Nightcrawler in Video Games

Post by CuteLittleBamf »

I'm sorry if this topic is already up I couldn't find it. I did look.

Anyway this is a topic to discuss nightcrawler in video games I know for a fact that he is in the two X-Men games on Sega Genesis and in at least one on Playstation 2 I don't have the games with me here but later I will post thier actual names if someone doesn’t beat me to it.

I just have to say that I'm a bit of a gamer myself and I love nightcrawler in video games especially in the old Sega ones. He's totally the best character! In the first X-men for genesis you can bamf through walls and miss like half a level the only problem in that game though is waiting to charge up to do it. I also like him in the 2nd one for genesis! He's really agile and his power works really well there. I have him on the playstation one too. I’m getting really good at him he has some really good specials! Is he in any other video games? I would love to know. Anyway go ahead discuss! :chatty

Nightcrawler in Video Games

Post by sevati »

Warning, long list ahead! Now, for me to put games on the list, it had to have at least one member of the X-Men in it. For example, Wolverine has several solo games, but in most of those other X-Men show up as friends. One game, Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems has a bunch of Marvel bigshots, but only has Wolverine from the X-Men.

According to GAMEFAQS.com, there are the following X-Men games for the following systems. Some of this is copied directly from the Search Results page since I couldn't direct link it.

Later I'll search again and see what games I see Nightcrawler in, but for now it's getting late and I'm about to fall asleep. I've marked where I stopped and will continue editing this post tomorrow.

The asterik '*' will mean Nightcrawler is in the game. The question mark '?' will mean I cannot find out if he's in the game or not because there's little information on the game itself. If there is nothing before the title then I'm sure Nightcrawler is not in the game.

ARCADE
Marvel vs Capcom I; II; III (has a few X-Men related characters to choose from)

IBM PC
* X-Men 2

GameBoy Advance
*X-Men: Reign of Apocalypse (Kurt's in the game but isn't playable w/o using a Gameshark)

GameGear: Kurt is supposebly in a few of the GG games but I never uncovered him... THough I was never good at these games

NES
*X-Men (Personal opinion, worst X game ever)

There are several games in your list that you did not mention as including Kurt.

That's because as I had stated, I had to get some sleep last night :p. I think I had stopped in the middle of the GameBoy Advance list. I just finished editing all the ones I could find into the list, then I noticed new replies. It seems gamefaqs is a little out of date.. I'll have to look at a few other sites.

All the ones I've marked are where I've found you can *play* as Nightcrawler. If I later find any more games where he's a hidden playable character or is in a cameo (like Xavier seems to be in Wolverine's Revenge), I'll add a new symbol for it and edit it in.

Is 'IBM PC X-Men 2' Wolverine's Revenge? Because I just can't find it listed anywhere. I'll look for the Capcom stuff later.

Ah... When I looked at the list and started making my reply the *'s werent' there you must have edited while I was typing, sorry about that..Image

I can anwser he isn't in any of the Arcade's Revenge or Wolverine's Revenge or X-Men: Ravages of the Apocalypse games...

Though in my previous post I did add a few X-Men games the original site you saw didn't have... Hope it helps....

Since no one else has posted yet... adding something also check out

http://www.bamfcentral.com/collect.asp? ... l_GrpID=18 it has a little more info on the Kurt related games and a few pics; a lot of the info was taken from a gamespy article that was put on the net years back, but has since been removed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, for I may be, However I do not believe that Legends is out yet, for any system. And when it does, I think it is coming out unilaterally.

That is, for all the leading systems at once. (ps2, gc, x-box, pc)

But again, my Game Informer subscription ran out, so I don't know, but the last thing I read about it said that it would be coming out in april of 04, but I read this in almost june, so It has either been severely pushed back or is right on schedule. I have only rarely heard of a game being early.

Someone might do well to confirm this, as I have homework to do, now.
Maybe you had too much too fast.

You are correct, Legends isn't out, but it will have Kurt which is why it is in the list.... And the game is listed under each of the platforms above.

He is suppose to be playable, but no screen shots have been seen of him in the game yet....

