For the past 6 months, I've been growing a goatee. Constantly growing, no trimming or anything.

Needless to say, it's gotten long. It began as a friendly wager between myself and my friend Lucas. He was convinced that he could beat me in a "beard off".

The stakes were set (bragging rights only) and the rules were outlined: We'd have 6 months, October 1 to April 1, to grow the longest beard. On April 1, they would be measured and the winner would be announced.

I won. By an inch and a half. It's now over 4 inches long...see for yourself:
And now, the Great Winter Beard Off is over...and I'm getting this half-a-dead-muskrat the hell off my face. (And getting a haircut for the first time since the beard off began. )

I was going to say C keep growing it and in another 70 years I can come to you atop a high mountain in Colorado and ask you what the meaning of life is.

But, yeah you are overdue for a haircut....a bit longer and you'll look like Edgar Winters...no on wants that

I'd keep it long. if I were a guy I would totally try to grow a wizard beard.

OK - so where is the de-pelted version? Do you feel 10 pounds lighter? Enjoying the fact that you no longer have "snacks" waiting to discover 1/2 hour after a meal? At least you should have avoided the lovely reverse tan look of a beard grown during the summer .

Seriously, speaking of nasty displays of hair growth, I knew a guy in high school who could braid the hair on his legs. Lots of little cornrows running down his legs like tights. His girlfriend braided it for him. I had to sit next to him in history and couldn’t stop staring….
