Well, last night the hospital pumped two liters of fluid out of The Italian Boyfriend's lungs and this morning they got the lab results - cancer. He's not expected to last the weekend and my mom is a wreck. She just left with his brother to go see him at the hospital.

He died Sunday morning. The funeral's Friday. And surprisingly, IBF's son, who had been a complete douchebag to my mother for months when she tried to tell him his father was sick and getting worse, apologized. He and his wife said they didn't realize he really was in such bad shape. They're even including my mother in his obituary.

But here's the other ass kicker - when my mother called her aunt to tell her, Auntie Dollie (she's 88 and has totally gone by Dollie her whole life because she hates her real name) was having a stroke while on the phone. My mom had to call 911 and go through umpteen transfers to get an ambulance to Dollie, who lives three counties away on the other side of the city. So we spent the afternoon and evening at the emergency room. She recognized us, but didn't really know where she was and couldn't remember her birthday or the president. My mother is her next of kin and she's really the only family we have left on my mother's side... so yeah.

Minor ass is that the funeral is the exact same time as Kiley's next doctor's appointment, so gonna have to reschedule that >< plus baby has been having the worst gas/colic/something for the last few days and OMFG am I exhausted...

Speaking of insomnia... I've developed it. For the past two weeks, I haven't been able to sleep for more than 45 minutes to three hours, if that. So, this morning... last night... whatever... I guess my body decided it was tired of not sleeping, and I crashed. I slept for, like, 12 hours. It was awesome, except for the fact I missed class and an appointment with my academic adviser.

I wake up to four missed calls. Three from the academic advising office, and one from my mom.

For some reason, I thought it'd be a good idea to call my mother first. Yeah, well, not so much. I was yelled at for almost an hour before she hung up on me. She didn't really appreciate it when I told her that nothing I said ever mattered when she asked what I had to say for myself. About five minutes later, she calls me back. I get yelled at for another half an hour before she says that she doesn't want to talk anymore. I said I didn't either and hung up. In the half an hour of yelling, she tried to guilt trip me by using my brother and my boyfriend against me.

In the first hour of yelling, I tried to explain to her that I've developed insomnia, but apparently that doesn't matter. So, it was nice to know that for the last two weeks not sleeping for more than three hours at a time doesn't matter. Then, we moved on to the money, and she threatened (I say threatened because in the second call, she took it back) to cut me off. And, of course, we moved on to how I was going to have to get the fuck out of the house. In the second call, it was more her asking why I was doing this to her and getting irritated because I wasn't talking. Oh, and the guilt tripping, which generally doesn't work very well on me.

After I dealt with her, I had to call my adviser, who I'm getting incredibly tired of dealing with. She seems to think I'm incredibly depressed and on the verge of suicide. She's even suggested therapy a few times, which is where I've drawn the line because I'm not actually depressed and know it.

Anyway, the advising office often flips shit whenever I do anything because I'm on academic probation (failed all my classes but one last semester/had my scholarship pulled).

Since I missed class and the appointment today, she sent a staff member that lives in the dorms to check on me (they checked right after I got off the phone with her and were cool). Adviser had warned me about it, so I was expecting it. I apologized about five times for missing the appointment and told her about the insomnia, and she recommended seeing a doctor for medication, which isn't likely to happen since I have no money. She also wanted to make sure I was staying the whole semester, and I told her I planned on it. She decided to make a comment about how things don't always go as planned and continued to try to convince me out of it while telling me she'd be around to help me with anything throughout the semester. When she asked me why I wanted to stay, I told her I liked having a place to live at home.

We set up an appointment for Friday to see if I still feel that way.

After that call, I had to call my boyfriend to tell him that it's likely that I'll need somewhere to live after this semester because I'm tired of taking shit from my mother and chances are I may end up kicked out of my house.

So, sorry for the double post, but... Woo. There's more.

After not sleeping again last night, I get a call from boyfriend, which was nice. So, I was having a fairly decent morning besides being irritated about not sleeping. My mom called to see if I was awake. I was.

Then, my adviser calls, and after I talk to her... She turned around and called my mother (guess signing that release form was a mistake), who calls me. To yell. Again.

Except this time I kinda yelled back, and she hung up on me. Then, she proceeded to call my boyfriend and when he didn't answer, she called me back. To yell some more. She basically called me a liar the whole time and told me I was cause of all the things that go wrong in her life.

So, now I have to consider quitting school tomorrow or dealing with this all semester.

One asstastic day after another. Not as asstastic as tears but jesus I can't catch a break. First mom bitches me out about the words she put in my mouth(Yesterday) then I have to spend like 20$ to fix my car and be late to work, what's next?

Okay, we tried to go out tonight for a friend's birthday. My parents were going to babysit. We actually made it through dinner and the plan was for the group to go back to the friend's house for a wild night of dessert, drinks and Scene It. Like good parents we call home to see how the baby's doing and she's fine. However, my dad thought he was having a surprise allergic reaction to the Chinese takeout they'd had for dinner. He'd never had food allergies before, so he was just going to wait a bit and see if he felt better. I told him to call or have my mother call if he got worse or if they wanted us to come home. Less than 15 minutes later we get a call from my mother saying he was worse, had called his insurance 'ask-a-nurse' line and they'd told him to call 911. Greeeeat.

So we wound up back at the hospital. His eyes were swollen almost shut but the bad part was his airways were swelling shut too so he got lots of fun drugs including one of those nasty ephedrine shots and several hours of observation. Seems he's now allergic to either shrimp or cashews. Surprise!

Oh, and the great aunt? She also had to go back to the hospital tonight so my mom was trying to track down where she'd been taken at about 10 p.m. too.

OH, and IBF's funeral yesterday? Scariest, most disorganized thing ever. The funeral procession escorts almost got us into several wrecks by being crazy as hell and not blocking traffic properly, plus driving like 60 mph in downtown KC on the wrong side of the street.

Gah. Found out on Monday that I've lost 40dB of hearing. Being fitted for hearing aids in March in the hopes of that fixing the pain.

Oh, the insane amount of pain I've been in? Can't find a reason for it. Blargh.

Yesterday, the alarm didn't go off. Well, it did. On vibrate. So, it was useless. Luckily, I got up at 2:30 pm and woke Matt up. We got all our crap together and left for Chicago, realizing that we'd get into downtown around rush hour.

We finally made it into the city, to school, and I went in to get my stuff. They sent me to the 4th floor and told me my pillow, bedding, lamp, and fan were the only things of mine they had. A few protests and phone calls later, they took me up to the 16th floor to get the rest of my stuff.

Our main concern was fitting everything in the car, and we did... by breaking a shelf and the trunk of the car.

Oh, and my mom got my brother to message me on facebook. Apparently, the longer I don't talk to her, the worse everything is...

I wake up this morning, look around, can't tell what time it is because it's always dark in Matt's house, go to check my phone... New voicemail.

I automatically have a sinking feeling because nobody calls and leaves me voicemails for anything, let alone things that are good. Usually it's the school being annoying or the hospital about paying my bill from when I broke my finger last semester. Or, for all I know, my mother gave in and finally decided to yell.

It was none of those.

The voicemail was my cousin telling me she's in the hospital in labor when she's definitely not supposed to be while I'm stuck with no ride.

Today has been the worst day I've had for a long time. And the one person I've got every right to be angry at for this, I'm not letting myself be angry at, becayse somehow I have to fix this.

also, this is making it impossible to sleep. Drunk-crying is messy.
