Wolverine and the X-Men

Post by Freak »

So, I think I should make some general statements, now that the show is about 10 episodes in (at least in Canada):

It's extremely good.

We all had our doubts about this, what with yet another Wolverine franchise, and while it still irks that he's the leader of the X-Men now, one has to say he is, as I've already stated elsewhere, a refreshingly rare sight.

Yes, he does appear in each episode, what with the show being named after him, but he doesn't hog all the action and the cool parts. Actually, he gets his show stolen quite often, other characters seem far more fleshed out (now, this is on the advent of a first Weapon X specific episode which will probably provide a quantum leap in character development).

All in all I can only tell people to watch this show, it's certainly worth it, especially because of the mutants. Half of the fun is picking out all those different mutants and recognizing them, barely anyone isn't comic-canon. (Maybe no one at all, I don't know all the obscure mutants ever created)

What do you people think? What's good, what's bad, why are you still hesitant to watch this show even if it comes out around your place? Of those who are watching it: what's been your favorite scene so far? Discuss! :D

PS: Favorite scene would be Nightcrawler's sword fight versus Spiral. Extremely well done and I nearly squealed with glee when they finally let him use swords again. Plus: Kurt and Wanda make a cute couple :wan-kurt
:freak :andreas They're fighting!

I'm assuming you mean the show's over powered portrayal of Toad.

Haha. I just went to Nicktoons Network's website and went to Wolverine and the X-men's page. They have bios of everyone in the show, even if if they are barely in it.

It's incredibly annoying, but I was curious to see who everyone actually was. Not to metion that the site is actually geared toward seven year olds, so it's really no surprise. My cousin is that age sometimes it shocks me what she finds amusing that usually makes me cringe.

The site's so incredibly child-oriented that it's funny! Did anyone else here take that stupid test they have on the main page?

Mine changes every time I take it, because I change my answers every time I take it. I want Kurt as a mentor, but I guess he isn't available.

Aw, he's probably just knocked unconscious ... or in a coma ... or trapped in another dimension ... or knocked unconscious again ...

Yeah, I found two episodes but don't know which ones he's in anymore, nor where to find them (hint, hint). Last I saw, tho, he was knocked out and on his way to Genosha or somewhere ... it was after he ported from Genosha to the X-mansion (yeah, right, sorry that sounded implausible, even in fantasy world). But I did like his portrayal. Clever and sweet.

Heehee, silly Nightcrawler, that's not in your skill set!
It puts me in mind of when he teleported into a hurricane, teleported down to safety a bit at a time, then swam for an hour in said hurricane back to land. HAX. :)

Still, his portrayal is FAR more in line with his comic book personality than any of the other animated incarnations. I'm totally enjoying the series now that I'm well into it. (Around episode 13 or so)

I've got more to watch tonight. With any luck I can direct some people to some episodes.

You can legally watch them all, at least the ones which have aired in the U.S., here:

http://nicktoonsnetwork.nick.com/shows/ ... deo=133832

Kurt is in episodes 1, 6, 10 and 15. He is in some later episodes as well, but not majorly.
