October Public Forum Debate Topic

Post by Kered »

So, being in Debate, I get these resolutions, or topics, every month that we have to write big fat speeches for and then argue with other people about. So I thought, "Why not post them here, and see what everyone thinks?" So every month, I'll post the current topic, and you can put in your input on what you believe is correct. Just one major rule, there is not going half way! You either agree, or you disagree, you can't think that everone can all get along. That's too optimistic for debate. So, here's the October resolution.

Resolved: Private sector investment in human space exploration is preferrable to public sector investment.

For the purpose of clarification, I would like to define a few key terms:

Black’s Law Dictionary defines the private sector as the part of the economy or an industry that is free from direct governmental control.

Black’s Law Dictionary defines the public sector as the part of the economy or an industry that is controlled by the government.

I define human space exploration as the presence of humans in space.

So, are you affirming or negating? What is your opinion on this topic? Tell us!
