OK. I'm on holidays, so I gathered all the informations I had got about Kurt's circus. It is called der Jahrmarkt"

Circus performers :

. Stefan Szardos, magic talents (Uncanny Annual#4). deceased.

. Jutta. a young and fanatic girl who controls fire. (Marvel Comics Presents#101). killed by Wolverine.

. Sabu, Kurt's trapeze master. (Uncanny Origins #7). killed by Margali.

. Haus, a giant. (Excalibur# Minus 1)

. Kirkegaard, siamese brothers. (Exc#-1)

. Feuer, firebreather (Exc #-1), revealed later as "Feuer Langhausen" (Uncanny#407)

. A tall, thin, unnamed woman (Exc#-1)

. A big man with a moustache. He announces the artists (in french, we would call him "Monsieur Loyal")

Someone may already have got this, but "der Jahrmarkt" means "the fair" in German. It's probably not the name of the circus.

Kirkegaard? Nice name. Means Grawe Yard in norwegean.

I think the name of the circus was Meredic (something like that)
Sorce: Movie, "My name is Kurt Wagner, but in the Meredic circus I was known as the incretheble Nightcrawler"

I noticed this too; he says (repeatedly, I might add...:LOL) that "...in the Munich Circus...", and yet the posters say "Gehlhaar". What's up with this?

When he says "Munich circus" he might not be stating the official name of the circus but simply describing it to people who wouldn't know it by name.

It's a circus, it's either in Munich or it originated there, so it's the Munich Circus.

Good theory, Garble!

Speaking of Gehlhaar, what does it mean? Can anyone look it up?

Ah, but the thing is, movie-verses, comic-verses, cartoon-verses, etc., are bound to be different with anything. It is fairly rare for different versions of things to be exactly the same in all the different versions.
"Jahrmarkt" is probably correct in the comic-verse, "Gelhaar" is correct in the movie-verse, ect.

So far, very little of Evo Kurt's life prior to joing the X-Men has been seen.

I've seen all the Evo. episodes, and not once has it mentioned Evo. Kurt being in the circus.

Back on topic: Isn't the new chick, Magik II, also in Exiles?

No, the Magik in Exhiles is an Illyana from an alternate universe.

She's a different person entirely from Amanda Sefton

Right before X2 came out, there was a comic released having to do with Nightcrawler's background in the movie. It dealt with his circus troupe and how he got into Stryker's control. It was significantly longer that a single-issue comic and cost over $10. There was a Wolverine prequel too, according to miss Nacht.

your prequel cost you over $10?? :o the cover price on mine is $3.50 American, $5.75 Canadian... sure you didn't get the trade that collected the NC prequel, Wolverine prequel and movie adaptation?

but it IS longer, it is 44 pages of story with 48 pages total including ads (50 counting the insides of the cover), vs the typical 22/23 story pages/32 pages with ads...

Magik WAS Illyana Rasputin, Colossus' little sister. that roll had her guarding over Limbo, a hell-like dimension... then Illyana died of the legacy virus, and Amanda through an odd set of circumstances ended up filling Illyana's former roll. hence the 'II' part, she is the second Magik. the Magik currently in Exiles is technically 'Magik III' for purpose of cataloguing characters, but in her dimension, she is still the first Magik.

Hehe, oops. I don't own it, I only glanced at a rack of the X-titles specials, I must be confusing the Nightcrawler prequel with the trade compilation. That's for setting me straight.

Actually, the extremely flexible woman who was shown in Excalibur minus 1 was also shown in X-men Unlimited issue 19. Her name is Gummi.

I paid $15, it had the Comic version of the movie, Wolverine prequel, and NC prequel. It had no adds in it and it was long.

Gehlhaar is a German surname.

There's a German composer named Rolf Gehlhaar who studied under Karlheinz Stockhausen in the 60s and still writes music today.
