I'm not sure what Roberto's inspiration for the storyline was, but I did look up old photos and drawings of the subway being constructed.

Random question...there weren't seventeen ghosts shown in the last panel(I only counted 14...including the less detailed ones); is there any plot significance? Of course,
I'm assuming that when the worker ghost said "seventeen" he's refering to the number of ghosts
.
Sail away where no ball and chain
Can keep us from the roarin' waves
Together undivided, but forever we'll be free.
So sail away aboard our rig
The moon is full and so are we,
We're seven drunken pirates
We're the seven deadly sins.

It was all I could fit in that particular shot. The exact number of ghosts in the shot wasn't important or specified.

Cool…nice to have a partner… :D

I wonder when #7 will be solicited...hopefully it doesn't tie in directly with the major happening of issues 260 and 261 or Uncanny...that's gonna be like June...I don't think I can wait that long!

Yes Nandy. It's already too long to wait for issue#6... I can't think about the wait for issue#7. :(
But if it's for the title to live longer, you know...

I hope the creative team will stick with their original concept -I'm sure they will. :)

When is #6 due out anyway? I'm not sure who to trust with the dates anymore unless it comes from Darick or anybody else on the team.

Moving slightly off track a bit but I like the fact that throughout the series Kurt seems less and less concerned about going out and being seen in his true 'non image-induced' form.
He's been a card carrying member of one of the Marvel Universes' premiere ( albiet sometimes feared and hated ;) ) superteams for years. I'd imagine he'd be bit of a celebrity by now...

I liked that too, but found it odd that no one found his appearance odd when he wa in public... if my memory serves me correctly, Seth was a little scared at first:o, but as my friend said, "Kurt looks ugly as a human, he should stay blue!":LOL:bamf Anyone have any thoughts of how issue 6 will end and how he'll help the ghosts?!:?

I'm guessing that some sort of artifact or location that should not have been disturbed was violated in some kind of way, causing the manifestations to occur. Kurt will have to find out what's causing this and find some way to appease the apparitions. Pretty much standard 'poltergiest'/ghost story fare I know, but that's the 1st thing that comes to mind.
Smart money though says it's probably not what we're expecting....;)

....just had a crazy idea...what if it's a MUTANT that's in some way responsible? I think that'd be a 1st in the X-universe.. a mutant with powers that effect ecto-plasmic entities.... !

Isn't that what Excalibur's Wicked does?

Welcome to your new stuck thread

Post by Saint Kurt »

So what I really wanted to do was divide up the incredibly long solo series thread up into shorter threads about the individual arcs. Then vet school midterms happened and it stopped being a priority. Sorry about that Darick. ;)

But it is Feb 23rd today and now Nightcrawler won't come out again until May which means that I will actually have to study for the next two months (or reread Nightcrawler 1-6). So I thought I'd celebrate by at least pulling out all the disscussion on the most recent arc.

Enjoy.
-e

(edit: June or May... I'm not sure. Darick said he thought May. Elsewhere I've seen June. I like Darick's answer better.)

I have what might be considered a stupid question about issue 5, but I seriously did not understand this...

Why the flashlight?

You know, I asked Roberto the same thing. He said it was because Kurt sees well in the dark, better than most, but not perfectly, and he didn't know what he'd encounter.

Not only does it help him see in the dark, but it can be used as an obect of self defeeeeeeeense! GET YOUR MARVEL FLASHLIGHT TODAY!!! :LOL*grumbles something about VIACOM and ruling the world*

Roberto's statement makes sense, though. If he could see perfectly in the dark, then wouldn't he need to wear sunglasses during the day? He obviously doesn't.

I really liked #5, and not just because of the eye-candy. It had quite abit of humor and depth to it, and was an overall great read. Roberto is doing a great job, as well as the rest of the team.

Keep on keepin' on!:bamf

I bought and read number six last night, and it is quite good. I think my favorite moment (at least off the top of my head) is
the expressions on his face during the ghost fight
. Usually when a superhero is fighting, they've got a very smug/confident/delighted look on their face. It just seemed very appropriate to the story and situation.

Yes, waiting until June will be hard, but at least with it comes good news. In the letters column, one of the readers asks if Darick will be on the title, "like, forever?" The answer is that they'll have to pull Darick off the title with a crowbar.

Curlyyhairgirl - Not necessarily. That would make sense if his eyes were super sensitive to light, and that would explain why he could see in the dark. However, since Kurt is a mutant, his eyes could work in some fashion that we don't understand.

If I sound weird, it's because I just came back from SciFi. This is a lot of what we talk about in class. :LOL

A very enjoyable issue.

The
ghost fight was artistically the best part of the issue, but I also liked it when every ghost showed Kurt the way to follow. Just creepy. Kurt's interaction with the Beast was a good idea. Tragic and funny at the same time.
And I was just too happy to see Brad and Roger back ! I love those snakes.
Oh, and what do you all think about poor Christine Palmer.
Man, how many hearts has Kurt broken ??
I agree with the forever Darick involvment. :D

And now the waiting has begun...
I hope you'll offer us some neat art previews, Mr Robertson.
Sketches, please ! I love sketches. :)