Image on a related topic, forgot about this, but there was a cellphone game created based on X2. IT roughly follows the X2 plot. Playable characters included Nightcrawler, Storm, and of course the ever present Wolverine....

For more on the game http://www.getitnow.vzwshop.com/getgame ... subCatId=2

IF this doens't resolve right. Browse games, look in the action sub group and go to the last page scroll down and you will see the x2 game.... I will eventually splurge and get this once it comes out for my phone type.

I'm looking forward to ledgends.

Does anybody else think X-men next dimension is goddamn impossible against the computor? I've completed it with Nighty and Toad but it took me ages. The sheilds the charaters can use are too damn effective so the computor often just smakes you once and then whips out for the entire battle so you can't get it back.
Oh well, I love the origional costume (locked to start with) and that he uses a sword.

And does anyone know how you can carry on from the story where you left off?

Zix, you can't. It stinks, but the games does have a few flaws.

As for Legends, it comes out in May 2004. And yes, Nightcrawler is playable. So are Rogue, Gambit, Colossus, Beast, Iceman, Quiksilver (only certain modes) and Mystique (only certain modes for her too). In fact, despite the fact that the advertising only shows Wolvie, Cyke, Storm and Phoenix, there should be 15 X-Men and a few of the Brotherhood (certain modes only).
Legends is an RPG in which you can assemble a team of four characters for a mission. You start in the Xavier Institute, where you roam the halls before assembling a team of X-Men. Unfortunately, you have a limited list to start out with - Storm, Jean Grey, Cyke, and Wolvie. You have to unlock the others as you go. :mad
Each character has two stat lists, one for mind, body, agility and strength. The other is for mutant powers. As you progress through the game, you can upgrade mutant attacks, stats and even unlock new attacks.
Here's the good news - Every X-Man can work with another X-Man to make a combo move! So Wolvie + Colossus and you get a Fastball Special! Jean and Cyke get the Crucifix Shot! There's supposed to be a combo for any possible pair of X-Men! I'm currently wondering what the Nighty/Gambit combo will be, or the Iceman/Rogue combo. *drool*
Too bad I have to wait for May...:bawl

X-Men Next Dimension is a fighting game like Mortal Combat. You can unlock costumes and stages and play a storyline, which is as hard as hard gets.
You can play -
Cyke
Wolvie
Storm
Forge
Sentinel A
Sentinel B
Bastion
Psylocke (cheapest specials in the game)
Betsy (what the difference is between Betsy and Psylocke is beyond me.)
Beast
Toad :love
Bishop
Sabretooth
Magneto
Mystique (lousy kicks and a gun that's heck to shoot with, but great specials)
Blob
Havok
Dark Phoenix
Phoenix
Pyro (X-Box only)
Lady Deathstrike (yeah baby! :love)
Rogue :rogue :smirk
Gambit :smirk
And of course, Nightcrawler! :love (try his seventh costume, I think it the X-Men/WildC.A.T.S crossover one! It rocks!)

This game rocks. It's for GameCube, PlayStation and X-Box. In GameCube you get vs. Mode and Team Mode. In X-Box you get Pyro! :pyro! Hahahahah...I don't have a X-Box...:cry

No Angel , though you do see his name...somewhere. And the Thing and Peter Parker too. Names only, but there.
I'm not sure if Angel is in Legends or not.

Thanks for the info on legends SheCat. Playable Nighty, Gambit and Quickie, I can't wait ::drools::

I hope it isn't as hard as Next Dimension. It's fun to play against you're friends but it's way too hard for your casual gamer such as myself to actually finish the damn thing. Which is a shame because I'd have quite liked to have know what the story was. Oh well.

I let my brother tackle the Sentinels on Next Dimension and the final Wolvie battle. I didn't have the patience to use Forge or Cyke.

I think Quickie is only available in Danger Room mode. My Story Mode team will be : :)(but we already knew that) :rogue (super southern belle, bwahahaha!) :gambit(no flaming duh.) and :colossus (hehehe).

Hopefully Legends Rogue gets a better voice than Next Dimension Rogue.
