yep, but i think they're gonna need to redesing his outfit for being more according to the swords because the leather outfit doesn't look very aproppiate for me to wearing it with swords.

Hummm... good point... well... maybe keep the leather but go more for a leather armor reminiscent of medieval/high fantasy... it will definately need a pirate/swasbuckler touch to it... *grins at the thought*

Oooh....you guys should see one of the alternate costumes in Next Dimension. It's yellow and swashbuckly yet kinda realistic like the leather ones. Hard to explain. It's costume 2B on the PS2 if anyone out there can get screen caps.

It's not ALL yellow. It's mostly black. And there's a red version in the game, too...costume 2A.

Visit my fanart site and look at the first picture- That's the costume I designed that I think looks good with a sword. I'm working on another version that lets you see the large shirt collar, and I'll post that when I'm done with it.Originally posted by kurtlover

Should Nightcrawler carry a sword?
As it is In My Idiom, allow me t' disagree.
(With the sword thing, that is.)
Swords are dated. They're clumsy. And they're offensive, in a weapony way.
How many supervillians are ya gonna come across these days who'll say, like Basil Rathbone might have (and, being a master fencer, he had to dumb down his film fights with Errol Flynn--just a by-the-by), "Ah, rapiers, my good man? Why not?" Nope: one of the hallmarks of modern villainy is "long-distance destruction." Death rays, Kalashnikovs, and rocket launchers: all the rage.
Clumsy. Revolving doors. Getting in and out of cars. Dashing past ceiling fixtures on your way to a rescue. Can we say "hung up," boys and girls?
On the offensive. Don't know what it is, but this reminds me of the "open carry" gun laws in certain [southern] states. The idea of Kurt openly packing a weapon--in this more "visible" era of mutantdom--seems wrong.
Most importantly: you think it's tough getting into a 7-11 with bare blue feet? Try it with bare blue feet and a huge hunka cutlery.
That said, if he HAS to be lugging blades around, I'd opt for something that straps across his back--like the long knives Legolas carries in "Lord of the Rings." Short, adaptable, and out of the way.

OH Dude! Legolas' knives? That would so rock. I do believe AOA Kurt carried his sword cross his back.
As for the leather armor/pirate/swashbuckler mixing... it can be done... Personally I think the idea of pirate in leather armor's pretty cool... but say... do a leather armor style vest and put under it a white (or black or red!) swashbuckler style shirt.. ya know the kind with the big sleeves and mebbe the tops of his boots could turn down like the pirates do...

Not if he's a pro...and he is! Persides, he should be dangerous! BTW Great pic NightcrawlerZERO!

betablue-
inresponse to your saying swords are clumsy...depends on the sword. i hardly consider a rapier clumsy and to using it can require some very delicate movements.
perhaps crawler should refrain from carrying a sword for the moment. maybe emergency sleeves daggers if necessary, but the sword carrying thing doesn't seem to fit at the moment- though we could see a good fight were he somehow ends up using a blade!

nightcrawler zero-I've seen that one before... I think I may have visited your site once or twice... it's a great pic!
kl-agree with me on what?
--edit--
Oh! An idea just hit me! What if one of the newer members of x-men decided they want to learn to fight w/ a sword... and they pick one up and do a seriously nasty job with it... and Kurt from sheer insult picks his swords back up to teach this teammate how to do it right! And then from comoplete nostalgia he says "Why did I ever put them down?" Wouldn't that so rock?
