My son made first Holy Communion. Most of the people we invited to celebrate with us came, including my mom. After Mass, we had a brief music jam, played a little Wii, then went out for my son's favorite, sushi. My otherwise gastronomically cautious husband ordered a panda roll. Also, my kids managed to work a guitar recital and a friend's birthday party into this weekend.

Thank heaven the weather was brilliant and finally spring-like!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Do we call you Dr. Saint Kurt now? Or... "Saint Kurt-- (*turns around like James Bond while holding a syringe*)-- D.V.M!"

Either way....I think this calls for the happy dancing monkey:monkey
...and some party music:party

That's not a syringe. That's my "magical wand of animal healing".

All vets get them when they graduate. Didn't you know?

:)

I did not know!
That's cool! I'm glad they give you a magic wand with which to use your magic healing powers!:)

(Oh...and yes, the monkey is probably drunk, but with the economy the way it is, it's hard to find a sober monkey to dance for people. Now that you have magic vet powers, maybe you can help the monkey get the monkey off the monkey's back.....
.....and then you can help this guy:banana!)

Woo! How on earth do you hula hoop with a wii?

You pay attention to the screen and circle your hips like mad (you stand on a thing and it tells by pressure shifting what your hips are doing). It's a surprisingly intense time.

I gotta ask...

Why not just get an actual hula hoop?

(I can't figure out why people who love Guitar Hero don't just learn guitar either...)

Or why people who like Zelda don't just buy a sword. Or why people who like Sonic don't just adopt a hedgehog. Or....am I helping you here, Saint? :LOL

Actually, I agree with you. I have three hula hoops and don't use any of them. It's a lot cheaper not to use three hula hoops than to not use a Wii.

Well...mainly because I'm unmotivated as hell and the wii does several things.

- makes it fun (silly mii noises, happy music)
- has several activities (yoga, hula hooping, skiing, tightrope walking, soccer etc)
- keeps track of your weight and bmi
- tracks your activities and your resulting successes
- helps you set goals
- you can compete with yourself and others to do better

So here's hoping that regular and consistant (even if it's silly assed) activity can be maintained. It's also a plus for me because I don't have to leave home and I can adjust the activities to whatever pain level I'm in that day. I've heard a lot of people that have chronic pain have a lot of success with the dang thing, so here's hoping.

My boyfriend is getting surgery on the 4th. However, he's paying for me to fly up and be with him for two days before, and two days after said surgery...we weren't supposed to see each other until August 1st! I'm scared but so happy that I'll be able to see him.

My move appears to be proceeding on schedule.

And my big kitty tattoo is finished and it looks cool. BIG KITTEH!

I've been a doctor for a week and a half now and it's been pretty good so far. It's a lot like not being a doctor was actually. Though I expect that will change when I actually start working.

Dropped off my mom at the airport, she'll be gone for a month, my dad will visit me next week for three days, but other than that, sweet, sweet silence. :content
