My creative writing teacher wasn't at school today, so we didn't have to turn our papers in. Mine's not quite done. :shifty

Am I ready for another relationship? I don't know, but I'm seeing someone, and I'm excited, and that's good for everyone, as it causes random acts of benevolence like this. :)

The local symphony is playing Beethoven's third on Saturday, and I won free tickets!

The luck keeps improving. The concert is a "Red Dress" benefit for heart disease awareness, and a formal event. I get to talk the husband into dressing up!!! :love

Also, while dropping off some too-big clothes at the consignment shop, I found an appropriate red velvet evening dress with roses, rhinestones, and... a $14 pricetag.

I just read an article on CNN about hate groups in the states, and while I know we have them here too, I'm so bloody thankful that it's not at all like it is in the states.

I'm also really thankful that my family for the most part isn't judged. :)

I hope none of those people ever come to my church. They'd pass out because you can never tell who belongs to whom: we have blacks, anglos, asians, hispanics all jumbled up. My own grandkids inclued three that are whitey-white (coloring), two that are whitish, two that are clearly black/white and two that are latino/anglo. Now if I can just get a Filipino daughter-in-law or something I'll have it made.:D My godchildren are "mixed" too. But in my town we're all pretty "mixed." Not that there aren't bigots ... heck, I'm a bigot in a lot of ways.

You have no idea how proud I am that I live in a state that decided tolerance can only go so far, so we ran a hate group so far out, they didn't stop running until reaching the east coast. Then the state turned their former headquarters into a human rights center! :dance

Unfortunately, our work here is not completely done.

It's RAINING!!!

Rather than snowing and adding to the ridiculous amounts we still have considering that it's march already. Mind you it's also slicker than heck out there because it melted and then froze last night and now it's got rain water on it - but yay to see the first hopeful signs that we'll be able to see our grass before May.

I have at last reached the "small animal milestone" - I finished my last rotation in the cat/dog part of the hospital at 8am today. This moment has always marked the future "beginning of the end of vet school". Now it is here.

Best part about the equine medicine service so far? Baby horse nap time:

Baby horses are pretty damned cute and we have a lot of them. (Horses are seasonal breeders so all horses all over the world are born only a few weeks apart from each other.)

Crocuses!! I planted them about three years ago and until this year, they've had a few blooms that died within a day or two.

But THIS YEAR ... a couple DOZEN, so when Hubby trudges in from his hard, frustrating job, he can enter the house with a smile on his face because he's been counting the lovely, royal-purple beauties that greet him. (then, of course, 'tis *my* duty to keep the smile on his face as the dark beauty indoors...)

Praise God!

I love baby horses! They run around the fields kicking up their heels and playing and then they "crash" and take a power nap. Baby cows curl up, but the foals always stretch out and look like they're trying to get a suntan on some beach in Malibu.:)

Are you going to be a horse vet or stick to small animals?

(Is that a Clydesdale in that bottom photo???)
