though, to be frank, so many people react with 'is he bald?' (no, he's not BALD! grrr....) or 'he's so weird looking!' that i dunno how well he'll do.

I think they're all cute.

Though if you click the "losingest kittens" link you see that when it comes to the rex breeds, cuteness appears to be in the eye of the owner.

It seems that in a battle for cuteness, people go for fuzzy things with flat faces.

But, Marley could change all that and turn the tide in the rex's favor!

ah yes, i saw a Rex was the losingest, but it was a Cornish Rex, they have very long oriental type faces which not many consider 'cute'

and yeah. people will accept dogs in every size and shape but can't quite bring themselves to accept differences in cats. it's a a bit odd.

but yes, Marley may turn the tide!

My kitten is four months old, his name is Seamus, and he is a rumpy manx with two itty bitty vertebrae for a tail! Black with a soft grey undercoat and a white spot on his belly where his umbilical cord used to be! Gotta' find a pic too!

Last night, my aunts, uncles and cousins met Marley, and one aunt kept trying to cat-nap him

(jokingly, of course) they all seemed to think he was a great kitty. i also have one uncle who is fairly allergic to cats, but even he played with Marley,a nd did not seem bothered by his presence at all. score one for having very short fur which sheds extremely little.

I think Bamfette's been doing some serious battling. The winningest kittens have gone (inexplicably) from fuzzy flat faced cats to various short haired orientals.
