Timeline before Ringtones

Rachel pulled her hair down, raking a hand through it before putting it back up. She really wished she had earplugs or her headphones would do nicely if she didn't have to hear in order to do her job. She went and checked on some tables and leaned against the wall. Never having children. Ever.

She glanced around. She really shouldn't, not here, but she was bored and people were irritating. At least if she had something to focus on, she wouldn't hear half of their thoughts. Wouldn't be a problem if you could shield properly. Fuck it.

Oh the Club was dull that night...Lizzie thought as she stood, making polite conversation with a friend of her sister-in-law, a drink in one hand. Maybe Shaw or Angel will show up... she thought, hoped, when a voice slipped past her sheilds. Jumping, she excused herself from the woman and headed to a corner.

Rachel resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she walked around to make it seem like she was doing something.

she frowned. Wasn't Rae at home? Well, work at the moment, she thought as she considered the time.

She glanced around the room, blinking at all the flashing lights, She chewed on her lip for a moment,

Her lip curled up in a smirk

She held back the snicker as she went to get a refill for someone.

Sliding herself into an alcove, she propped up against a wall, doing just that, keeping her head turned slightly away from the room to obscure the dancing pink lights around her face.

Rachel poked at a wall, making sure it wasn't sticky or anything, and leaned back against it. She did her best to ignore the pink and sparkly, bad enough that she gave off flickers every once it a while. Luckily, it blended in with everything.

recalling her own mispent younger years, she wondered if many other teenagers were dragged along by their parents. She'd certainly never seen any herself.

Lizzie asked after a pause, not wanting to say that little phrase, but knew it had to be asked.

She brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, glancing around.

she sighed. turning her face away from the crowded roo, she bit her lip.

Rachel sighed and found someone, telling them she was taking a break. She slipped outside through the back door she normally came in through.

Leaning against the building, she slid to the ground.

Wishing she had something to sit on, she made sure her back was firmly against the wall, looking down at the richly carpeted floor. she asked, not wanting to push it, but she couldn't help with this alone.

She shook her head. she added.

Lizzie sighed, her teeth gritted.

She wasn't sure if that made her feel better; Rae had given in far too easily. Normally any suggestion of therapy was shrugged off. This was a new one...Fidgeting with the material of her dress, she scanned the room for Shaw, or Angel again.

Rachel pulled her hair down and ran her hand through it again, not exactly sure she liked the idea of therapy.

she raised an eyebrow. This was better. Not talking about her problems was good.

she trailed off as her mind wandered over Angels little wink wink nudge nudges of the past week or so.

Rachel attempted a smirk as she stood up.

she trailed off, hoping Liz would get it.

she noted, spotting a familiar face across the room...

Rachel slowly made her way back inside to the insanity.

Lizzie smiled, even though Rae wouldn't see it and finished her drink off, setting it down on a side table. Making her way across the crowd, she brought the smile back for a familiar face...
