Maybe a way to explain Nightcrawler not being able to walk o
This is all assuming Marvel is still going with the idea that his wall-crawling powers are still based around the teleportation field that surrounds him.
For those who don't know, Marvel was originally going with this idea that Nightcrawler had suction cups on his hands. That of course made little sense and was done about 15 years ago. But lately they've switched to this idea that Nightcrawler wall-crawling works by the teleportation field. And it works something like this.
The dimension that Nightcrawler teleports in and out of constantly surrounds him. That's why he always (or at least should always) appear to be in dark shadows. It's because that dimension is constantly sucking in light from around him. The wall-crawling theory is that not only is it sucking in light, but trying to suck in matters as well. So whenever Kurt sticks to a wall, that teleportation field is trying to suck in the matter and thus Kurt sticks.
There's also a flaw in this idea too. Since glass is essentially matter and doesn't explain why he can't walk on it.
So, out of the blue really, I thought of the only thing that seperates glass from any other hard service - volume.
When Nightcrawler sticks to an object, there's always a significant amount of mass behind it. Even walls inside a building can be pretty thick. But with glass, not only is it thin, there's really nothing behind it but open space.
So my theory is that Nightcrawler can't stick to glass because behind the glass there isn't enough matter for his teleportation field to suck in. Almost like it's asking Nightcrawler to walk on air.
So do you think my theory that Nightcrawler can't walk on glass due to glass not having significant mass behind it is a decent theory?

I know why he can't walk on glass-
often you see 'crawler whithout shoes, so he'd cut his elfy feet, thus he dosen't walk on glass.

Actually it make sense to me a lot specially if you noticed than he used to walk on the walls and ceilings wearing shoes and glooves with his classic uniform.

And I'm assuming his invisibility power comes from the dimension sucking in light on one side of him, and spitting it out on the other, like a fiber-optic cable? Now we just need to link his agility to his teleportation power and we're all set.
Maybe a way to explain Nightcrawler not being able to walk o
I don't think it spat the light out. It just sucked it in from all sides. Like a mini blackhole, only...not because that's not how blackholes work. :p
Speaking of fiber optic cables, did anyone see Die Another Day? I want an invisible car like that.

If it just sucked in the light, kurt would appear as a walking sillohuette (is that how you spell it?)

Well, wait, if the teleportation thing was what makes him stick to stuff....wouldn't he stick to people he was shaking hands with or something?
Kurt: Nice to meet you
Person: Pleasures all mine.
Kurt: ........
Person: Uhh.....you can let go of my hand now...
Kurt: sorry, I can't.
Person: Why?
Kurt: Something about some teleportation field or something.
Person: Crap.

It is stated that he can't stick to anything frictionless...been shown too...
The matter-sucking bit could still work...maybe it needs to sort of seep in a bit...and the suction's not so strong that he can't let go...

I have that comic. Also the issue with Magnus where Kurt slips in the forest because the explosion left the ground frictionless. But either theory (suction or portal) has continuity flaws. I just figured my idea would be more up to date since I haven't seen him slip on a non-glass frictionless service in quite some time.

This is a little off topic, but what was he thinking about Jean for? I think I read that issue but I can't remember what happened. Someone want to clue me in?

That was all during the Dark Phoenix storyline and he was worried about her.

There's an odd bit of science trivia floating around in my head that glass is actually an extremely slow moving liquid....

That stuff kinda makes sense but it kinda dosen't... It kinda makes me confused about it. Maybe when the switched off the writers of the comix, they weren't compeletely clear on how Nightcrawlers power worked. Then again, they haven't really cleared that up yet.

What I don't understand: Is the suction fo the other dimention coming from inside of him (which would make more sense in bamfing) because if it is, then the suction of light would not only cause him to look like he's in the dark, but things close to him, like a kind of bubble of darkness surrounding him, Sorry if I'm rambling, it makes sense to me.

Hee! Well the explaination all depends on which writer is writing Kurt, and whether or not the next writer wants to pick up or trash previously established history! Plot Master anyone?

The writers like to make their own things about the characters they're talking about... If I was the writer of Kurt, some of you might not like him anymore. I'm a bery bery bad wrider

There should just be a Big Ol' Factoid sheet explaining EVERYthing about him so that stupid writers can't screw up logic and make contradictions.

Kurt probably can't walk on glass or stick to it because normal panes are too thin for his transportation field to adhere to. That feild is what creates the suction or the ability to walk on the walls because they are strong enough to support whatever amount of weight is forced onto the surface so he can actually move about. Thus, he doesn't try to walk on glass because it would shatter from the weight he puts on it unless it was thick enough. At least that's my theory. Also, on the topic of glass and chemistry, even though it's not a slowly moving liquid...it still moves, as does everything else at an atomic level unless you froze an object to zero degree's on the...I think Kelvin (I know it starts with a K) scale of temperature. At that point, the atoms stop moving completely. I hope I didn't get too technical..wait I did, but oh well. Life goes on.
