Who Liked the Storm/Kurt Relationship?
You know, I didn't like the Kurt/Storm pairing in the movie... but I watched some of the cartoons today, and I was thinking how it wouldn't have bothered me in that medium. Storm just seemed so different in them. I guess I must subconsciously not like Halle's portrayal of Storm. Or maybe the scripters watered her down a little? I had the impression she was much angrier in the comics and TV show, but Maelstrom said Movie Storm was angrier, so now I'm totally confused.
Anyway. In the movie, I'm not so keen on it. Otherwise, and fanfiction, total thumbs up. At least for a little while.

but yeah, after we recovered from out near-death-by-choking incident, my and my friend thought about it for a while. we honestly werent expecting much more after he touched her face. but when he embraced her to teleport her into cerebro, we almost fell out of our chairs.
it's not that we didnt like all this. it's just that we really didnt expect nightcrawler and storm together, that's all.
when i saw it the 2nd time, however, i said "Aww" a few times.

Storm and Kurt
I liked the whole Ororo and Kurt idea because Kurt in the movie would be rather lonely as no-one ever really understood him or had a full-on converstion with him:(
Kurt: you know outside of the circus most people were afraid of me but I didnt hate them I pitied them, do you know why?

I think Kuroro is trés cute. I'm not all super shipper "They HAVE to be together!"...but I wouldn't be against it. When I first saw X2, I was very "Awwwww!" And really wanted it, but when I got into the comics, things changed a little, but yeah...It would be nice if Kurt just had someone:).

I'm sure modern Movie Magic can cope with a little smudged makeup with careful camera cuts. Let 'em go for it!

Hopefully better. I think Halle-Storm is sort of prim and dainty as a character, and if her and Kurt had a kissing scene, she would come off as sort of overwhelmed, like "Oh my god, he's kissing me, eep!" A newer, hopefully tougher Storm would make it much more right for the character of Storm herself - more in control, less, stunned-like.

I'm with the no-Stormies on this one. I thought it was much too much of a big sister/ little brother thing in the movie. I felt she was too patronizing to Kurt. It's too bad it wasn't set up for a Kitty/Kurt friendship to happen, but the 12 year old actress and nearly 40 year old Alan Cumming (as much as I luuuuuuuurve him) would be too creepy.
I hope they make use of the image inducer in X3 so we can see the beautiful man himself.

i'm all for a Kuroro relationship in X3. If they do have halle berry, she kinda needs to lighten up a bit. I didn't find her too convincing as a weather goddess. Alan was perfect. Mrs. Berry could use a little work.

Ummm...Katie Stuart was 17 when she played Shadowcat in X2.
No Storm for me. I've never liked the character in anything but Ultimate. She's just too much of a dramatic idealist to me. Maybe it's Claremont's angle, but Berry aint helping my opinion either. *Storm fans throw books at her* Ow! That was a dictionary you threw at me, you *gets pummeled by the Marvel Encyclopedia of X-Men* Ow!

Personally I just thought they were making Kurt a bit of a flirt....He really is in the comics (like they were hitting at that part of his personality just like they did his sense of humor at the end) so I didn't think it was like a whole relationship I thought he was just being cute. I don't know I got the impression he would have hit on any available female X-Woman. In till I looked at the reaction this subject got on the web I didn't think it was anything, just a part of Kurt's personality. I'm not a big fan of Kurt/Ororo in the comics but on screen if they pursued it more it wouldn't bother me. Hey more screen time for Kurt right?

I dunno... I guess I haven't really thought about Kurt going out with anyone... It kinda seems weird to me for some reason.

I'm not too keen on Kuroro as Berry's Storm sucked. But the movie going public loves a good romance, and if Nighty's involved in a romance then it means more screen time. In X2 she was the only one avaliable.
One of my friends want to see a Nighty/Mistique. I've tried explaining to her that she's his Mother but she still recons "they'd be really cute together." Sicko.

That's not sick: that's lazy! "They're both blue, so they just kinda fit together" is what's she's thinking. It's kind of the same way some people assume two (insert minority here) in a cast of (insert majority here) will automatically get together, just because they're the only two of that race.Originally posted by Zix

I'm pretty accepting of anyone's 'shipperdom. KuRoro, KuWanda, KurTty, whatever. Let your muse run wild, everyone! The only problems I have with any 'shipper fic is when the characters are:
1) Utterly and completely OOC. You just aren't going to get Kurt and Mystique in bed together, even if they weren't related, because their personalities are so radically different. (Sorry, everyone, but this is practically any slash out there. Unless it's someone like Northstar, you're going against stated orientation, and that's OOC.)
2) Too damn fast. I believe that long-term connections take time to mature. If you've got them proposing to each other and hopping in the sack in one week's time, that's not love: that's infatuation, and that's also transitory. In my experience, relationships like that burn themselves out prematurely, leaving the couple drifting apart to other people and pursuits in a month or two.
