Dumb baby names

I'm afraid, however, that I can't really judge the names people choose for their kids. I may have picked a timeless, classic, easily spelled and pronounced name for my daughter's first name, but I went crazy on the middle name and gave her something Gaelic, too. Even she has trouble spelling it!

Frankly names like that is actually common here in South Africe. Sunshine, Wishes, Gift, heck I once knew a Geeft and a Prayr, yes, misspellings, but hey, it was probably not their parent's first language either. It's like giving your child an exotic name that you heard, and know the meaning of, yet forgot how to spell it.

Names are just that, names. A sound that is used to get an individual's attention. Names like these are thus derived from words of language, and so you don't need to actually spell it correctly because you know from which word it came from and what that word means.

Ha! I knew a kid in high school named Terence Stamp....the same name as the actor who plaed Zod.

i knew a kid named Pumuckel.
it´s an old german series for children about a little pixie.
The name is cute, but imagine the kid turns over 30.... strange xD

I think an honorary mention should go to another of my mum's students, a girl by the name of Channel. Apparently she was meant to be a Chanel but her parent's were to lazy/stupid to double check the name ><

My mother took a great, fiendish delight in pronouncing the girl's name as it was spelt, and people wonder where I get my sadistic streak from?
