Anybody have any ideas (or want to create possibilities) why the Wolvy and X-men covers (issues 2 &3) have all the little crawlers? i absolutely love Bachalo and love seeing him draw Kurt and my curiosity on this is piqued. Cannot figure if it's a possible story line thing or Chris doing one of his trademark repeating images thing.

I would love an image of this, I tried googling and couldn't find it.

This sounds really interesting though, I have no clue.

I do agree though, Bachalo is awesome. I just got some of his earlier Uncanny-X stuff with the introduction of Maggott. very fun read.

Weird that they appear to be little Nightcrawlers... but they're much spookier looking...

and they seem to be covered in tattoos or scars... symbolic imagery even... similar to that of X-2 Nightcrawler.

Boy do I hope that's not becoming canon :rolleyes

Maybe they're just saying this is what's following Wolverine? They might be in his head? Or they might have something to do with that "Q" guy, the one with the spray paint on the first cover you linked.

Creeepy. It's like bamfs bred with those fairies from Don't be Afraid of the Dark. Which could be kinda fun, actually. :shifty

I don't care for Quentin Quire, but the graffiti cover amuses me.

Side note: they're rebooting The Defenders again?! Ima have to tell my husband. They're his sentimental favorites.

What is up with Quentin Quire? What's his story anyways? I thought he was a villain...

Kid Omega is a Grant Morrison character, as far as I can remember. He was a student, supposedly an omega-level mutant, went wacky and they imprisoned him. Apparently he got loose?

They look like pretty standard modern Bachalo-drawn Nightcrawlers to me. The multiples seem slightly faded in the Krakoa cover, so I'm guessing it's an interpretation of the teleporting. Maybe they're meant to show where Kurt recently was.

Acourse, it could be something completely different. One never can tell with Bachalo. His art's so stylized these days that it can be difficult to make sense of it. :/

EDIT - Given some comments by Jason Aaron on Twitter, they may well be separate critters. He says they'll be explained in WatXM #1. :shrug

Maybe Wolverine misses Kurt so much that he's started hallucinating little Nightcrawlers everywhere.

I actually think that, as hilarious as that is, that could be a likely scenario.

I mean... it would be funny... but it would be sad too.

Hey, the Wee Free Men! The Nac Mac Feegle have arrived in the Marvel universe and not a kilt in sight.
I like it. And I'm a big fan of the way Bachalo draws Kurt, so I'm in. I wonder how I can get these...
*edit*
so this means there are 3 covers with little blue men?

I think the Bamfs were kind of cute too.

Those things Bachalo is drawing look kind of evil. I've never been fond of his Kurt. He draws Kurt more like an imp than a man. I prefer my Kurt to be sexy and not creepy.

I don't keep up with ANYthing nowadays - IRL or Marvelverse - but pleeeease reassure me that they are not zombie! Kurts. As for the Feegles (GLAD you brought that into the discussion, lassie), the ones in the Wolvie cover DO appear to have somewhat Braveheartian (yes, I made that up) battle paint (pleeeease reassure me those are not movieverse tats).

Carry on, folks - I'm outta here for a while. Still months behind posting the fanfic, dirty house, and critiques to write.

Little crawlers are explained (sort of) in Wolvy and X-men #1. Which, by the way, is one of the best comics i've read in a long, long time. Lots of fun!

This is how I'd rather have my comics. To hell with all the dark nasty hopelessness that the X-books have mostly been lately. They are after all called COMICS. Anyway, if 616 Nightcrawler came back it would make this book all the more fun. *crosses fingers* Excalibur was been and still is my favorite X-book.

I'm very X-cited to read this issue now! :smug

My friend and I believe they are leading up to a reunion (and possible ongoing or mini) of a new Excalibur. Wouldn't be surprised if they go the AoA route though (with AoA Kurt in it) and change it to X-Calibre.
