Yeah, the T-shirts are illegal... but that just makes them that much more prized among the European Neo-Nazis. Racist gunk you could buy for $10 over here runs at least 30EU over there, due to its illicit nature.

It's a good thing Kurt doesn't know what that little twisted cross means yet.... :shifty

Do you intend to keep Kurt as someone under 10, or will he slowly age like the For Better or Worse kids? :)
Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into the intake of a jet engine..... :evil

I honestly did not know that the swastika was illegal there (good!). I was going to put in a nazi eagle but ran out of time to research. I'll edit the drawings when I have time.
Right now Kurt is about 8 years old, Amanda 9 and Stephan 10. I'm assuming Margali already had her children by the time Kurt was born.
So far I have enough ideas to keep Kurt the way he is until the end of the year.
Let's see which one of us lasts the longest after that!

I only just saw these. I know I'm repeating everyone else, but they are really great.

You have such a natural cartooning style and sense of humor. Keep up the good work!

She did indeed...

In X-Men Unlimited #19 Margali (in Amanda's body) says to Kurt: "This is no laughing matter, child." He replies: "'Child'...? Amanda...you may be a couple of years older than I...but..."

Sweet comics by the way ;)

Thanks for the info Nandireya. I tell you what, this forum is bad for the pocketbook; each time a reference like that comes up I have to go buy the issue.
"Couple of years" huh? Let's make it a year-and-a-half. Kurt was obviously rounding off, yeah, that's it. That way I'm still in the ballpark.
Oh, and I just made it to "bilge rat"! Woohoo! No, wait..."bilge rat"?!

Lil' Kurt number 6 is up!
This is the second part of...em...that story there. I just realized I haven't a name for it.
Sincere apologies for the tardiness, especially to all the nice people who clicked on the site yesterday. I'll have some kind of bonus artwork ready in case this happens again (shouldn't!) . Sorry, sorry, sorry. Saturday just turned into 'everybody wants a piece of Shadowscrawl' day.
I'm almost ready for an archive page too...

Oh my gosh! Kurt is so cute. I love this Shadowscrawl, it's nice to read a new comic every weekend, and it's funny, cute and enjoyable vs. the stuff you read in the news papers that you have no idea what it was saying of if it's supposed to be funny or not.

Yeah, that's my little 'morality play' comic.
I learned a lot with that one.
One of the things I learned is that you never know when you will need to find a good name for an elephant. ;)

Thanks Rowena. That took two days to come up with! I mean, there's 'Jumbo' and 'Dumbo" and...then what? 'Rambo'?
Anyway, Lil' Kurt number 7 is up!
A little different today...Will it make a difference?

You're welcome! :D

Oh, gosh, I had a feeling that bozo wouldn't just slink away. *crosses fingers* Hope he gets away safe!!! These cartoons are so professional! I can't wait to read the next one! :D Though I am wondering what kind of place The Blue Knight is and why Kurt was there.....

The sad true story behind “Der Blaue Ritter” sign:
I wanted to make a reference joke and have it say ‘The Blue Rider’ in honour of the German art association from last century; but when I used Babel Fish to translate it all it came up with was “Der Blaue Mitfahrer“(?). Blaue Ritter” (Blue Knight) looked better…and of course AFTER I published the strip I found that the correct translation was “Blaue Reiter”.
Sigh…But “blue knight’ would suit Kurt beautifully and I am filing it for future reference.
Otherwise…there’s no reason he’s on that particular sign. I just wanted to start the strip in the middle of a chase, and wanted Kurt perched on something so that I could finally get to draw a Nightcrawler pose.

I especially loved the goldfish one. That one just made me laugh, and that's hard for a cartoon to do these days. ;) I always appreciate good artwork and especially good cartoons because I can't draw a straight line... :smirk

Hahaha, I like it. And it's an interesting beginning to a look at Kurt's faith. I'll be interested to see how that'll be covered in a comic.

What a relief!
I'm going a bit more involved here, so I am very grateful that the first response is a positive one.
This is number four of...I'll have a name sometimes soon...and it's going to go past six strips after all. I'll just have to watch myself and remember to keep it light .

Oh, interesting! So is this Kurt's first encounter with a Catholic church, then? The priest's reaction was great! Looking forward to the next installment! :D

I LOVE these comic strips!!!! I always look forward to the weekend now so I can check up on little Kurt's misadventures. The art is so detailed! I feel like I'm reading these off of the comics page in the Sunday newspaper. Please keep it up. Lil' Kurt rules! :D

I love those comic strips. *___* So cute, aaaah...
Just one slight remark: Education in Germany is free up to the 12. grade (unitl recently it was one year more, but they thought the German graduates to be to old once they enter University) and there is no exact equivalent to college. University was also almost free but that is about to change soon. Nonetheless, paying for the costly life of a student is a significant burden for a lot of families.
So instead of saying: "then I'll have enough money for college" it should rather be "then I'll have enough money for university".
Okay, it doesn't matter. Sorry.
And now there's life/ And a chance to make up for all those mistakes/ But please don't get me wrong/ Cos everything was honest/ True and from the heart/ There's still the same old hang ups so don't fret/ It's not safe yet/ And who knows there's always time to screw up again
