wow, he got listed in the roll-call and everything! :o right above... KITTY!!!! :D (hey , we get to see Kurt every month, we haven't seen her on a regular basis in quite some time)

i was hoping for some explanation for Kitty being back, tho. but there she is first page. but atleast Kurt is having a good time, drinking with Logan :)

what the HELL is Gambit wearing?? that looks ridiculous on him!

i am absolutley gaging at Jeans dialogue, tho... i mean geez, who talks like that?

And Kitty is all grown up. *sobs* Kids grow up so fast these days. I like Nightcrawler's hair, though. But he looks like a teenager with that new doo1 But still, cute.

I think you're right about Jean Grey's diaologue. I better buy this issue before I freak.

The dialogue felt stilted and forced. The appearances seemed little more than filler so far. And, well, it just didn't hook me.

Personally, I'll pass...

oboy... another issue to add to my list of things to find... All I ask for is one decent comic book store in town that gets things on time!! I have to go all the way to little rock to find one of those... hmm... doesn't amazon.com do subscriptions? ooh! I gotta go look!!

--edit--
nope they don't have em... darn... I guess I'll look elsewhere...

I think the dialogue would have looked a lot better if they would have hired a proper letterer. The most overlooked of all the creators of a comic, but oh so important...
Of course, it's always nice to see a bit of random kurtage, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna buy this.
And somebody call the fashion police for Gambit please! That torn shirt is sooooo Captain Kirk!

Jean sounded like she did in the 70's... I wantd to see how Kitty reacted to Wolverine, though, at the end...

i dunno if i'm gonna get this. every time i g et X-Treme i come away dissapointed. and the dialogue seems worse than usual this time...
and Larroca is dressing everyone like porn stars this issue... someone tell me if it was actually good, i guess...

anyway here's a preview with an additional page.
http://www.popcultureshock.com/reviews.php?id=1535

just me or is the art lookin very rushed this issue? look at the proportions on the people... they look totally off. and peoples positons at the table are not even consistent from panel to panel

i am seriously hoping it is all a little fantasy in Jeannie's head... but if it is then the dialogue between Bishop and Heather and to a lesser degree Logan, Kurt and Kitty makes no sense...

Soooo...is Kurt gonna be a permanent part of the X-treme team too? I haven't heard anything along those lines, but......he IS in the roster...hmmmmm....or maybe he is going to be making regular appearances.

yeah he's on the roster, so it's weird. i better not have to buy X-Treme monthly! but i don't think it will be so. i can't picture Morrison giving up partial writing rights to Jean, Wolverine AND Beast, and all 3 of them are on the roster as well.

I think it's just temporary, guest appearances, due to the movie...right?

i don't think it's the movie.... too early. it doesn't come out till May. and if it were the movie, why Beast? he's not in the movie. it should be Iceman in Beast's place if it was movie related.

the art is really starting to bug me. not the style, not the outfits, but can't they stay in the same seats for 2 panels straight??? can the table atleast have the same number of seats for 2 panels straight? :rolleyes: sloppy... I mean Storm in a wheelchair for goodness sake and she's juming from one end of the table to the other, to somewhere in the middle... Wolerine and Kurt just come and go...

i mean... panel 1....

:storm:
:::...........:logan:
:::...........:D
:::...........:bishop:
:::...........:sage:
:tb3:...........:rogue:
:kitty:...........:gambit:
:lifeguard:
:jean: :beast:

has Jean approaching from what we shall call the South. the south is where Jean is coming from here on in.

south end is sitting Heather. north end is Storm. East side from north to south is Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Bishop, Sage, Rogue Gambit. west side is Thunderbird and Shadowcat.

panel 2

North end can't be seen but the South end is Jean, Shadowcat, Rogue Gambit (switched sides of the table) and... STORM??
:gambit:....................
:rogue::kitty::jean::storm:

:bishop:
:sage:

panel 3 Rogue and Gambit back at thier original spots but now with Beast sitting beside Rogue, and we are looking from Jeans POV. :? i wont bother with a diagram for that.

panel 4 we get a look at the whole table again.
:storm:
:gambit:...........:kitty:
:rogue:...........:tb3:
:bishop:...........:logan:
:::.................:lifeguard:
:)...........:beast:
:jean:

then Bishop is talking to Lifeguard across th table. according to the above layout, that works. but THEN Logan and Kurt are beside eachother talking to Kitty...

then next pagewe get a look at the one side of the table and the backs of heads of a couple on the other.

all of a sudden Jean is beside Kurt, who is suddenly sitting beside Logan once more, and they are both sitting across from Storm! for a badly wounded woman in a wheelchair for the time being, she sure does get around that table!
:::...........:jean:
:::...........:D
:::...........:logan:
:storm:...........:bishop:
:tb3:.........:rogue:
...........
...........

Still...their moving around like that could give more weight to the dream idea...

the role call is also odd. I mean, Logan is named as "Logan" and Kurt Wagner is listed as "Nightcrawler". It's not logical. :(

Why is Kitty there at all???? when did she contact the team? what the heck??? I STILL think that at least some of this is in Jean's head....it's just too surreal.
Some of it may well be real, but some of it doesn't seem to be...and didn't the copy read that everyone was going back to THE mansion for the holiday? not New Orleans....this is just weird.
The one real good thing about this is, if Kitty IS actually there, then it makes it possible for her to eventually make appearances in Uncanny.....I just dont give up, huh?
