Yay!!! I just got Nightcrawler #1 (original)

Y'know- in my opinion the new miniseries had nothing on the one of '85. I know there's a lot of anti-priest people out there. I for one- am anti-priest-- but I like the religous aspect of Kurt. It was just wrong of them to turn him from cool-character-that-has-faith-in-God to a stereotype.
Right- I don't know- the newer series spent a long time going nowhere. I mean - 4 issues is a LONG time to end up with "every little bit counts"- I know they were going for a more character-driven story- but I just didn't get that from the series. The covers (awesome) gave me more insight into his emotions than most of the story...
I guess I'm just a die-hard fan of Old-Kurt. I sat and watched Captain Blood nonstop for a week-such a great movie

The older miniseries had so much more of what I wanted from a Nightcrawler story.

and it was only 2 buck and issue to boot

Who was it that said Marvel needs a middle ground between slightly religious and priesthood? They do! Either a character never mentions god (save omg type comments) or is devout to the point of...annoyance. I want him to be a flirt, a pirate. Himself! He used to give Gambit a run for his money, now he gives Chamber one!

Exactly. Who says you can't be a flirty ladies man and not hold religeous beliefs? I know plenty of people who are religeous but don't jump up and go "I WANNA BE A PRIEST" because of it.

I like people like that. Because then you can have conversations on religion that go beyond a yes or no to "Do you believe in God". For some reason, conversations with men like that also tend to last longer than the "Hey, can I have your number?" conversations that spring up elsewhere.

I got the issue too(the whole story) And it was ashaming cheap. They hide it in a stack of bad stuff...sniff...No one here wanted it...sad thing...but i get it

I only just discovered this thread. I guess I'd seen it awhile back and assumed it was about the Icon miniseries. I had a lot of fun doing the NC miniseries, and I treated it with my philosophy of comics storytelling--that they should be entertaining and fun.

My Noightcrawler took no notice whatsoever of religion, because he was like me. I have no interest in religion whatsoever, it means nothoing to me. My attitude toward religion is that I have no answers, and I don't believe anybody else does either.

In fact, I'm not even interested in asking the questions.

And neither was Kurt.

$20 for all four issues. Nightfollower? That is a bit steep for here, but I guess we have to consider that your copies had to go all the way to Australia.

And no, Josh, 'intalkative isn't a word. It woule be 'untalkative.
