I know Marvel used to list it under their website for powers, but as far as comics goes, does anyone know any particular comic issue(s) where something similar is stated?

Well wadda know, I got a Nightcrawler fansite too!

it was in #63 in Cloud Nine (headquartedr of R.C.X) and they were testing Nightcrawler because of this disese thing that was effecting mutants there as he was the only fully mature mutant in the place (it had somethig to do with reverting to human, then dying when they hit adolesance or something) and this little bald scientist dude was getting all excited about Nightcrawlers powers and abilities and stuff.
In case you're wondering, i read it out of the issue that's right infront of me now.
thank me kindly, it took me all of two minutes to find it:LOL:

It's also been described on his bio in "The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe"
Vol. 1, No. 8, August, 1983
Page 5.

"His spine is more flexible than an ordinary human's, allowing him to spend much of his time in a semi-crouched position without damaging his posture."

Silly question here: I've seen Kurt drawn with his legs bending like a cat's hind legs (with the knee at the rear of the leg, as in Kia Asimaya's concept sketches for Kurt's new costume), and with normal human legs (with the knee at the front, obviously).

Which do you guys prefer? I'm quite partial to the cat-legs look, myself, since it makes Kurt look a little more demonic, and thus enhances the contrast between his somewhat frightening appearance and his huggable/kissable/wanna-hold-him-all-night-long personality (Bacchus, the god of wine and song, had goat-like legs, just like the classical rendition of Satan), but I also don't mind the normal-legs look (which gives him a more iconic appearance).

What's the verdict? Cat-legs or human legs?

i think the only one where he REALLY had the backwards bending legs is in Evo, i am pretty sure he was merely leaning forward and standing on his foes in Kia's drawing. as he was walking perfectly normally with his feet flat on the ground in 416 ;)

i liked his feet the best as drawn by Alan Davis, personally...they looked... i dunno, real, plauseable and functional. Davis put a lot of thought into how they were put togehter and how they functioned, and it showed...

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking....

Image

See? his thighs go forward and his knees connect to his calves wich go back like a regular person's. His legs look like they are separated into three parts, but it's actually just because his feet are so long and he walks on his toes. Like Disney's Gargoyles do...(did :( )

Chicken's knees go backward and it looks like this...

well. technically the legs of a chicken or a cat, for that matter, are essentially the same. ALL vertebrate animals, regardless of species, from humans to birds to crocodiles to horses to whales have essentially the same bones in ther limbs, just that some of them have certain parts longer/shorter than others and/or fused together. a cats legs have all the same bones as a human, but a cat walks on their toes.

check out the book Cyclopedia Anatomicae by György Fehér. quite interesting comparisons between skeletons and muscle structure of many animals, including humans.

i was actually sorta agreeing with you Phil :p Kurts legs in Evo ARE like a cats and bend backward... it's jsut that that is not his knee but his heel. but a cat's hind leg what appears to be it's knee is really its heel as well...

but i still like them best as Alan Davis drew them ;)

Hmm. I used to think that Nightcrawler has two different joints on his legs. :P

Guess I was looking at the elf wrong. ;)

But with Kurt's porting, fur, funkey skeleton and missing didgits, is there any part of him that isn't unique? :?
