Yet another absurd question.

Does Nightie shed? I know there's commentary about it in practically every other story up on FF.net, and there may be something about it in the cartoon (don't get to see a whole bunch of the television much these days), but I don't recall reading anything about it in the comic book series.

For that matter, does Beast?

now there's a thought... Does kurt's fur get thicker during the winter? Ya know some animals grow winter coats and then shed for spring coats etc.

Ooo, good point SFR!

My opinion is that NC would shed to some extent. We all shed skin and hair, so I would conclude that Kurt and Hank would lose their fur similarly. However, I don't know if that has ever been substantiated by the comics. Just a theory!

I think maybe he sheds in the show. Gets fur in the food that sort of thing. I don't really watch it like hardly ever though. I think I just heard about that somewhere!
One thing I was wondering: Do he and Hank have to bathe more often so they don't get fleas?:?

In the eternal dribbling fanfic with which I amuse my niece, he goes in for the all-too-occasional full-body brush-out at Fantastic Fur, a nonexistent salon in a future Duluth, Minnesota, that also provides him with great deals on shampoo.

I know in one Evolution episode they make a small reference to him losing fur. They're in a pool and Kitty yells out something like "Professor! Kurt's, like, totally getting fur in the pool!" to which Kurt promptly says "Am not!".

I thought it was cute. They address the shedding thing a lot in fanfics, but not much anywhere else.

As far as his head-hair goes, I figure it's either hair like human hair, and so sheds accordingly, or it's a different kind of fur. Like guard hair and under-hair (does it have a name?) in wolves, the former sheds at low levels constantly, like human hair, and the latter sheds seasonally.

Dave I think mentioned his fur is like that of a seal. Do seals shed or get fleas?:?

Oh and I love chinchillas! They are so sweet!:) I had one quite a number of years ago (a little girl) by the name of Gizmo!

 (laughing at what roze said) Actually NL, I mostly meant like if seals didn't go in the water constantly would it be possible. It's silly though because I'm sure Kurt has perfectly fine hiegenic habits so fleas are probably not a real concern for him. Same thing for Hank. Actually that was pretty much a joke!:P:laugh: Anyway, I don't think there are any dogs that never shed. Some that shed very little. He could be like that. Or some animals only shed in the summer when it's warmer.

Everything with hair sheds to some degree. But poodles don't shed the way short hair dogs do. You have to cut a poodle's hair or it'll just keep growing.

I'd say most of Kurt's shed fur washes off when he bathes...

Yeah people tend to bathe more than dogs!

I think that he most likely sheds constantly...but as he does it constantly, there's not ever really any buildup anywhere to show that he's shedding. He may have to wash his bedsheets more often than a non-fuzzy person, but I think that that'd be about it. Beast, however, had better hope he deosn't shed at all. *winces at the thought of long blue hairs everywhere*

  The mansion's carpet better be blue, or else...ick. I know I'm certainly glad my carpet is beige. I can't see all the me-hair on it. When my hair was longer (up until 2 weeks ago) I know I shed ALL THE TIME. Now it's not so bad...which is part of what led me to believe that Beast would have some serious shedding problems...and that Kurt would probably be better off than Logan. ;)

This question always comes up whenever you talk about Kurt for more than 3 minutes. All my non-comic reading friends always ask me- and of course- it always goes back to the beard he had in Excalibur. How did he grow it? Does he shave normally? Does that mean he has to shave all over- or does the fur on his face grow at a different rate? (like how our eyelashes and eyebrows don't grow) I guess it's just one of those great mysteries of the universe.
