Yeah, the X's indicate 'flat black' to the inker.

I have to say that it's nice to see Kurt in something other than his spandex for once. The hoodie is a great touch to his outfit. And thanks for posting the panel. I don't know who he's speaking to so earnestly, but it looks great!!!!!

It seems Kurt speaks to a dictaphone, like Agent Dale Cooper in Twin Peaks. Does he ??

Love the expression. Love the hair. Love the shape of his face. Are you seeing the trend here? Definitely will buy this just for the eye-candy, even if I don't like the stories...

Though I'm pretty optimistic about that too at this point.

I hope the inking does justice to your penciling, b/c he looks about as good as he can get in black and white!

Darick, I love your artwork. It is quite superior to many of the artists that have done the X-books recently (except for Davis and Sal)

I'm not sure I care for the premise of the solo book, but I might buy it just for the art. I sincerely hope the inker does the sketches justice.

And it is my sincerest hope that this isn't just rehashed Hellboy, with a slightly less Satan-tied protagonist. One of my buddies won't stop going on about how that's how it sounds.

What can I possibly add that hasn't already been said here?

For once, I'm at a loss for words. (Something anyone at this board will tell you is a rare occurance indeed.)

An ongoing Nightcrawler solo series is one of those things that I'd always secretly hoped to see, but felt was impossible due to the fuzzy one's more swashbuckling nature and lack of sheer, raw, "solo-worthy" power. But considering the way his character has been tugged this way and that, into the worlds of magic and so forth, it actually makes sense that he could go out and shadowrun (for lack of a better term) on his own.

And the artwork....

I can assure you all the script doesn't read as a rehash of anything.

Please don't be too cynical! No book is ever going to be 100% what each of you wants it to be. What in life or entertainment ever is?

What you'll be getting is a team of creators all very excited to be working together on this book. That's rare.

A few questions whose answers I assume won't lead to any significant spoilage

1 Will Kurt ever use a sword
2 Will he encounter his father again
3 Now that his daughter(though she isn't technically his daughter but merely an alternate Kurt's daughter) is in the 616 Marvel will she ever show up
4 Will it ever be resolved whether he loves,hates or is indifferant to his mother if it already has been could someone tell me the results
5 Is he doing a solo thing or working for somebody is it the government or some shadowy nameless entity or agency

I want him to practice fencing. I've discussed this with Roberto. I don't know that we'd have him use it in battle.

He's doing it as part of his obligation to the X-Men.

Right now Roberto is writing issue #2, and has the first arc and ideas for the second planned out, but that's it! These things don't get all lined up the way that some fans imagine...

And again, I'm just the artist, so I don't have an immediate access to Roberto's imagination until I'm reading the script or he's discussing ideas with me.
