Another Mystery of Kurt's Past...
I was just looking at some X-men Forever scans online, and i found this panel:
http://www.angelfire.com/rebellion/uchi ... erence.JPG
This is a scene from the past, as seen by Toad, who has been sent back in time to his former self by Prosh. (it's a long story) In it, Astra makes reference to Quicksilver & the Scarlet Witch, then Nightcrawler ("That blue demon in the German circus" can only mean him!) But, while the twins ultimately became part of the Brotherhood, and were approached by Mags, Kurt wasn't. Right? Or did he have some visit by Magneto that we don't know about? The questions! the questions!

I wouldn't read too much into it...Astra was just scouting for recruits for Mags...Xavier was doing the exact same thing. In Uncanny X-Men #300 there's a flashback where he and Moria are looking at a file full of photos of young mutants...including Kurt. Xavier felt the international citizenships of Kurt, Ororo and Piotr would make things too difficult so settled on the homegrown quintet. Mags may not have been able to track Kurt down to make him the offer he couldn't refuse...circus folk do tend to move around a bit.
Interesting that Kurt's the only one to make both lists.

It's cause he's so desirable...Originally posted by Nandireya

It does make a great "What if...?" story, though, doesn't it? What if Nightcrawler had joined the brotherhood?

Well, If "Children of the Atom" (which may or may not be) was in continuity, Angel would have been on both lists, too

It IS a "What If...?" story. Can't remember the number (either 60 or 98 ) but it's "What if the all-new all-different X-Men had never been formed?" He was with the Brotherhood, but I don't recall seeing Magneto or anything.Originally posted by scheherazadeIt's cause he's so desirable...Originally posted by Nandireya

Truth be told, I don't think Nighty would have joined Magneto anyway. Or, at the very least, stayed on until Mags did something villian-ish.
Sail away where no ball and chain
Can keep us from the roarin' waves
Together undivided, but forever we'll be free.
So sail away aboard our rig
The moon is full and so are we,
We're seven drunken pirates
We're the seven deadly sins.

Oh gee! and I was just about to pick that one up in my local comic store three days ago! (decided on the Excali issue with Anjulie & Kymri instead) I can't remember what number it was, but I remember it had a spread of the original five on the cover.Originally posted by The Drastic Spastic

I just really like to use that cover gallery site. Even though I can't understand a word on it, It's so useful.

If NightCrawler would have joined the BrotherHood, he would have spent all his time hitting on the Scarlett Witch and making Quicksilver mad. He wouldnt have lasted long, but he would have made the team fun!!!

But if Xavier never recruited Kurt, then he probably wouldn't be in America, he'd have been killed by the mob.

tee hee,
It would be fun watching Kurt and Quicksilver interact. Kurt would just have to make a hobby of tormenting his ego constantly. Logan would have fun w/that too, but would proabably get a little to overzelous with the claws.

Kurt and Quicksilver (whose name escapes me, is it Peitro?) would be hillarious! But Kurt is way to religious to be up for the killing people part. Which is, if I remember, why Wanda and her brother got out...
One thing, they would be relieved that someone has a worse father than they do!
Wanda... I have the worlds worst father, Magneto.
Kurt... Mines the devil.
Wanda... I know what you mean....
Kurt... No. Really. THE devil. He's my dad. Yeh.... gets a little depressing....
