Nightcrawler film is approved!!!!

Postby Bamfing_Bob » Sun Apr 01, 2007 9:43 pm

As most of you know, we all have been hoping that they will
produce a Nightcrawler film, since Marvel is making a Wolverine
really soon and a Magneto film focusing on his backstory.
I am pleased to inform you that yesterday, Marvel had a
little meeting and decided that "Nightcrawler" will be the next to come.

For the the storyline, they are planning to do a story of his past; an
overview of his life from Mystique's cruel abandonment to life
of the circus and his murder of Stefan. It's will then
look at him now (which won't be like X2 thank goodness) as he is
sent on a mission back to Germany to undo an after-effect of it all.
!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so excited about it. There's only one problem: read every first letter of the above movie info. :whistle

Awe, that was just cruel! ;)

I saw this in May! You had me going, and now I feel all sad inside.

Good joke though. It would make sense to make a Nightcrawler films, since his back-story is interesting and everything. Well done to you, B-Bob.

lol i love how every n00b finds this and posts here. LOL I'm so glad Bob made this thread.

And Welcome Tober. Yeah, I agree, some people here think his past is too complicated and too easy to mess up, but if you ask me it's just right level of complication where all the correct characters thus far have been introduced and it might just work.

It might not do too great in the theaters however...

Hmm, I don't know about that. As far as I've seen, most people who are unfamiliar with the character really like the portrayal Alan Cumming delivered in X2. I know I did.

But I suppose you're right. I wish they were doing Nightcrawler instead of Wolverine, but I guess that the more popular wins out.

Still, it would be amazing. :)

Oh yeah, just so you know, CONGRATULATIONS! You happen to be the first to speak to me. Good job. :D

I'd prefer the original comic version over X2's version for a movie.

Agreed

Alan Cummings version was a little... off. He wasn't very acrobatic looking and he was covered in scar-tattoos that represent his sins. That's just silly.

Well, you really can't blame the actor for that. Of course, him being one of my favorite actors makes me a little bias, but the director, writer, and makeup people created him new for the film. I know that it's probably just me, but I think Cumming did well with what he had. He made the character beautiful and different.

But I do like the more flirty and prankster Nightcrawler better. It makes him more loveable.

Sorry, Drastic. I guess I wasn't too clear on that bit. What I meant was all the make-up and dialogue weren't really up to the actor. It was up to the writers and the make-up crew.

And wasn't Alan Cumming always super-scrawny? All the pictures I've seen of him he's really thin in. Or do you mean that he wasn't very buff or muscley?

Acrobats are supposed to be buff and muscley. Small as in short, but still very very fit. I thought Alan Cumming was an extremely poor choice for the part.

Anyone, basically. I'm not really into actors but I'm sure there are dozens of other unknowns (yes, Cumming was unknown) who could have done a better job.

Didn't Cumming do Spy Kids and GoldenEye and Cabaret before this? I don't know if he was an unknown, I knew about him. But I guess that those were sort of small movies. Maybe when compared to Johnny Depp and other a-listers, he is an unknown. Yeah, you're right.

I think maybe Paul Bettany would make an alright Nightcrawler. I can sort of see him covered in blue fur with a tail.

Wolverine and the X-Men's Nightcrawler is my favourite non-comic version of Nightcrawler...he's fun, insightful, and kicks serious arse!

A movie featuring that kind of Nightcrawler could be totally sweet :D
