Yeah, I thought Darick's was more clearly a joke... I didn't really like that blurb either but didn't find it overly offensive.

No fan needs to feel bad that they only bought one copy.

The truth is that many folks wait for the trades and then that sends a signal that the book isn't selling well or has no following.
I have no qualms with what you said, Darick...you didn't say anything that wasn't true. The book's been cancelled because it didn't sell enough for Marvel to consider it finacially viable, I just feel what they did with that little blurb was in poor taste...

I dunno, I thought the blurb was kind of funny.

I definitely understand about all the people who prefer to buy the trades. One of my best friends is a a trader.

I am guilty of this, I admit. I just wish they would take more notice of the trade trend that is taking place and wait and see how the TRADE does, maybe two of them, and see if the trades will justify continuing the series. it seems to work for Vertigo, and more and more people switch to trades all the time, because they come out so soon after the series sees print in single issues these days.

I'd even accept ads in the front or rear of the trade if that helped offset the cost.

I, too am guilty of waiting for the trades, but not for Nighty...bought every single issue...twice. I just get mini-series in trades...

I only buy TPBs when I've missed a cool series... or when I like it a lot.
For instance, I bought TPBS of Austen's X-Men and Darick's Nightcrawler, even though I already have every single issue.
But I admit such a habit is expensive.

Number 12 was just ... just wow. I was pretty floored by it. Definitely one of the more satisfying punches to the face I've seen in awhile. Also, last page was also satisfying.

I'll save more for later when I've got the time, but it was a good final issue. Now if only this storyline could evolve into the next AoA or HoM or Planet Hulk or whatever next year's thing will be.

Anyone else get the feeling that the last page was a nod to those who wanted the series to keep going?

Well Angelique, EVERYTHING about this wonderful final issue was a nod for us people who didn't want the series to end !

SPOILERS !

An excellent ending, because it wraps everything up... but lets you want for more... 'cause it seemed the fun had just begun.

Kurt's little chat with Mephistopheles ?... Just briliant ! I guess the High devil fears something Kurt could do during the coming "unholy war"... The idea of giving Nightcrawler this kind of all-powerful nemesis is beyond my wildest dreams for the character. Plus, seeing the elf using the Soulsword is excellent. I hope he'll do more of that in the future, wherever he may appear.
Finally, I think Roberto isn't finished with Kurt Wagner yet -read his words on the letters page for that.... and I sincerely hope Darick will be back too. His Mephisto is breathtaking !... And the final image... Oh, my ! :worship

With the Winding way, we saw Kurt develop into a mystical warrior, and I'm glad it happened.
I still don't realise the series of my dreams is over. Wake up time will be quite difficult.

But I have hope something will come up next, sooner or later. I have hope that one day, Darick and Roberto will return.

Please, all of you, write to Marvel an ink and paper letter, to show them how much we care.

Thanks.

Max.

I have to agree in that it seems Darick and Roberto put together the last issue with an implication that this story would, someday, continue.
SPOILERS:
I mean, Kurt has the soulsword and there is a war brewing which will, apparently, result in the end of days. This, to me, sounds like an unresolved plotline! Who knows, maybe Marvel will even get the hint and continue the story someday. But, knowing them, they'll center it all around Wolverine.
As for #12, I thought it was brilliant. Darick is so good at creating moods with his backgrounds, and those last few pages are a perfect example. Kurt and Christine were saying goodbye, and the backdrop was this darkening sky and dead leaves falling everywhere. It just seemed to make it more sad.
And Mephisto was just insane! INSANE. In a good way.
Well, here's hoping Marvel won't forget about our fuzzy elf. Lord knows he's been disappearing out of Uncanny more and more.
This is a haiku;
Now I'm killing syllables;
I like fuzzy elves.

With this kind of epic ending, you just want more !! ;)

What bothers me is that this comic book isn't reviewed anywhere and that a lot of readers still think there were only 6 issues for the series... :yell
There is never one copy left where I go. Ne-ver. But readers won't order a comic book they don't see. :

I had no problem with the ending. Rather poignant. The fact that it was an ending, on the other hand....

What wasn't good about it? I thought it a fitting end to the series....can you explain what about it you didn't like?

I don't understand your aeroplanes, or submersibles, or your crazy laws of cause and effect. I'm just a caveman!

But I do know that if someone slips and falls on a patch of ice outside a library, that library is legally responsible for the damages!

Well, in truth, I do have a perfectly legitimate gripe about the ending. It came far too soon!
