johnny: "Well, I mean... There's my sister, but she hardly counts..."
Jessica: "Wow that's.... wow... the way Hope blew up you'd think you were a ladies man or something.... Really?"
Johnny: He gave a shrug, "I guess she scared everyone else away..."
Jessica: She sighed, "I guess I can help..."
Johnny: Johnny grinned widely, "About time you agreed."
Jessica: "Well it's not like I can say I have plans...." She closed her book and put it carefully onto her nightstand then thought better of it and put it in her backpack to take with her.
Johnny: "Except now you do... with the most awesome person ever."
Jessica: "If you say so...." she pulled her shoes on then got up to get her recently purchased coat.
Johnny: He nodded sagely, "Of course I do."
Jessica: She picked up her bag, "Okay, ready.... what are we shopping for?"
Johnny: "Flowers and crap like that," Johnny answered as he started for the door.
Jessica: "Uh... okay...." she ran a hand through her hair.
Johnny: "You do know about all that stuff, right?"
Jessica: "Um.... not... not really..."
Johnny: "Oh..." He supposed this could get interesting as he made his way toward the garage.
Jessica: ((time passess))
Johnny: Johnny frowned down at the selection of flowers, warily eying the bouquets, "How do you pick one...?"
Jessica: She shrugged, "Pick something that smells nice or looks nice? Or both?"
Johnny: "Well, that's why I brought you... You're the girl. What looks nice?"
Jessica: "Uh... those ones?" She pointed.
Johnny: He gave a shrug and picked up the one she pointed at, "Good enough... What else do girls like?"
Jessica: "... Why are you asking me this like I have any idea what's normal?"
Johnny: "Um... Because you are a girl...?"
Jessica: "I've lived in amsterdam for nearly four years. Before that it was just me and my dad since I was five. I was homeschooled. So try again."
Johnny: Johnny skeptically eyed her, "Maybe I should've brought my sister..."
Jessica: "That would have been the sensible choice...."
Johnny: "Lucky for you, I don't think most would describe me as sensible."
Jessica: "Lucky?" she frowned.
Johnny: "Yes, lucky. As in... You're so lucky to get the chance to hang out with me."
Jessica: "I was perfectly fine reading my book in my room... and I was warmer then."
Johnny: He rolled his eyes, "It's not even that cold."
Jessica: ".... Says the guy that can light himself on fire."
Johnny: "Well, I could warm you up, if you wanted," Johnny commented. After it was out of his mouth, he realized how badly that was phrased...
Jessica: Jess raised an eyebrow, "You got in trouble last time you attempted to make me more comfortable."
Johnny: "I didn't mean like that, and I can manage without touching you for this," he rolled his eyes.
Jessica: "Um... no you're okay..."
Johnny: "You don't have to sound so scared..." Johnny replied as he looked around the store, gaze settling on the candy. How was he supposed to choose from that crap?
Jessica: "Well I dread to think what kind of evil plans you'd come up with...."
Johnny: He snorted, "Anyway... What candy? If you can even call it that..."
Jessica: "I don't know.... what does she like?"
Johnny: "Minty things... I think..."
Jessica: "So look for those?" she gave a shrug.
Johnny: "You are totally no help..."
Jessica: "Well it's your own fault for expecting me to be." She folded her arms.
Johnny: "I'll make a mental note."
Jessica: She sighed heavily, "Are we nearly done?"
Johnny: He grabbed a bag of peppermints with a shrug, "Sure?"
Jessica: "Awesome. Then we can go back right?"
Johnny: "You don't want to get anything?"
Jessica: "With what money?"
Johnny: He shrugged, "What do you want to get?"
Jessica: "Nothing, I'm fine..."
Johnny: "Is your book really that good?" Johnny asked as he started toward the counter to pay for the things.
Jessica: She shrugged, "I must've read it a billion times by now...."
Johnny: "So, you could go get a new one..."
Jessica: "But I like that one.... and I don't need a buy a new one - there's a library...."
Johnny: He paid for the things, rolling his eyes.
Jessica: "Don't roll your eyes at me... I don't have a job... I can't just spend money...."
Johnny: "I was going to buy it for you."
Jessica: Jess frowned, "I've known you for less than a week."
Johnny: "And?"
Jessica: "So you can't just... It's not right...." she shook her head.
Johnny: He shrugged, "I don't see why not since I've made you come shopping with me."
Jessica: "It's just not... I wouldn't feel right...."
Johnny: "Well, then, let's just go back to the school?"
Jessica: "Fine with me... and we'll just say you owe me if I ever need to go shopping for someone - unlikely as it is."
Johnny: He nodded, "Deal."
Jessica: "Great... come on then..." she headed for the door.
