A monument and archive dedicated to Dave and Paty Cockrum. Nightscrawlers was their home on the internet and always will be. This forum preserves that legacy.

New X-Men piece in the Gallery...

Post by Dark Bamf »

Hey, if you've got a minute, take a look at my new post in the Art Gallery! It's a brand new cover I just did for an X-Men issue of Alter Ego magazine. I'm not sure when it'll come out, but sometime in the next two or three months, I guess. :D

It's at:

Who's Frank Quitely?

Anyway, both Paty and I have posted more new stuff in the gallery, so you might want to go back for another look.

He's one of the artists on New X-Men- the one who created the leather jacket costumes. He has a tendancy to draw all of his characters with a "puckered-up" look.

I love it Dave! Bet you knew that was coming. ;) Hey, are there any plans to release a Dave Cockrum Sketchbook? I know that companies like SQP do this kind of thing (thinking of Larry Elmore's Reflections of Myth sketchbooks that they published) and you seem to have lots of material...

:bamf: Off to see the rest of Dave and Paty's new stuff!

My friend Cliff Meth, who runs Aardwolf Publications, is putting out a 60 page Dave Cockrum Sketchbook, due out--I think--in February. I'll announce it on the forum.

YAY! Movement as regards publication! YAY!

Also glad you came by Ethan's forum.

How wonderful to see Storm looking right again. Going to leave the background to future colorists? (A starfild like the Millenium Falcon going into hyperspace would be cool.)

Here's a free idea (as I know squat about the topic, but you do, so you develop it). Thinking that military is going to be a big theme in near future - what if a squad got put together and exposed to something that kicked off a genetic change of some sort. Each of the squad slowly starts developing either abilities, disorders - or both. At first they keep these changes from each other, then collude to keep their secret and keep the squad together and in action. Give you lots of opportunities to draw all the cool military aircraft and weapons and such. (I love your spacecraft and futuristic design sense.)

Maybe they could come up against the Octopod Family. Or the mutated NightScrawlers. Or the evil super-villain known only as "Joke".

I've put more new stuff in the gallery! Ok, it's not X-Men stuff, but I've posted my Hawklord story.

image.php?iid=1112

It was done for my son's CD magazine, but there was never a second issue. Someday, I'll continue with it.

Also, there's new stuff in the 'silly stuff' folder! Here's one--

Have fun!
