I think i remember reading somewhere that his fur is just mutated human hair. Look at your arm, see hair :surprise:? he just has lots of it! And blue, of course.

If it's mutated human hair it better be mutated so it doesn't feel like human hair. If his fur was like a lot of arm hair I would think that would be very nappy. :ick:

At least, that's my experience with really hairy guys. It's just disgusting.:yech:

*chuckles*
Let's all go back to the "seal fur" thing and leave it at that, eh?
:D

I've definitely gotten used to the seal concept. It explains a lot, such as the softness of his fur which has been mentioned at least once in the comics, possibly more, as well as the lack of shaggyness to his coat.

! Well I don't necessarily mean his fur is just like a seal's!:smirk:
Simply that it's of a similar consistency and length.
Although who knows! He could be waterproof!

Okay no maybe he just doesn't like ocean water or large ammounts of water or something.:?

Well i can't blame him for not liking the ocean! Great place to swim in, but it must feel all sticky if you have fur!

Someone suggested somewhere that he only likes water when there's a pretty girl in it...like the bathtub scene with Amanda...

I do have a tidbit, and if I find the issue, I'll post it. But in excalibur, while his leg was still broken, his arm was rubbed by a guest who commented it felt like velvet.

Damask also felt him in X-Calibur and said it was like velvet.

Yah that's the one I always think about.
She's like. Just as I thought. Like Velvet. Or something I don't remember.:P
I haven't read that issue in years!

I wish that the comics would try to express the fact that he has fur more often in the art. You can't tell unless your told. I don't know, fuzz the edges of his chin or elbows or something, make people know that he is indeed fuzzy and not just blue like Mystique.

I know that always kind of annoyed me. Like I say his fur is more smooth rather than shaggy like Hank's, but you should be able to sort of tell, at least in close ups or something. I knew he had fur from the first Excalibur I read. the shading around his head and stuff in that issue kinda brings out the look of fuzzyness. I think anyway..

"Fantastic Fur" I love it!

Yeah, his fur is very velvety (sp?). More then likely feels like your legs after you shave them. Depending on shred rate, and season, he might have to change/wash his bedsheets, at least maybe, every two weeks. A daily shower or bath would take care of most of the fur, but I wouldn't want to have to be the one, who had to clean the drain pipe when it gets clogged.

maybe they have a custom made "fur guard" for beast and kurt!

I wouldn't think that it would clog drains too much; since it's fine fur I don't think the clog would get clogged nearly as much as, say, Kenny G's drain. Have you seen that man's hair? It's freaky.

Gave me nightmares. But Kurt...lol. His drain can't be any worse than mine. My hair is to my rear. And I shed more than my cat!

Mine's very thick and to the middle of my back, I'm always pulling out loose hair....

Precisely why I like to keep my hair very short!;) It's way too thick and I shed like mad when I have it long (I can't even remember the last time it was past my shoulders)!:ick::rolleyes:
( whoah sorry quick sidenote: I'm past 950 posts! How in Heaven's name do I do that?!? )

I look best with long hair evidently. Everyone's like oh you should keep your hair long! It looks so pretty!:P
I don't look bad with short hair though and even if I did I wouldn't care!:smirk:
