Another Original Artwork Question

Post by Sherlock »

Hi Mr. Cockrum,
I am newly registered to the site but have been keeping up to date on it for awhile now. I was very glad to hear that you are doing better as well as to the settlement with Marvel.

I've been a fan of yours for years and have been curious to know if you do any sketches or commisions? I've been lucky to get a few of my favorite artist's like Neal Adams, Sheldon Moldoff and Dick Ayres to do quick pieces for me of Sherlock Holmes and was curious to know if you do things like this and if yes, what the cost is.

Thanks in advance for any response.

I'm not currently taking any commissions. I've got a backlog of commissions from before my health went to hell, and thanks to problems with me left eye, drawing has become difficult if bnot impossible.

Thanks very much for the reply Mr. Cockrum. I'd love to know when you have caught up or may take more commisions. As I said, I'd love to get one (if possible) of your version of Holmes. It would be a great addition to my collection. If I could be added to the list or if you could let me know when might be best to try again that would be great.

Thanks again,
Neil

Yes, I am sorry as well to hear about the difficultiesl Mr. Cockrum - I apologize as I meant to mention that in my original reply.

Hopefully as time goes by everything will improve and you'll be able to get back to drawing more as there are tons of fans who would love to see new work from you.

My eye surgeon is supposed to schedule surgery in the next two or three weeks. Surgery consisrs of going in to my eye with syringes and siphoning out the vitreous fluid, which is contaminated with stale blood residue. They'll then replace it with something--don't ask me what--and presumably I'll be able to see with my left eye again. They tell me I'll be sufficiently doped up that I won't care that they're putting needles in my eye, but I find that hard to believe. :LOL

That does sounds like a lot of fun - not! But if the outcome is that you'll regain full use of your eye it will certainly be worth it.

It is actually not as bad as it sounds as my mother did have a similar procedure a few years ago which has improved her eyesight greatly with very little discomfort.

I hope your goes the same and you are up and around in no time.
