Marrina grew up near the ocean, her father a fisherman and her mother a marine biologist. She always loved swimming and quickly formed a lot of friends as she was the star of her school swim team and dive team. The water just seemed to bend to her will and jet her forward. No one could catch her.

When her powers finally manifested her life crumbled down around her. None of her friends supported her. She was called a freak and all of her awards were taken away from he when they declared that she cheated using her powers. She tried to make the best of it and finish her way through school, but she never was excepted by anyone and eventually graduated early by taking night classes.

Her Family decided to move to Canada to try and start a new life. Within a few days of being there Marrina was kidnapped. Her parents went to the Police but nothing was going well with it. After a few weeks her parents had put up websites and bought billboard space to try and get help from the community.
